He simply couldn't stop eating!
Even after finishing, another half an hour passed.
"Time to settle the bill. That'll be sixty-six thousand four hundred and thirty Federation coins, let's round it down to sixty-six thousand," the shopkeeper walked over to Wu Zhangkong and said.
Among this group of ten, only he appeared to be an adult. Elder Cai looked older, and the rest were clearly just kids.
Wu Zhangkong glanced at Gu You. At that moment, Gu You was gazing at the ceiling, as if he could see the pleasant weather beyond it.
'Settle the bill? Not in this lifetime.' He was already buried in debt. How could he waste someone else's hard-earned money—no, it wasn't wasted. It was goodwill money. Also known as "free food."
"Here," Wu Zhangkong handed over the payment.
"Let's go," Elder Cai stood up. They had just arrived in Tianhai City and happened to hit lunchtime, only for Gu You to drag them here for a seafood feast. The cost wasn't cheap, but to a Title Douluo like Elder Cai, it was nothing—especially when someone else paid.
The Federation had set their assembly point at the Tianhai Grand Hotel.
The Xingluo Continent envoy would gradually arrive to gather here before departing from Tianhai Port by ship. They had brought their own ships, and this time, the Douluo Continent would also dispatch one to accompany them—so they could retrieve Gu You and the rest of the exchange representatives a year later.
The Tianhai Grand Hotel was the most luxurious in the city.
The group traveled there by car and quickly arrived. After all, not every city was as massive as those on the Douluo Continent.
Wu Zhangkong handled the check-in. Shrek Academy's name was golden everywhere. Soon, they received their room cards. Wu Zhangkong and Elder Cai each had their own room. The students were grouped two per room: Gu You and Xie Xie, Xu Lizhi and Le Zhengyu, Yuanen Yehui and Ye Xinglan, Gu Yue and Xu Xiaoyan.
"Rest up first, then enjoy some free time. Just make sure you're back before dark," Wu Zhangkong reminded them.
"Got it!"
The rooms were excellent—each double room was sixty to seventy square meters and had an ocean view.
Looking out at the sea instantly relaxed the heart and mind.
Gu You had been found by the sea as a child, so he had always felt a natural closeness to it.
He raised his eyes to the sky in silence, his gaze sharp and firm.
Over the next few days, Gu You spent nearly all of his time cultivating in the hotel.
Three days later, word came that everyone had arrived. The Xingluo Continent envoy would soon depart back to their homeland.
The first floor of the Tianhai Grand Hotel was packed.
Over a thousand representatives from the Xingluo Continent were present, elite figures from various sectors. The Douluo Continent's return delegation was also sizable. Though the hotel lobby was spacious, it was still filled to the brim.
The Shrek Academy group stood quietly in a corner. A Federation liaison had already visited Elder Cai to make arrangements.
Elder Cai had resumed her usual cold demeanor and did not converse much. She simply stated that the Shrek team was ready and could depart at any time.
Gu You stood nearby, looking toward the Xingluo envoy.
They didn't appear very different from those on the Douluo Continent—just that their clothing was more traditional in style.
More and more people poured into the lobby, yet the event remained orderly under official management.
Just then, a booming voice echoed through a soul amplifier across the lobby.
"Greetings, everyone. I am Pan Wen, Secretary-General of the Federation. I will be leading this cultural exchange to the Xingluo Continent. In a moment, the Xingluo delegation will board first—please take buses number one through twenty-five. Then, our Douluo Continent group will board buses twenty-six through fifty-two. Each department, please start counting heads."
When dealing with so many people, organization was always a challenge. But the Federation was highly competent. The over two thousand combined members from both delegations left the hotel in order and boarded their soul-powered buses.
The fleet of buses, escorted by a specialized mecha guard team, departed for the port.
Gu You sat near the back, aisle side. Beside him by the window was Gu Yue.
Gu Yue rested with her eyes closed. They hadn't seen each other much in the past half year.
"What's your dream?" Gu You broke the silence.
Her eyes opened, blinking slightly.
"Come on, people need ambition, right?"
'People?' She didn't respond at first. Then she smiled.
"My dream is… to be an enemy of the world."
Gu You stared for a moment, then smiled softly.
"Then good luck. If you can't beat the world, come find me."
"Sure," she said, her smile deepening.
The port wasn't far. As the sea came into view, so did two enormous ships.
Both were at least five decks tall and glinted with metallic luster. They were armed with visible soul weapon cannons.
The sea was far from tranquil. According to the Federation, the number of soul beasts in the sea once surpassed those on land by at least fifty times. Since land soul beasts had nearly gone extinct, humans had turned their attention to the sea. Though numbers had since decreased, sea soul beasts remained a significant presence.
Only ships with such formidable attack and defense capabilities could make ocean voyages. And each of them was worth an astronomical amount.
Gu You had once heard a joke—people said that Xingluo's envoy brought warships partly to flaunt their military prowess. But if they thought they could match the Federation's tech, they'd need another ten thousand years.
After disembarking, everyone boarded the ships. The two ships didn't separate the groups by continent—instead, they were deliberately mixed. This, supposedly, was for better cultural exchange.
As students of Shrek Academy, they didn't draw too much attention… until the boarding process.
"Elder Cai, greetings," said Pan Wen respectfully, personally stepping forward to greet her.
Pan Wen was a middle-aged man of average height, in his fifties. He had a balding head and very ordinary features. But he was known as a rising star in the Federation's political world—and some said he was in the running to become…
