Chapter 69 - Chapter 69: Jealous Miura

Chapter 69: Jealous Miura

That Yui actually made little cookies for that deadfish-eyed guy. And she didn't even poison him!

For four whole classes in the morning, Miura Yumiko kept thinking about the scene she saw early that morning.

Her silly little follower, Yui Yuigahama, after finally deciding to follow her own wishes yesterday, had already started giving cookies to the guy the very next day!

Leaving aside why her cooking genius hadn't poisoned Hachiman Hikigaya, why didn't she make any for her?

Seeing the corner of the cookie bag sticking out of Hikigaya's drawer, Miura ground her teeth in frustration again.

She had painstakingly supported that idiot Yui from first year to second year, and yet Yui made cookies without preparing any for her...

Especially since Yui pretended nothing had happened and, as soon as class ended, came over to Miura acting all obedient, but was actually secretly watching Hikigaya!

Thinking of this, Miura's anger flared up sharply. Not only did she not get cookies, but Yui used her as a cover while sneaking a look at that Hikigaya guy!

Could Miura tolerate that? Of course not!

"Boss, calm down, calm down!" Just as Miura was about to slam the desk and rise up to go give Hikigaya a hard time, Ebina Hina grabbed her arm tightly.

"Ebina, what are you doing?" With Hayama around, Miura didn't want to cause a big scene. Seeing Ebina hold her firmly, Miura had no choice but to sit back down, glaring fiercely at Hikigaya.

"What did I do?" Miura's sudden move earlier had caught the attention of nearly everyone in class, including a bored Hikigaya.

Noticing the fierce, jealous, and slightly resentful look Miura gave him, Hikigaya scratched his nose cluelessly. "Seems like we never really interact, so why's she giving me that look?"

What Hikigaya was thinking, Miura had no idea.

Right now, she was rubbing Ebina's face with both hands, questioning why she was stopping her from causing trouble for Hikigaya.

"Well, I just feel like if you go over there, you won't get anywhere..." Ebina said cheerfully, rubbing her short shoulder-length hair.

"Are you saying I'd lose to that guy?" Miura tightened her grip on Ebina's face a bit more. He's just a deadfish-eyed guy, and Ebina thought she couldn't get anywhere with him? That was infuriating!

"Of course not! Boss, you're brilliant and strong. Except for Hayama, there's no one in the class who can stand up to you. How could you lose to him?" Seeing Miura's dangerous gaze, Ebina quickly buttered her up.

"Then why do you say I can't get anywhere with him?" Flattery really worked. Miura's expression softened and she let go of Ebina's face, continuing to ask why she shouldn't mess with Hikigaya.

"Because I don't know either..." Ebina adjusted her glasses on the bridge of her nose.

"?" Miura's gaze turned dangerous again.

"I really don't know!" Seeing her boss about to punish her, Ebina hurriedly waved her hands and said mysteriously, "Boss, haven't you noticed his aura has been changing recently?"

"Changing?" Hearing this, Miura frowned instinctively. He's just a deadfish-eyed guy. What kind of changes? He's still just rotten as ever, right?

Thinking that, Miura shifted her gaze seriously onto Hikigaya for the first time.

"Huh?" Just by glancing at him, surprise appeared on Miura's face.

As the queen who absolutely ruled the second-year class at Sobu High, Miura naturally had sharp, eagle-like eyes.

Unfortunately, she had made two mistakes at the start of the year by ending up with Ebina and Yui, two fools.

But that didn't stop her from immediately noticing Hikigaya's change.

"This guy feels so strange..." Frowning, Miura voiced her feelings. On the surface, Hikigaya looked completely hopeless and decadent.

But when she looked carefully, she saw a confident sparkle in his eyes.

Especially when he looked at the others in the class, including her, his eyes showed a detached, superior expression, which annoyed Miura a lot. Just a deadfish-eyed guy, but he's so arrogant!

"See? Boss, you noticed he's strange too, right?" After hearing Miura, Ebina made a smug "Told you so" expression.

"But even if he changed, I'm not necessarily at a disadvantage."

Miura still resented that she couldn't get anywhere with Hikigaya. She was the queen of the second-year class at Sobu, so there was no way she'd be defeated by the unremarkable Hikigaya.

Especially since that annoying guy was about to take away her silly little dumpling! She couldn't swallow that and not cause some trouble for Hikigaya.

"Then boss, you can find other ways to bother him. No need to go directly..." Seeing Miura unwilling to let it go, Ebina helplessly used her trump card.

"What ways?"

"The Service Club, boss, do you know about it?"

"The Service Club?"

"Yes, yes, Hikigaya is a member. That club accepts requests for help..."

"Ah, so sleepy..." Completely unaware two girls were quietly whispering about him behind his back, Hikigaya rubbed his heavy eyelids and yawned.

Meditating couldn't replace sleep—those novels were all lies!

If it weren't for him accidentally falling asleep during training last night, he would have slept through Shizuka Hiratsuka's literature class this morning, and then gotten punched by her.

But come to think of it, during class today, Shizuka Hiratsuka's gaze toward him seemed a bit off. Why was that?
