Not to mention Zanpakutō — especially Bankai — is the greatest secret of a Gotei captain.
But now?
In order to maintain the stability of Soul Society and ensure the safety of Central 46, Aiyan simply said, 'It doesn't matter, he is too weak,' and allowed Jūshirō Ukitake to hand over all historical information about him to Urahara Kisuke.
That fearless spirit.
That scornful defiance toward Soul Society.
It made the captains present feel a deep ache in their hearts.
"Aiyan."
Even Urahara Kisuke, though feeling slightly irritated at the moment, had to admit that Aiyan was telling the truth.
After their first clash just now—where Aiyan crushed him using only Hakuda, without even relying on Reiatsu—he felt, deep down, that compared to the man before him, he was truly far too weak.
So weak that no matter how carefully he planned, even if he knew every detail about his opponent, it would still be meaningless.
However, he had no intention of giving up the book Jūshirō Ukitake had tossed to him, the one containing Aiyan's entire history.
"How could this be?"
"Kuchiki, Tsunayashiro, the Great Spirit Book Gallery…"
"It's completely different from what I know. Could he have altered the history recorded there?"
Urahara Kisuke continued flipping through Aiyan's record. It contained details about his mastery of Zanjutsu, Kido, Hakuda and Hohō, as well as certain Shikai abilities of his Zanpakutō. Although those intrigued him, what he truly sought was evidence against the Aiyan brothers.
"Since Urahara Kisuke is so eager to read my history, Captain Jūshirō, please also give him Aizen's copy."
Before Urahara Kisuke could speak, Aiyan had already turned to Ukitake.
"Is that alright, Aizen?"
"Although it is indeed a bit shameful to have someone examine my entire life in front of me, if it can protect Central 46 and prevent chaos, I have no objection."
Aizen was clearly confused by the turn of events—understandable—but after a brief internal struggle, he nodded in agreement, allowing the book containing his full history to be handed over to Urahara Kisuke.
"Still not enough…"
Urahara Kisuke was not shy. After taking Aizen's book, he immediately flipped through it—page after page, from the time Aizen entered the Shinō Academy to the very last entry.
He found nothing—no incriminating evidence—only the great achievements of the two brothers. It was as though the Great Spirit Book Gallery had deliberately chosen to record only their most glorious deeds, completely avoiding any dark chapters.
"Don't waste your time, Urahara Kisuke."
"If you want to dig up the stains of Captain Aiyan and Lieutenant Aizen, it's not impossible. Before entering the Shinō Academy, they caused many killings in the 80th District—fighting over water, over food, even for shelter. But from the moment they stepped into Seireitei until today, Captain Aiyan has lived up to the title of Shinigami hero."
Jūshirō Ukitake watched Urahara Kisuke's expression shift repeatedly. Then, with a cold smile, he pulled out a third book from his haori.
"These two won't give you the history you want."
"Here—perhaps this will interest you."
Without further explanation, he infused his Reiatsu into the book.
A familiar holographic projection appeared.
Only this time, it was from Urahara Kisuke's own perspective.
It showed him, Kuchiki Ginrei, and Kuchiki Kōga conducting a secret Hollowfication experiment.
It showed Kōga falling out with Kuchiki Ginrei, joining forces with Hirako Shinji to Hollowfy others, triggering the Kuchiki Mansion Hollow incident.
It showed him and Kōga sneaking into the Great Spirit Book Gallery, killing Tsunayashiro Tokinada, and assassinating Hikifune Kirio and Shutara Senjumaru.
The later events had yet to be recorded, but just these images were enough to shock every Shinigami present.
Especially Byakuya Kuchiki, whose hatred could not be washed away by all the water in the world.
"Do you see it now?"
"If that's still not enough, I can bring you the records of Kuchiki Ginrei, Kōga, and Hirako Shinji—so you can fully appreciate your sinful life from multiple perspectives, Urahara Kisuke."
Ukitake snapped the book shut.
Snap.
Urahara Kisuke said nothing. He simply tossed the two books on the Aiyan brothers to the ground.
He looked at Aiyan, then at Aizen, then at the Great Spirit Book Gallery, his expression dark, eyes flashing.
"Aiyan."
"You performed soul surgery on Captain Kirio and Lieutenant Shutara right in front of me. Was that deliberate?"
"To mislead me into thinking you had mastered the ability to alter souls and memories—so I wouldn't suspect something else?"
After a pause, Kisuke suddenly fixed his sharp gaze on Aiyan.
"In the Great Spirit Book Gallery incident, Captain Kirio personally testified that I attacked her and Lieutenant Shutara. Not because you altered their souls, but because you cast an illusion—not only on Captain Yamamoto, Captain Jūshirō, and Captain Kyōraku, but on the entire Gotei 13."
"That includes the 'history' in these three books."
"Am I right… Aizen Sōsuke?"
He turned toward Aizen, who still wore a pleasant, almost charming smile.
But though his lips smiled, the eyes behind his glasses were no longer gentle. His presence shifted—his appearance the same, but his aura transformed completely.
It was a confidence and cold arrogance that placed him above all—
Like a god.
"So you've noticed, Urahara Kisuke."
Aizen smiled faintly, drew his Zanpakutō, and spoke the words of release.
"Shatter… Kyōka Suigetsu."
The air around the blade cracked like broken glass before returning to normal.
"I can weave and craft illusions at will, trapping my targets within them. It deceives all five senses, even a Shinigami's Reiatsu perception, even the exploratory senses of a Menos Grande."
"This is Kyōka Suigetsu's true Shikai ability."
"From the very beginning, the Aiyan Sōsuke you thought you knew, and the Aizen Sōsuke you thought you knew—never existed. We have deceived the entire Soul Society."
Urahara Kisuke walked up to Ukitake and waved his hand in front of his eyes. The veteran captain didn't even notice. Then Kisuke looked at the book that recorded his own history.
Its contents had changed.
No mention of the Kuchiki Hollow incident.
No Tsunayashiro genocide.
No Great Spirit Book Gallery crimes.
Only he could see the truth.
To every other Shinigami present, the illusion woven by the Sōsuke brothers was absolute. They would remain trapped in it… forever.
