In the dim alchemy workshop, a single candlelight illuminated the gloomy space, quickly coating the shadows with a warm glow, revealing the peculiar materials scattered around. Asher glanced at the white rat still silently gnawing on the food he had brought it.

From the looks of it, it probably wouldn't talk about what happened earlier until it finished eating.

With nothing else to do, Asher's gaze swept around the room. The alchemy workshop wasn't large, but it held many things. Rare materials were placed on every cabinet, and the surfaces of the cabinets shimmered with a magical aura. Evidently, though seemingly within reach, some kind of barrier had been set up, preventing easy touch. Asher walked to the display cabinet and carefully examined the materials within: red stones that looked like tears, something resembling tree roots, bones that seemed to emit an aura of disaster, suspected phoenix feathers, and... Asher's gaze fixed on a withered branch on a certain shelf. For some reason, he felt a strong sense of familiarity with this branch.

Asher activated his Overload Combat Mode, and his body's strength instantly surged. Morgan had said that barriers wouldn't affect him, but just in case, Asher opted for a more cautious approach. After all, Morgan probably hadn't expected him to come to an alchemy workshop on his own.

Asher tried to reach out and touch it. His fingers easily passed through the barrier and touched the branch. There seemed to be magic surging on the branch, and these magical energies, as Asher touched them, seemed to leap with joy. After swirling in mid-air for a while, they drilled into Asher's fingertips. He quickly felt as if something had been added to his body. It was a very comfortable feeling, like a gentle call from deep within his heart. The magic flowed naturally through his body, as if it were a part of him.

The white rat, gnawing on a piece of meat, looked at Asher. "That woman is really good to you, not even setting restrictions on you in a place like this?"

"So you were overthinking it. Sister Morgan wouldn't harm me." Asher withdrew his hand and looked back at the chubby white rat. Its eyes were narrowed into slits due to its plumpness, giving it a very cunning look.

"Impossible. Why do you think Morgan Le Fay is called a witch?" The white rat shook its head emphatically. "That woman only cares about her own interests. If you're no longer useful to her, you'll be kicked away immediately.

Whatever you've taken from her now, you'll have to repay a hundred, a thousand times over later."

"Do you know why I dared to curse her today? It's because I still have value to her. I am a precious experimental subject," the white rat said. "No matter what magic potions I consume, I can automatically digest them afterwards. This is a very valuable thing for that woman, so she will never lay a hand on me."

"Then why didn't you get food today?" Asher asked.

"Probably cursed her too hard?" The white rat was also a bit puzzled, warning again, "In short, never trust a witch's words. She must be hiding something from you!"

"You go first," Asher pulled up a stool and sat in front of the white rat. "By the way, why do you know such things?" he asked, puzzled. Logically, how could an experimental white rat confined to a cage know so much?

The white rat raised its plump paw and licked the grease from it, its beady eyes flickering as it spoke: "Before I was caught by that witch, this lord was also a monster that intimidated one side! Those dragons and snakes were all my prey!"

"Oh," Asher nodded.

"That's all the reaction you have...?"

"So-so amazing," Asher clapped stiffly. "Can you tell me now?"

White Rat: "..." After a moment of speechless silence, it finally spoke: "According to my deduction, Morgan wants to wait for you and Vortigern to be mutually wounded, then reap the benefits."

Asher and the white rat stared at each other for a moment. He asked, puzzled, "That's it...?"

"This is big news! News that concerns your life!" the white rat shouted.

"If Sister Morgan wanted to make a move, Vortigern wouldn't have survived back then," Asher shook his head. Besides, he didn't believe Morgan would harm him. If she wanted to, she'd had countless opportunities, but she never did.

"If Vortigern were that easy to kill, she would have killed him long ago. He represents the will of Britain, an indelible existence. Otherwise, how could she not make a move?" The white rat had a profound look. "In this world, only one king can kill another king." "That woman is a siscon and doesn't want her younger sister to be harmed, which is why she chose you," the white rat said solemnly.

"From the moment you became King Arthur, everything has been proceeding according to her plan."

"And you underestimate Vortigern too much. The Otherworld Gate cannot hold him. After all, the Otherworld is not all hell; there are also heavens and opportunities. Gods, spirits, and fairies all reside there, and ugly, terrifying giants and monsters also exist. It is the paradise where souls temporarily reside before reincarnation, the only point where humans and gods intersect. And in this country, the Otherworld also exists."

"Avalon?" Asher muttered softly, then stared at the white rat and asked, "You just said that only a king can kill a king, so why didn't she let me kill Vortigern, but let him go?" This mouse was indeed a bit strange. It seemed very familiar with the Otherworld. Asher even suspected that this creature came from the Otherworld.

"This is also what puzzles me. Logically, if she wanted to kill Vortigern, she shouldn't have let him leave," the white rat sighed. "But what I said is absolutely correct, King Arthur. If you have the chance, leave as soon as possible.

That woman is very deep." "If you stay by her side, you'll eventually drown in it."

"I won't go." Asher shook his head.

"I've told you the truth for the sake of the food, why don't you understand?!" The white rat was so angry it wanted to stomp its feet.

"I believe what you say." Asher opened the cage and took out a small piece of meat from his pocket, placing it inside the cage. The white rat brought its mouth closer, bit the meat, and gnawed on it in small bites. It looked up, its rat eyes gazing at Asher. It saw him smile, a relaxed smile. "But I don't believe she would harm me, so I will definitely stay here."

"You'll regret it. She's a witch. If you're deceived, you'll definitely be dragged into hell," the white rat grumbled, its small head swaying back and forth, seemingly resigned to Asher's stubbornness.

"If I'm deceived, I'll be willing," Asher said.

The white rat sighed, "You're gambling with your life, King Arthur." Asher took out the last piece of meat and fed it to the white rat, then closed the cage door. He gently patted the cage.

"I'm betting on human nature."
