Chapter 322 - When Everything Updated at Once

After becoming a Hero's Egg, gaining the Power of Salvation, and acquiring the ability to evolve skills, Shirou Emiya had already expected changes.

Major ones.

What he hadn't expected was this.

Skills that had remained completely unchanged for a long time evolved all at once the moment his level rose. Not gradual. Not partial. Everything moved together.

The scale of the change was far beyond his initial estimates.

After carefully examining every detail, Shirou Emiya finally formed a clear understanding of his new skill set.

First-

The former skills 『Divine Protection』, 『Magic Resistance』, and 『Independent Action』 had been split apart, reorganized, and recombined into five completely new skills.

『Super Intuition』

• Sixth sense applicable to all matters related to achieving one's goals.

• In combat, can sense the most suitable next action.

• In combat, when focusing the mind, can predict one second into the future.

• When conspiracies or schemes target the user, a warning is issued.

『Battle Continuation』

• Ignores physical condition and maintains peak state.

• All recovery-related performance is greatly enhanced.

• Vital point nullification.

『Grand Magus』

• Magic-related abilities and talent are super-enhanced.

• Nullifies magic attacks below the user's level.

• Divine Blessings update automatically.

『Flame's Blessing』

• Can transmute magical power into flames.

• Immune to fire damage.

• Fire-attribute attacks are super-enhanced.

『Dark Hero』

• Presence Concealment: completely hides aura and existence.

• Myriad Transformations: uses magic power to alter appearance.

• Monster Commander: one who commands monsters.

All five skills were clearly derived from his previous abilities.

But they were no longer simple upgrades.

They were reorganized systems.

Each new skill expanded on its original foundation and gained entirely new functions.

Among them, 『Super Intuition』 inherited the conspiracy-prediction aspect of 『Divine Protection』.

On top of that, it gained something closer to revelation.

An advanced, constantly operating intuition.

For Shirou Emiya, this enhancement was unquestionably valuable.

That said, he didn't actually rely on the conspiracy-warning function very often.

In most worlds he visited, he already knew the general flow of events.

He understood the major plots.

He knew who was scheming and who would betray whom.

More often than not, he was the one plotting against others.

Not the other way around.

Still, this skill mattered.

Because eventually, he would encounter people he couldn't predict.

Old monsters who had lived for centuries.

People who didn't exist in the original story.

People who would try to strike from behind.

In the past, Shirou Emiya's strength had been limited.

His name carried no weight.

There was no reason for powerful figures to pay attention to him.

That would not remain true forever.

In this world alone, 『Super Intuition』 had already begun triggering warnings.

The entire Jura Forest was under the shadow of Demon Lord Clayman's schemes.

Having a skill that constantly monitored threats was simply too convenient.

It wasn't flashy.

But it made everything easier.

Next was 『Battle Continuation』.

This skill inherited part of 『Independent Action』's recovery traits.

But its true value lay elsewhere.

Ignores physical condition, maintains peak state.

That sentence was terrifying.

As long as he was breathing.

As long as he wasn't dead.

He would remain at peak condition.

Fatigue no longer mattered.

Injuries no longer reduced performance.

This was likely a result of his prolonged, brutal battles against the Orc army.

An ability forged through attrition.

As for vital point nullification-

Shirou Emiya paused.

His interpretation was simple.

It likely meant that traditional vital points no longer functioned as such.

For example-

His heart.

If pierced, he wouldn't die.

Whether his head counted as a vital point...

That, he didn't know.

And he had absolutely no intention of testing it.

There were limits to curiosity.

『Grand Magus』 was easier to understand.

It inherited elements from both 『Divine Protection』 and 『Independent Action』, while fully absorbing 『Magic Resistance』.

On top of that, it received layered enhancements across the board.

Magic talent.

Magic efficiency.

Magic control.

Even Divine Blessings now updated automatically.

In simple terms-

Anything related to magic was now pushed to an extreme.

『Flame's Blessing』 was the most straightforward.

It was essentially separated out as an independent skill.

Its functions hadn't changed much.

But the enhancement to fire-attribute attacks was clearly stronger than before.

Finally-

『Dark Hero』.

This one gave Shirou Emiya pause.

Why did this skill exist?

Was it because he had sworn allegiance to Rimuru, a future Demon Lord?

Was it because he spent most of his time among monsters?

A hero who walked in darkness.

The name itself was ambiguous.

The meaning unclear.

What he did know was this-

It inherited the shapeshifting function from 『Divine Protection』.

An ability he rarely used.

Aside from briefly transforming into Sagara Hayato and Atalanta, he hadn't relied on it much.

It also absorbed his previously acquired Presence Concealment and enhanced it further.

At this point, his ability to erase his existence was nearly absolute.

The last description, however-

Monster Commander.

That was the confusing part.

Shirou Emiya was already acting as one in practice.

But skills didn't describe reality.

They granted effects.

This description implied authority.

Control.

Or something deeper.

What exactly it did-

He had no idea.

And the skill description offered no hints.

After staring at it for a while, Shirou Emiya let out a quiet breath.

"Forget it."

"I'll understand it eventually."

Silently, he整理ed everything in his mind.

Overall, despite five new skills appearing, most of the changes were reorganizations and upgrades.

Truly new functions existed mainly in 『Battle Continuation』 and 『Super Intuition』.

But those two alone were massive.

They weren't active offensive skills.

Yet for Shirou Emiya, passive abilities like these were even more terrifying.

They reinforced every action he took.

And he wasn't lacking in offensive power to begin with.

In the world of the Nasuverse's Mage Association, he had effectively read through the Clock Tower's entire library.

Almost all of it.

In the Nasuverse, magecraft struggled to deal with Servants or Dead Apostles.

But that wasn't because magecraft was weak.

It was because of the era.

In the Age of Gods, spells capable of erasing cities existed.

In the modern era, those same systems struggled to destroy even a house.

That difference was environmental.

Not conceptual.

Which meant-

In another world.

A world rich in magic.

As long as Shirou Emiya understood the local magical foundation, he could reconstruct those truly terrifying spells.

Knowledge didn't lose value across worlds.

So no.

He was not lacking offensive means.

Leaning against a tree trunk with his eyes closed, Shirou Emiya rested quietly after finishing his meal.

Nearby, Little Rimuru watched him nervously.

Had Father gotten angry?

That was the thought circling in her mind.

Carefully, she moved closer.

Then reached out and gently poked his cheek.

"What's wrong, Little Rimuru?"

Shirou Emiya opened his eyes, looking at her in mild confusion.

"I thought Father was angry..."

"How could that be?" Shirou Emiya asked calmly. "Do I really seem that petty?"

Reaching out, he gently stroked her head.

His expression softened.

"I would never be angry at you."

"Mm!"

Little Rimuru smiled brightly.

"I believe Father!"

She threw herself into his arms, laughing softly.

Shirou Emiya leaned back against the tree, one hand resting on her head as she nestled against him.

He didn't say anything.

He simply enjoyed the moment.

Time passed quietly.

Moonlight gradually washed over the forest.

Eventually, Shirou Emiya patted Little Rimuru lightly and stood up.

"That's enough rest."

"I'm back at peak condition."

He stretched his limbs, then glanced to the side.

"They should be fighting over there by now."

"Yes," Little Rimuru replied. "Little Emiya and the others have already encountered the main Orc force."

"I see."

A faint smile appeared.

"Then let's go watch."

Taking Little Rimuru with him, Shirou Emiya headed toward the main battlefield.
