One year had passed since the Von Advocate al Mi tragedy. The world had barely begun to breathe again.
And then… it happened.
News broke—first as a whisper in underground circles, then a thunderclap across the continents.
The Northern Continent had collapsed.
Not one, not two, but three Regional Devourers appeared simultaneously—colossal beasts of pure destruction, far beyond what most nations could handle. Each one the size of a mountain. Their roars alone shattered buildings.
In less than a single day, four countries were completely wiped off the map. Cities crumbled. Forests turned to ashes. Mountains cracked and rivers boiled.
Panic swept the world.
Emergency response from the Northern Alliance was instant. All seven 6th Stage Elite Squads were dispatched within hours. Two World Class Mobs, the Northern Guardian Erold Fenra and Blade Queen Sithria Vale, arrived as the final line of defense.
The battle lasted 9 hours straight.
By the time the smoke cleared…
Two Regional Devourers were dead.
One was sealed—barely.
Erold Fenra and Sithria Vale were dead.
Their corpses were honored. Their names etched into history. But the cost was undeniable.
From 9, the world's remaining World Class Mobs dropped to just 7.
And in the ashes of those fallen nations, no survivors were found.
The world grew quieter.
Not in peace, but in fear.
Fleedorb and the Eastern Continent began strengthening their borders. Meetings between rulers intensified. Massive defense walls and watchtowers were being built near gatefields and rift zones.
Even Ryu—far from the scene—felt the tremor in the air.
> "Three Devourers at once," he muttered to Mina, reading the headline. "That's… unheard of."
She looked worried.
> "Do you think it could happen again?"
He didn't answer.
But his fists clenched.
Ryu had grown—now firmly a 6th Stage Mob, and already being evaluated by scouts for Continental Response Units. But even with all that strength, he knew…
Those monsters weren't something one man could stop alone.
Not yet.
Somewhere deep inside, a new awareness formed in him.
Not ambition.
Not desire.
But duty.
Because the world was changing.
And the time of hiding in safety was coming to an end.
To be continued...
