Chapter 45 - Chapter 45 – Time-skip

Six years later

The grand doors of the largest hotel in Spirit City were pushed open by a young lady in professional attire. With a bright smile, she said cheerfully, "Young Master, take care on the road!"

A boy, around 1.75 meters tall, strolled out. As he exited, he turned back and grinned, "Sister Tao, you're wearing black underwear today, right?"

The moment the words left his lips, a mischievous smile spread across his perfectly handsome face. He casually whistled as he walked away, leaving behind a blushing Miss Tao.

'How... how does he always guess it right?'

The boy wore a tailored black coat with crimson trim, the craftsmanship so fine it was as if it were made just for him. His jet-black hair, naturally styled, flowed down to his shoulders, and his face—flawless, almost otherworldly.

Even without considering the harmony of his facial features or the allure in his eyes, just that wicked grin of his was enough to make noblewomen and young ladies on the street turn their heads in admiration.

Li Chang'an had long grown used to such attention and paid it no mind. What he was pondering now was how, ever since his Luck stat had reached ten, his predictions had become uncannily accurate.

For example, a month ago, he started guessing the underwear colors of the hotel attendants—and had nailed nine out of ten so far!

Due to the presence of his Spirit Core, Li Chang'an's cultivation speed over the past six years wasn't particularly fast. This was mainly because he never actively cultivated—he simply relied on eating spirit fruits. Even so, at the age of twelve, he had reached Spirit Ancestor rank, level 46.

His Spirit Core doubled the energy cost for every level-up compared to regular spirit masters. In other words, going from Spirit Grandmaster to Spirit Elder required twice the spirit power, enough for two ordinary spirit masters to ascend. The leap to Spirit Ancestor was even more demanding.

And yet, despite that, reaching Rank 46 by age twelve was a record-breaker. Even more astonishing was the fact that his spirit rings were far from ordinary, making it nearly impossible for anyone to truly assess his strength.

One thing was certain: Li Chang'an was the undisputed top dog of the academy. No one questioned that.

It wasn't that he lacked enough points to exchange for spirit power fruits, but because once he hit level 50, he'd be able to absorb a 100,000-year spirit ring. Without the right spirit beast, it wasn't worth rushing. His points weren't going anywhere; he could level up any time he wanted.

For the past six years, Li Chang'an had focused mainly on a stable routine: attending classes, listening to lectures from Bibi Dong, and steadily accumulating knowledge and cultural literacy.

---

"Chang'an, you're here."

Just as Li Chang'an sat down, Hu Liena walked over. Now sixteen, she was the picture of blossoming youth—her natural charm growing even more potent with time. With her alluring aura and a curvaceous 36D figure, she made many boys burn with desire.

Yet despite her charm, Hu Liena kept others at arm's length. Her eyes had long been filled with only Li Chang'an. What puzzled her, though, was how he still hadn't defined their relationship. The two remained stuck in a constant state of ambiguity.

"Morning, Senior Sister." Li Chang'an's gaze seemed to speak volumes. With just one glance and a simple greeting, he sent a flush of heat surging through Hu Liena.

She licked her lips seductively in response, gave him a teasing look, and returned to her seat.

As the academy's Holy Maiden, Hu Liena was both intelligent and powerful. But in front of Li Chang'an, she was utterly helpless—completely outmatched.

Still, her feelings for him only grew stronger with time. As he got older, Li Chang'an became more handsome, more capable, and more formidable.

What truly impressed her, though, was that at every major academy meeting, Li Chang'an always offered one or two suggestions—ideas that quickly sparked discussions and were soon implemented.

A handsome man wasn't scary. A smart man wasn't scary. Even a strong man wasn't scary.

What was scary was that Li Chang'an was all of these at once. And to make matters worse (or better), he had proven six years ago that he had certain skills...

How could Hu Liena not fall for such a man, especially when they spent nearly every day together?

After class, Li Chang'an went alone to the cafeteria. Lunchtime was reserved for Mu Xi—he never broke that promise. Though Hu Liena already knew about Mu Xi, Li Chang'an had managed to brush it off with an excuse.

He had once sternly scolded Hu Liena, claiming he was merely having lunch with a distant cousin and had no further interactions with her. "What more do you want?" he had snapped.

Truth be told, when Li Chang'an got angry, Hu Liena was genuinely intimidated. Plus, he had plenty of admirers, and love letters came in daily. That made her hesitant to push any further.

Li Chang'an's love life was messy and full of rumors—so many that Hu Liena didn't have the means to investigate them all.

As for Mu Xi, she was much easier to manage. She didn't care about others' opinions and was incredibly obedient—never questioning Li Chang'an about anything.

Now twelve years old, Mu Xi was maturing into a tall, graceful girl. Though still shy and soft-spoken, she had grown quite beautiful.

Today, she wore a simple white blouse, plain black trousers, and flat shoes. Even so, her natural elegance made her look stunning in such modest clothing.

At Li Chang'an's suggestion, she had grown out her black hair into a flowing, shoulder-length style. With her delicate features and soft, peach blossom eyes, she looked like a goddess straight out of a dream.

"You're here," Mu Xi greeted him gently, still seated quietly in her corner. Her eyes shimmered with tenderness as she looked up.

"You said yesterday you were craving shrimp buns," she said softly. "So I practiced making them last night and made a few for you. Try them and see if they're any good?"

She pulled a lunchbox from her bag and placed it in front of Li Chang'an. Then she opened it carefully, set out the chopsticks, prepared the dipping sauce, and laid everything out for him.

Li Chang'an, long used to her shy gentleness, smiled and teased, "Why don't you feed me?"

Even after all the times he'd teased her, Mu Xi still blushed furiously. But she softly replied, "O-Okay… I will…"
