Looking at his Status window, Sirius couldn't help but feel giddy. One, there's a new ability for his Rune. Second, there's a new Blessing for him that came from the snake.
Sirius looks at the description of the new Blessing.
[Boidae Shell]: An armor with black hard shells that grants its wearer some resistance against poison. The armor appears to be one with the wearer, layering the wearer's skin with its scales, some shells.
[Class]: Fallen
"An armor Blessing? Just what I needed."
Sirius smiles happily before standing up and summoning the armor. In the next second, black thin almost transparent armor dons his whole body, like a full bodysuit. Scales seemingly trade for his human skin, making his skin appear black like obsidian gem and similar to a snake's, from down his feet up to his face. But his human skin is still intact, while the scales and shell armor appears on the second layer of his body and hugging close to his human skin.
Some part of the armor such as the elbows and the knees which is a part of a combat high boots, protrude fang-like edges outward. While four jagged parts also appear on his jawline, two on each side beneath each ears, and two other on each side beneath the edge of his lips, with a black line connecting to each jagged parts as the four hugs onto his jawline.
The gloves are quite thick, encased with styled shells that reach to his forearm. The glove's fingertips appear sharp too, as if the nails are fangs. Clenching his right hand, the nails scrape against the armor on his palm. Satisfied with no damage to it and the quite comfortable feeling, Sirius checks his armor out once again.
"This feels more like a bodysuit than an armor... but, let me check its durability..."
To test out its durability, Sirius summons [Shade of Night]. Moving it to his limp left forearm, Sirius slices at it.
Surprisingly, no blood draws from his scale-like forearm. Sirius grins upon discovering this.
"Shade of Night is also a Fallen class Blessing. So it's safe to say my whole body is now safe from sharp things on the Seed level or maybe Fallen."
Sirius smiles before noticing that his shirt, pants, and even boots have tears on it. Sirius frowns before cursing.
Unsummoning both [Boidae Shell] and [Shade of Night], Sirius looks at the extent of damage on his attire. Undressing himself, he lets out a sigh of relief to notice that his boxers and the cloth that is pressing tight onto his open wound are still on and fine.
"So it appears that I'd have to wear a bodysuit underneath this bodysuit of an armor if I don't want to be naked in case the armor gets destroyed..."
Sirius sighs before summoning back [Boidae Shell] with only his boxers on, he's not really going to complain anyways. Sirius looks at the shirt, pants, and boots. He could really use them for something but unfortunately the armor has no pockets.
Shaking his head, excitement returns as he look at the other reward he also gained, [Stellar Force]. Curious, a description pops up as he reads the content.
[Stellar Force]: Generate particles of Stellar mana that you can influence to your will.
"Is it... this...?"
His heart beats as he slowly stands up, instinctually, he reach his hand out to the air and push out the mana in his soul towards his palm.
Soon, a blue fiery wisp in the form a sword materialize on his hand. Sirius' eyes widens as he lets out a wide smile.
"H-Ha... this- this is so cool..."
Sirius watch as he commands the sword to fly around, he watch as the sword slash at the desk, the bed, and the cabinet. Angry blue glow lights up on the slash mark as he watch in satisfaction.
Playing with it for a while, Sirius push out more mana as three more swords appears on the air around him. He sends one to the desk, one to the chair, one to the cabinet, and one to the bed with great speed as he watch it stab and massacre them.
Smiling in satisfaction, Sirius could feel the mana pool inside his body slowly deteriorates, his actions burning the pool of mana away as the fiery swords made up of stellar mana slowly fades away.
"Ah..."
He could feel a sort of emptiness in his soul. Quickly, Sirius pull in the thick mana in the air as it quickly rushes towards his body. It takes quite a while, but it is definitely coming in through a large volume.
Though, he's sure that it's going to be different once he goes back to Earth.
"It is the Abyss after all..."
Though he's not quite sure if it's only thick because he's of the Evoker class and his Soul Purity is still at 1 out of 6. Or it will become less thick once he ascends to Ruler class. The next class ahead of Evoker and where the strongests of humanity are.
Sirius sighs, even though he ascended, the situation is still not favorable towards him. First, he has no information on the area around him. Second of all, his left hand have become unusable once more.
Though, he's sure it won't take long before he recovers now that he's an Evoker too, probably two or three days.
"Anyways... I better search around the area and find another Gate."
Sirius summons [Shard of Night] and start walking out of the creepy room. Looking around with the dagger in his scaly hand, Sirius walks on the empty misty hall.
Finally, Sirius reaches a tall arch shaped five by five meters wooden door, though it is also quite run down.
Sirius takes a deep breath before pushing the tall door open on one side as a loud creak ensues.
He widen his eyes as broken seats could be seen lined up with a long carpet of red from another door the same as the one he had open across from his. In front of him, a large altar could be seen.
Looking around, he could see tall myriad coloured glass windows that is lined up on the sides. The windows that reflect the moonlight outside cast coloured shadows to the seats and floor.
Lastly, his gaze lands on two huge statues of stone that is now unrecognizable could be seen. Headless and mangled body that dons a stone armor. But, two thing stands out from the two statues, one is the large sword each statue holds planted into the floor, and the other is the stone wing protruding from its back. The right statue has one stone wing on the right side of its back, while the left has one on the left side.
Sirius frowns, his body tense as he quickly run to the door across from him. The statue gives him both the creeps and solemnity.
'I hope those aren't alive and if they are, I hope they didn't detect me...'
Sirius thought, carefully distancing himself from the two statues.
Observing from the distance by a minute, nothing happens as Sirius lets out a relieved sigh.
'This must've been a cathedral. We don't really know much about Calamities but we do know that even a Fallen has some sort of awareness.'
There's no concrete evidence that all the Calamities are simple mindless creature, humanity agrees that Calamities are not done yet. They have much more to show humanity, but something is preventing them from completely obliterating humanity.
'Whatever it is, you have my thanks... Anyway, I have to find a Gate and get out of the Abyss.'
Sirius opens the door and is welcomed by a stone brick path and the view of tall steel fences and a gate. Mist groups in the area, walking past the mist and towards the gate, Sirius forcefully open the old gate and walk pass it.
Moving forward on a muddy dirt path, Sirius' black high boots steps on it. Feeling the slight moist dirt as he looks to his left and right and see dead trees covering the area. Mist flowing around the trunk of the dead trees.
Walking forward with his trusty black dagger on hand, Sirius proceeds carefully and keep his body aware of any kind of noise or feeling.
Slowly but surely, Sirius notice the fact that the mist is slowly clearing up. Keeping his body tense, Sirius soon clears himself off the mist.
A beautiful sight greets him, right in front of him a few meters away, a long wide stone bridge with a colossal arch entrance for the bridge on the middle of it could be seen reaching across towards a huge statue of a golem with rocks protruding around its feet. The statue is so tall it reach up to the heavens, a mangled hand outstretched to the sky. Around the statue, ruined buildings surround it in a circle but not too close to the statue and also the path of the bridge in front of him and three other bridges.
Looking ahead, he could see the three other bridges that leads to the east, west, and north from where he is. At the end of bridges, stood gothic-esque buildings, houses, factories, and some skycrapers even. With some even towering over the huge statue that reach for the sky with its hand.
Looking at the sky, Sirius finally notice it. There are edges on the sky that encircles around the whole city. As if the city is inside an island with the top of the island scooped out.
Sirius shivers as both the cold wind and the magnificent ruined city is visible in front of him.
'... Calamities are dangerous, truly. Who knows, they might be a species similar to humans.'
But the surprise doesn't end there, looking down, he could see another layer of the city. Underneath the statue, a pillar that connects it down to another floor of the city with two bridges that spread diagonally from the pillar could be seen, one diagonally lower left, one diagonally upper right. From there, the ground forms a circle that connects to the other bridges. Around the circle, other ruined buildings also stood, and underneaty the buildings and bridges, another floor could also be seen.
This time, there appears to be solid ground with no more empty ground that leads somewhere further underneath. The whole underground city of three floors reminds Sirius of an ant lair.
Sirius decides to walk on the bridge, his eyes takes in the view of the statue, bridges, and the gothic buildings. It all looks like the old human cities that have gothic or victorian style buildings, but if there's a few thing that convince him that this underground city doesn't belong to humanity, it's the statue and the edges that protrude on the carved out top of the island.
Additionally, the way the city have three floors and bridges and a huge pillar that most likely acts as the stairs for going up and down the floors.
Suddenly, a loud thundering boom echoes somewhere from the floor beneath the first floor of this city.
Sirius' eyes widen as he goes to the side of the bridge and look down. A group of humans could be seen running on the bridge of the second floor towards the huge pillar underneath the statue.
"Humans...? Ah."
Realization hits him, add to that, Sirius could see a pack of ghoul with horrid wings flying towards a young lady. She crackles with blue lightning, blocking the path that leads to where the group of humans are running back as she massacres the ghouls that dare to slip through her with her thin sword.
Sirius decides to meet up with them and help them as he quickly run towards the statue. Reaching there, Sirius could see a stairway that leads downward near the statue.
Sirius runs down the stairway, his feet quick as he skips through the stairs that leads to the second floor and soon reach an entrance that leads out of the pillar.
Jumping on the flooring, Sirius sees the party that is nearing the pillar stop and the ones carrying melees move forward to help the young lady. While the ones that stays back are those that doesn't suit fighting in close range.
Sirius dashes forward past the row of shooters, collective gasps escaping their mouth as Sirius jumps in the fight on the frontline.
Activating [Stellar Force], Sirius rain down on the ghouls with four blue fiery swords. His four swords made up of stellar mana and his dagger finish off the ghouls that are either paralyzed or burning on the side as the yellow haired young lady crackles with blue lightning. She cleaves and decapitates ghouls with the other melees.
The young lady and the melees spare Sirius a glance before focusing back on the fight. The number of ghouls thinning as soon, the fight stops with humans coming out on top.
Sirius pants, his chest rising up and down as his left chest shoots out pain. He wince from the pain, a slight hiss escaping hiss mouth.
Footsteps reach his ear, wiping his sweat, he turn to the sound of footsteps that nears him.
What comes into his view is the yellow haired young lady, her soft hair styled to a wolf styled haircut that drapes over her shoulder. Her eyes are a pair of calm gleaming light red coloured pupils, her creamy skin stained with black blood.
Her pink lips soft and plump as she seems to be radiating light. Her face emanates kindness, delicate even, the intensity from the battle earlier vanishing as it is now replace by a soft smile.
She stands at the height of 5 feet and 11 inches, a head taller than Sirius.
She wears a greek styled white tunic, the hem reaching her thighs while silver high combat boots that reach up to her knees cover her.
A part of the white fabric that is covered by a silver cuirass gather and drape over her left shoulder, it then curtains down her back and down to the back of her calf, akin to a half cape.
Silver shoulder plates cover her shoulder, silver armor gloves that reach her forearms is worn on her. The edges of the glove appears like a shell, the claws on her fingertips appear to be sharp as she holds a thin silver sword with no guard and a simple silver hilt and scabbard that is grasp on her left hand.
"Nice to meet you, sorry if I get this wrong but are you Sirius?"
The young lady asks, tilting her head.
"Yes. Yes I am. It's nice to meet you, Thea."
