The Golden Dragon Spear had grown even longer—nearly five meters in length. Its shaft was thick as a duck egg at the center, and both ends were adorned with blades over a meter and a half long. Sharp, multicolored light shimmered across the blades, the spear radiating brilliance.
Jiang Wuyue's massive hammers crashed against the Golden Dragon Spear, but a terrifying counterforce burst out instantly. The pressure from Gu You's bloodline only made it worse. Jiang Wuyue was blasted several meters into the air.
Gu You followed up with a downward sweep. A half-moon shaped slash of dazzling spear light flew out, slicing straight toward Jiang Wuyue.
He blocked with both hammers. A thunderous blast rang out, sending his body flying dozens of meters backward. He staggered a few steps before barely regaining his balance.
"Your strength..." Jiang Wuyue looked at Gu You in shock.
Forget someone at the same level—even a soul master two rings above him wouldn't dare face his hammer strikes head-on. He was a pure strength-type soul master. Strength and defense were his greatest weapons.
But in front of Gu You, the power he was famous for was completely useless. He hadn't even shaken Gu You—and his armor was left with a visible gash. Even his Two-Word Armor's defensive shield had been breached. That spear was unbelievably sharp.
"Made a bit of progress recently," Gu You said calmly.
"I don't buy it!" Jiang Wuyue roared to the sky, his sixth soul ring lighting up.
His entire battle armor and scales turned dark gold. Under a wave of golden light, his body expanded again—now reaching nearly ten meters in height.
Behind him, a towering fifty-meter-tall projection of a tyrannosaurus faintly appeared. Its massive jaws opened toward Gu You in a silent roar.
"Apocalypse Tyrant Charge!"
With a roar, the dark golden light surged forward like a true dragon. In the blink of an eye, it was already in front of Gu You. The crushing momentum and terrifying strength—Jiang Wuyue had unleashed everything he had.
Gu You frowned and raised the Golden Dragon Spear.
"Thousand Shadows Eternal—go!"
The spear hovered in the air, spawning a thousand spear shadows.
With the eternal dragon core supporting him, every shadow became thinner, sharper, and emitted radiant multicolored light.
The countless spear shadows exploded forth, clashing directly with the charging Jiang Wuyue.
The backlash sent Jiang Wuyue's entire body into a violent tremor. Everything went black—and then, the golden light swallowed him whole.
A flash of light. A robotic voice rang out by his ear.
"Body damage exceeds 70%. Eliminated. Loss. Record: 0 Wins, 1 Loss."
The pain vanished with the light. Jiang Wuyue found himself back at the same spot he was before entering the arena.
Another flash. Gu You appeared beside him. Except now, after the nickname "Purple-Gold King," three words floated in white light: 1 Win, 0 Loss.
He lost?
If, in their last sparring match, he hadn't used his full strength—this time, he absolutely had. He gave it everything. Yet he'd still been taken down in one strike.
Jiang Wuyue stood frozen. Then he heard Gu You mutter.
"That thousand coins wasn't worth it. Too fast."
Too fast? What the hell did he mean by too fast?! Jiang Wuyue wanted to shout, but as the loser, he felt like he didn't even have the right.
He was frustrated. But he had to admit—he had lost. Fair and square. It was pure power that defeated him. Absolute strength. Just how powerful had this guy become?
He'd fought countless battles, faced formidable enemies. But never had he felt this level of powerlessness. There wasn't a moment during that fight when he felt he had a chance.
"I'm out," Jiang Wuyue muttered gloomily.
Gu You quickly followed.
"Frustrated?"
"Yeah," Jiang Wuyue made no effort to hide it.
"This is just…" Before Gu You could finish, Jiang Wuyue turned into particles of light and vanished.
Gu You didn't exit the network. Since he was already here, he decided to try out the mecha arena.
He'd always been curious about the difference between soul master combat and mecha warfare—especially in this AI-driven environment. The transition from spirit to machinery fascinated him.
The system there worked the same way—pay, enter, and select either melee or ranged mecha.
Gu You didn't hesitate.
Ranged.
He knew his strengths. Close combat was no problem, but his instincts and battle awareness made him lethal from a distance.
When he appeared on the battle platform, he was already inside a mecha. The interior control setup was for a standard-issue unit—based on its design, it was a yellow-grade mecha.
The internal display showed a fully white frame, holding a soul cannon. It had a basic shield—and that was the entire loadout.
No advanced thrusters. No auxiliary weapons. No tactical AI inside the mech to assist. Just him and the console.
Just then, light flashed on the opposite side, and another mecha appeared. It was clearly larger than his, bulkier, and wielded a greatsword. A melee mecha. But it didn't look significantly stronger.
Gu You adjusted the cannon in his hands and quickly familiarized himself with the internal controls.
The countdown began.
"Three… Two… One—Begin!"
With the start command, the enemy mecha charged like a steamroller.
Standard melee-type mecha. Twelve meters tall. Eight tons.
Gu You's ranged-type mecha. Ten meters tall. Six and a half tons.
As the enemy charged forward, Gu You raised his cannon and fired a shot—then immediately turned and ran.
He was a shooter. Wear the opponent down slowly.
The cannon shot burst out, orange-yellow in color. It accelerated mid-air and zoomed toward the melee mecha.
The opponent dodged with surprising agility. With a subtle shift, its body tilted as if slipping—but it simply planted its left hand on the ground, avoided the shot, and kept charging. It hadn't even used its boosters yet.
'What the hell? Why's the projectile so slow?'
Gu You cursed, but also noted in surprise that this yellow-grade mecha handled just as well as a black-grade one.
He thought quickly and swung his cannon back.
Boom! He fired another volley.
The enemy mecha stayed calm, weaving left and right with steady, nimble movements. As Gu You kept firing, it kept closing in. The distance was now under fifty meters.
If it used its boosters now, it could reach him in half a second...
Gu You's fingers moved rapidly across the controls, directing the mech into a zigzag retreat. He didn't plan on being cut down this early—not after shelling out for that overpriced warm-up match. His mind raced.
'This system's too real. It even simulates pressure stress and targeting delay. Guess I'll have to be smarter.'
His mech spun around, crouching low just as he let off another charged shot.
This one landed.
A glancing blow hit the enemy's shoulder, causing it to reel—but not stop. It only seemed to charge faster.
Gu You smirked.
'Let's see how long you can keep up with this tempo.'
