Chapter 6 - Chapter 6 – “The Third Shadow”

On the rooftop of an abandoned building in District 7, where no streetlight reached and the wind howled through cracked concrete, a woman in a long black coat stood against a rusted railing.

Her hair tied in a high ponytail. A cigarette glowing faintly between her fingers.

Triệu Lăng.

A name that appeared in no official records, yet was whispered alongside the most classified missions.

Behind her, a man in a dark shirt approached with his hands in his pockets, irritation evident in his tone.

"She failed. Got nothing out of him."

Triệu Lăng didn't answer right away. She inhaled deeply, exhaled a veil of smoke, eyes still fixed on the city lights shimmering in the distance.

"I know.

He distracted her."

"You mean… Lâm Khả Vũ?"

"No," she said, her voice low.

"I meant his eyes."

"…His eyes?"

"He can strip a person bare with just one glance."

The wind carried the scent of burnt tobacco and rusted iron.

Triệu Lăng's gaze darkened—as if something from the past had clawed its way back to her consciousness…

📸 Six years ago – Training Base 7, Wolf Shadow Unit

A sterile white room. Three blindfolded men sat silently in chairs, facing a teenage boy standing before them.

Name: Lâm Khả Vũ. Age: 18.

A new recruit—young, silent, precise.

Behind the one-way mirror, Triệu Lăng, then captain of the unit, was watching intently, a thick dossier in hand.

The supervising officer beside her muttered:

"What's so special about this kid?"

She didn't turn.

"He's not looking at their hands. He's not listening to their voices.

He's watching their eyes."

"But they're blindfolded."

"I wasn't talking about their eyes.

I meant his."

Her voice dropped into a whisper.

"I stood in front of that stare once.

One second was enough… to feel utterly exposed."

🌃 Present Day

Triệu Lăng flicked her cigarette off the railing. The ember faded in silence.

"That boy doesn't need a weapon.

His gaze is sharp enough to kill."

"Are you… still afraid of him?"

"No," she said quietly.

"I'm cautious.

Fear is for those who don't know what he's capable of."

📚 District 4 – Bookstore where Lâm Khả Vũ works

A young girl was arranging books behind the counter. Her name: An Thư, a part-time staff member with a gentle smile and warm voice.

But inside her purse, a recording device was quietly active.

It had just finished capturing Lâm Khả Vũ's reaction to the mysterious letter found in the basement.

"L.T… Who is that?

Blue Rose Cipher…"

She whispered to herself. Then quickly pulled out her phone and sent a message along with the recording.

"Subject has responded.

Activate Observation Layer Two."

📂 Confidential File – Subject K.V.

🍷 Unknown location – Underground bar

In the dim light of a secluded bar, a scarred man sat silently, eyes fixed on a frozen surveillance image.

In the frame: Lâm Khả Vũ, smiling faintly.

"Still breathing…

Still smiling…"

His name: Viễn Sát.

Former leader of the Wolf Shadow project—now rogue, with his own agenda.

"That boy…

Carries the blood of the one I swore to bury."

From all corners of the city, shadows moved.

Invisible threads tightening around Lâm Khả Vũ—

While he walked on, silent and unflinching.

🥀 A single glance can save a life… or unravel a secret.
