Chapter 43 - Chapter 43: A Sneak Peek At The Magic Continent

The day after the savage beating of class 2A.

"Good morning students! Oh, I see you are all on time today!" An eyepatch wearing Professor Sun in a pirate's outfit cheerfully greeted us as he entered the classroom. After his illusion enchantment was dispelled by the principal yesterday, he decided to keep his scar faced appearance, much to the schoolgirls' dismay.

"Now then, todays class will be on-"

"TEACHER!!!" Kenji cut him off as he stood up from his desk.

"Sit down, you punk!" Professor Sun said while giving him a glare. However, the bodybuilder was not detoured as he continued.

"HOW DID YOU DO IT!" He yelled.

*SMASH*

Just then, the mad professor teleported next to him. Grabbed him by the shoulder and pushed him so hard into his seat he went through the chair.

"I appreciate the sudden enthusiasm, but if you have a question then you have to follow the proper procedure. Did you learn nothing from yesterday's lesson?"

Just then I decided to raise my hand.

"Hey, how did you-"

*Smash*

Just then that lunatic grabbed my head and smashed it into my desk, imprinting my facial features into it.

"Yes, brat nr. 1. You have a question."

I raised my head to see my classmate Aiko just sitting there, quietly raising her hand.

"Hey, why only are you just-"

*smash*

As my head was smashed back into the poorly made desk, I could hear the mad professor speak.

"If you have a question, then you raise your hand and wait until I say so. You hearing me brat nr.2!?" Apparently, this mad professor was angry when I spoke out of turn.

Too weak to resist, I just gave him a thumbs up while he was holding my head down.

"Good! Now, brat nr. 1. You had a question?"

"Can you teach me how to make that golem from yesterday?"

Instead of asking the mad professor about how he beat up a tier 5 spellcaster as well as the top students of the academy with nothing but his bare hands. This little purple haired girl with golems for brains just wanted to know how to make that chalkboard golem, that to be fair, seemed to be rather strong as it protected us from all the friendly fire.

"Ah! You liked it? If you keep coming to class, you will likely be able to make one yourself by the end of the year." The mad professor said, as Aiko's eyes began to light up with excitement.

"Hey…Uh…!"

Just then, Kenji tried to interject but soon closed his mouth as he recalled the mad professor's words, at the sight of him turning to glare in his direction. After learning his lesson, he raised his hand in silence.

"Yes. Brat nr.3?"

"Professor Sun. How did you use those cultivation techniques yesterday?"

"Ah! Those weren't cultivation techniques you witnessed yesterday."

"THEN WHY DID IT LOOK JUST LIK-... Ugh! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHH!!!"

*Bonk*

"DON'T YELL INDOORS!" The mad professor yelled back before extending an ominous looking black pole from the palm of his hand and lightly tapped it on Kenji's head, which sent him rolling and screaming on the floor in pain, despite how light a hit it seemed compared to the normal punishments.

"Let me introduce too you all an old favorite of mine from back when I taught my own disciple. This is the 'Pain Stick'. It produces unimaginable pain to whoever comes in direct contact with it."

He said while grasping it in his bare hands, while showing it off to the whole class.

"Next time I find one of you brats breaking the rules or being late for class. I'll be bonking you on the head with this." He said as he pointed it right in front of my face.

Looking at my comrade in suffering as he was screaming in pain on the floor, I nudged my desk and chair away.

"Anyways, as for your question brat nr. 3." He said as he bound and gagged Kenji, while pulling out a new chair for him to sit on from his dimensional storage space.

"What you witnessed yesterday was what is called, body enchantments. And much like how cultivators circulate their qi to produce an effect in the form of what you call a cultivation technique. I channeled my mana into the enchantments engraved on my body to do the same." That lunatic said.

"Yes. Brat 2."

"Could you stop calling us that? And also, isn't it dangerous to enchant your own body?"

"No to the first and yes to the second. Enchantments can often malfunction or deteriorate over time if not properly maintained. About half the scars you see on my body was caused as a result of that."

"Then why do it?" Brat 1 asked after I gestured to her to ask her question.

"Because the other half came from an enemy." He said as he began walking back to the front of the classroom and sat on his desk.

"Have any of you ever been to the magic continent? No? Then let me paint you a picture." He said, before snapping his fingers as numerous enchantments lit up the classroom walls, floor and ceiling.

Soon after the room began to change in appearance, as we were suddenly sitting at our desks inside a jungle while numerous monsters and people of various races fought.

"It is a cruel and unforgiving land where only the strong and clever survive while the rest suffer and die. It's littered with countless beasts and monsters that'll take more than just your life if they catch you." He said while we saw a group of green little men tear of the clothes of a woman behind him.

"The reason why it's called the magic continent isn't just because of a cultural difference from the other martial continents. It is because no one has the time to sit around meditating while the world burns down around them. You might think the beast population is the reason why I'm saying that, but you're wrong. For the worst monsters in that place is your fellow man. As they struggle to survive, they will absolutely do and say anything to get what they want, even if that means sacrificing their own friends and family." He said as the chaotic bloodshed around us disappeared, and we returned to the classroom.

"So, if there is anything you should take away from my lessons it's this. An experienced mage from the magic continent is a hell of a lot scarier than a mage of the same tier from this one." He said as the room began to dim, only for it to return to normal with his next words.

"With that out of the way. Let's start today's class."
