Chapter 10 - CHAPTER 10:The Cuddle Crisis

Alex warmed himself by the fire, rubbing his hands. He glanced at the girl and muttered,

"Look… I'm sorry I hit you. But I had to knock some sense into you. Still… sorry."

She laughed softly, eyes glinting in the firelight.

"You know, when you lost your mother… how bad was it?"

Alex chuckled, then laid back on the ground, staring up at the ceiling of the cave.

"I wouldn't say I knew how bad it was… I was just a year and a half old. But once I got older, I started to understand what I missed. Her warmth… her lullabies. The way she fed me, played with me, stayed awake just to see me sleep…"

His voice lowered.

"What's left now is just a flicker of that warmth in my heart. Nothing more. Nothing less. People keep saying she was beautiful… kind… but all I have is that faint memory."

He sat up, looked at her, and smiled faintly.

"Guess that was my bad luck."

She went quiet, taken aback by how gently he spoke. Her voice softened.

"I'm… sorry for saying that."

Alex shrugged with a grin.

"Nah, don't worry. Plenty of people used to tease me about it. You're not the first."

Suddenly, Darcy flopped onto Alex's chest with a grumble.

"You again? Nothing, idiot—go to sleep," Alex said, brushing him aside.

The girl tilted her head, watching Alex closely.

"What's your real name?"

Alex blinked, then gave a cheeky smile.

"Alexander Brave Light Author."

She squinted.

"Seriously? That name belongs to some ancient warrior! They say he died a century ago."

Alex laughed, voice echoing in the cave.

"When my dad got hurt in battle, I was rescued by the heavens of Olympus. I was raised there until I was eleven."

Her eyes sparkled with curiosity.

"Didn't the Brave Light family cause all sorts of chaos in the heavens?"

Alex smirked, poking the fire with a stick.

"I don't know. I used to sleep on my great-grandfather's lap, play wherever I wanted… no one stopped me. Father and grandfather hid me from most of the politics."

He paused, then looked sideways at her, irritation creeping into his voice.

"That's the thing. The more people knew who I was… the more enemies I made. It's annoying, really."

He leaned back and smirked again.

"What about you, Princess Ruby?"

She laughed, raising a brow.

"How do you know that name?"

Alex looked toward the cave entrance.

"I heard your mother call you that. Sorry if I crossed a line."

She smiled, brushing hair behind her ear.

"No… she used to call me that all the time."

She paused, then added,

"My real name is Rebecca Deviaus Arclight."

Alex nodded, tilting his head with a mock-serious face.

"So… should I call you Ruby? Or go full royal and say Princess Rebecca Deviaus Arclight?"

She burst out laughing.

"Alex! Are you serious? Are you teasing me right now?"

He laughed along with her, the fire crackling between them.

"Just smile like that. Enjoy my company… at least until I finish my training and send you home."

She nodded slowly, eyes lost in the flickering campfire.

"I wish… all of this was just a dream."

Alex looked at her, voice soft but teasing.

"Please, Princess… can you stay in this peculiar dream a little longer? But first—tell me what happened. How did you end up here?"

She lay down, turning to face the cold stone wall of the cave. Her voice trembled.

"After we left our grandmother's, the ships that were waiting for us suddenly attacked. They destroyed all our soldiers. Then… they started chasing us."

She swallowed hard.

"When they caught us, they tortured our knights. Killed the maids after… defiling them."

Her voice dropped to a whisper.

"We were thrown into prison cells. And the way they looked at us—like we were toys. Just broken dolls to be played with."

Alex sat up, solemn.

"There's something my master once told me…"

"God gives the toughest battles to His strongest soldiers. I know you're strong, Rebecca."

She didn't respond right away, her voice barely audible.

"I still hear their screams…"

Alex's tone was steady, comforting.

"Pray for them. Let God carry their journey now. That ship—they're probably at the bottom of the sea by now. It was revenge."

Her eyes flicked to him, pained.

"That was the strongest warship we had, Alex. The knights on board were Aura Masters."

Alex chuckled darkly.

"You know why this island is called Ocean Demon Island?"

She turned to him, brows furrowed.

"People say a demon serpent lives here. One so powerful it could destroy a planet."

"Wrong," Alex replied. "It was imprisoned here. The lightning storms, the gravity shifts, the monstrous waves—they're not natural. They're all part of the cage. Leo and I saw it ourselves."

Leo nodded, his expression grim and serious.

"You'll understand in a few minutes," Alex said, flipping open a worn book and starting to read.

After finishing their meal, everyone lay down. The cave entrance was sealed tightly. Alex remained awake, reading, while Darcy and Leo dozed beside him.

Sometime in the night, the storm outside grew furious. Thunder rolled like war drums.

Rebecca stirred, woken by the violent hissing of wind and the crash of lightning.

Alex glanced at her.

"Get used to it," he muttered. "Damn snake's acting up again…"

The sounds grew louder—lightning crackled violently, the earth quaked slightly. She panicked, frightened by the chaos outside. Without a word, she rushed to Alex's side and clutched his collar, curling up beside him.

She fell asleep there, her breathing slowly calming.

Early morning.

Alex stirred, blinking at his clock.

"Damn… it's 9 a.m. already?"

He stretched and yawned, then noticed something—Rebecca was still asleep, snuggled against his side, her arms lightly wrapped around him.

Darcy and Leo were both staring at him with wide, exaggerated expressions of betrayal.

Alex gently whispered, smiling,

"Let's just… let her sleep like this."

Carefully, he slipped out from under her and stepped outside the cave. Darcy and Leo followed, both glaring.

"What? What did I do now?"

Scene: The Cuddle Crisis & The Training Aftermath

It was Rebecca who hugged Alex and fell asleep on him comfortably. He glanced at her, a hint of amusement in his eyes, and said quietly,

"Let's just leave her like that."

Carefully, he slipped out from under her and headed outside.

As he stepped out, he spotted Leo and Darcy glaring at him from the distance, their expressions deeply upset.

"What happened, guys?" Alex asked, rubbing his eyes and walking toward them.

But the moment he approached Leo, the lion-like beast turned away. Alex frowned and turned to Darcy, who also avoided him and shifted toward Leo.

Leo gave Darcy a sharp nod and growled. Darcy growled back. The two of them started muttering in their beastly way, growling and grumbling like they were plotting something behind his back.

Alex stood there, completely ignored, trying to start a serious conversation.

That's when Rebecca walked out, stretching and yawning.

"Looks like I missed something."

Alex smoothly unsheathed his blade and whispered,

"Brave, what's going on? Why are they upset?"

Brave, the spirit inside the sword, answered with a chuckle,

"Master, they're sulking because the girl stole their cuddle spot. When they tried to sleep beside you, she pulled you away. They've been glaring at you—and her—ever since."

Alex blinked. Then turned to the two beasts.

"Seriously? You two are mad because she took your cuddle spot?"

They both turned their backs and growled louder, like whiny little kids throwing a tantrum.

Rebecca raised an eyebrow.

"Did I miss something important?"

Alex gestured toward the drama.

"Yeah. They're upset because you stole their cuddle spot."

Rebecca stared at the two beasts, both now glaring at her with pouting, offended expressions.

She walked toward them slowly.

"Guys… are you really upset because of me?"

They didn't answer. Just turned away again, like petty toddlers.

Rebecca burst out laughing.

"Alex, why are they acting like literal children?"

Alex sighed and nodded.

"Because they are. Darcy's just three weeks old and Leo's not even a year yet. Welcome to parenting magical beasts."

Rebecca knelt beside Leo and gently petted his head.

Eventually, after some petting, playing, and apologies, the two grumps forgave her. Peace was restored.

Scene: Sword, Fire & Golden Judgment

Meanwhile, Alex headed to his training grounds.

He gripped his sword, closed his eyes, and let his aura flow. The blade hummed with energy. With each swing, he carved through the wind, practicing forms and movements with intense precision.

After finishing his training, he returned to the cave and roasted meat by summoning a bolt of lightning—crispy and charred in seconds.

As the group finished dinner, Alex sat cross-legged, trying to sense mana.

He closed his eyes, extended his awareness... but nothing.

His aura flickered and fizzled out—failure.

Frustrated but patient, he returned home and began inspecting all the traps laid around the perimeter. Some were tangled, others rusted, and he silently got to work fixing them.

That's when Rebecca came running up.

"What are you doing?"

Alex looked over his shoulder.

"Checking traps. Cleaning out the junk."

As he worked, a golden flame ignited around his hand. The moment he touched a decaying corpse, it disintegrated into ash.

Rebecca gasped.

"That fire... what is it?"

Alex stood tall, flames swirling in his palm.

"The Golden Flame. It burns anything impure it touches. it consider the cloths as impure ! "

she look alex like pervert and say " guess pervert has the pervert fire !".

" hey don't say it ! it was gramps gift!", he shout .
