Chapter 301 - Chapter 301: Three-Star General

Only Xue San wore a thoughtful expression on his face.

A faint smile appeared on Xue Liu's face. "Interesting. The Black Sovereign was seriously injured, and it even drew the Abyssal Demon Lord out. That last one, that should've been the Charm Sovereign, right? For the Charm Sovereign to reveal her true form... the cost of that is not small. Luckily, she's under the suppression of a seal and could only project less than a third of her power. Otherwise..."

'The Charm Sovereign, huh?' Gu You muttered softly to himself.

Xue Ba glanced at Xue Liu and Xue Qi. "You should both understand, what I wanted you to pay attention to wasn't that."

Xue San nodded. "Indeed, it's quite strange. Though we generally avoid asking questions about a soul master's secrets, this one concerns the Abyss Passage. Kid, I must ask—what method did you use to absorb the abyssal energy? And once it was absorbed, where did that energy go?"

"My Golden Dragon Spear has a special trait. Its ability is to devour energy from all living beings. After filtering it internally, the energy is redirected to me. It allows me to continuously gain strength and maintain my fighting power."

Gu You spoke truthfully, though he left a few things out.

"Can I have a look?" Xue Qi asked eagerly.

Gu You nodded. A golden light flared on the back of his left hand, and the Golden Dragon Spear appeared in his grasp. Holding the spear with both hands, he offered it to the group.

Xue Qi instinctively reached out to touch it, but the instant his fingers brushed the spear, his expression changed. It was as if he'd touched a live wire—he swiftly withdrew his hand.

He had clearly felt an intense pressure surge into his bloodline the moment he made contact with the spear. It was not a pleasant sensation. The oppressive force left his spirit slightly shaken.

Xue San wasn't as reckless. He looked on with surprise. "This weapon is connected to your bloodline, isn't it? Did you forge it yourself?"

"No. I was born with it," Gu You replied with a shake of his head.

Xue Wu reached out to grasp the Golden Dragon Spear. His body trembled slightly, though he didn't recoil like Xue Qi had. Even so, his brows lifted and a thoughtful look appeared in his eyes.

After a moment, he released the spear and lightly shook his head. "It's no use."

Xue San nodded as well. "It can't be replicated. A pity. Still, the fact that both the Charm Sovereign and the Abyssal Lord have taken action against him proves how much of a threat he poses to them. We must take extra care to protect him. Oh, and we haven't asked your name yet."

"My name is Gu You."

"You never graduated from Shrek Academy. Normally, someone like you wouldn't have been able to get here. So what's your relationship with Leng Yaozhu that made her go so far as to falsify a recommendation letter for you?" Xue San continued.

"That's... a long story," Gu You replied, realizing he couldn't hide it anymore.

"Haha! I'm just messing with you. You're the godson of my cousin. Of course I'm going to look after you."

Xue San waved it off.

"Godson of your cousin?" The surrounding Blood Gods were all visibly shocked.

That meant...

"You are...?"

"My name is Yun Lan. Yun Ming was my cousin. He was my only family."

Gu You was stunned, scolding himself internally for forgetting someone this important. 'How could I be so dumb as to overlook her...'

"To think he's related to Yun Ming... my god..."

"I only learned this news recently," Yun Lan said with a soft laugh. She wasn't unaware of what had happened with Ya Li. This outcome was probably for the best.

Just then, the elevator door that Gu You and Xue Ba had taken earlier opened once again. Two figures walked in from outside.

The first was an elderly man with white hair and a clearly aged face. But his eyes were sharp and vivid, a striking emerald green that made him seem otherworldly.

"What happened, little sister?" he asked as soon as he noticed Xue San quietly wiping away tears.

Following behind him was a tall, handsome man with long black hair draped over his shoulders. Like the others, he wore a crisp white military uniform. All the Blood Gods, including the elder, bore the rank insignia of major general on their shoulders.

But the final man to enter wore three gold stars on his epaulettes.

A Federal Admiral.

In the Douluo Federation military, the highest position was the Military Commander, a four-star general. The Supreme Commander was also a four-star general. Below them were a handful of admirals.

In total, the entire Federation only had two full generals and less than ten admirals.

The man before them was one of those rare few.

The young man's gaze fell directly on Gu You.

"Little Eight, you called us here... for this young man? My time is limited. The Federation already doesn't trust me anymore."

Xue Ba nodded. She didn't refute him at all when he called her "Little Eight".

"Let them doubt you. The Blood God Legion has the authority to disobey their orders. We shed blood on the battlefield. When was the last time you returned to Tang Sect? Why should you carry the blame for their mistakes?"

The young man offered a bitter smile. "Officially, my status as Blood One has already been revoked. That's Tang Sect's fault. Duotian made a grave error."

The elderly man standing beside them examined Gu You from head to toe, then turned toward the three-star admiral.

"Big Brother, this kid is something else. Fifteen years old, and already Soul Saint level. I checked his bone age to confirm."

When they heard that Gu You was only fifteen, all the Blood Gods present reacted with shock—especially Xue Ba.

'What kind of monster is this kid?'

The man addressed as "Big Brother" stepped forward with a warm smile as he looked at Gu You. "Now that you've joined the Blood Gods, we're comrades with shared convictions."

"Good day, Sir." Gu You quickly saluted both of them.

The young man waved his hand. "There's no need for formality in the Blood God Battalion. Just call me Blood One like everyone else. If Xue Ba brought you here, then there must be something about you worth our attention. Let's hear it."

Gu You nodded. He already knew who this man was now—Wu Qing Douluo, one of the few quasi-divine Limit Douluos on the continent.

Xue Ba replayed the video once again and explained Gu You's situation in detail.

Elderly Blood Two looked utterly astonished. Blood One, too, furrowed his brows deeply.

After a while, the group's conversation naturally shifted to Blood One's situation.

"Big Brother, if the Federation and the Tang Sect need us, we'll do our part without hesitation." Blood Two said seriously to him.

Blood One waved him off. "This was Tang Sect's mistake. There's no need to involve yourselves. I'll handle it on my own. All of us come from different backgrounds—Tang Sect, Shrek Academy, the War God Temple, and the Spirit Pagoda. But ever since we came here—especially since joining the Blood God Battalion—our lives no longer belong to ourselves..."
