Chapter 8: The Price of Divinity

Erebus's actions did not go unnoticed. Some of the gods, particularly those whose power and authority were threatened by his influence, grew suspicious of his motives.

Zeus, in particular, became wary of Erebus's growing influence. He saw him as a potential rival, a force that could destabilize the carefully constructed order of Olympus.

He confronted Erebus, demanding to know his intentions. Erebus, however, refused to reveal the full extent of his plans. He simply stated that he was acting in the best interests of the gods and mortals.

Zeus, unsatisfied with this answer, ordered Erebus to cease his interference. He warned him that if he continued to meddle in the affairs of Olympus, he would face the full force of his wrath.

Erebus refused to be intimidated. He knew that he was right, that the gods needed to change if they were to survive. He was willing to risk everything, even his own existence, to ensure the future of the cosmos.
