Laziel's face became increasingly dark, and he took a deep breath. He snatched the bowl and tossed it away, sending the porcelain shattering on the floor and the broth water splashing.
Meira let out a frightened shriek. His eyes landed on her once more, and their eyes locked briefly. She shuddered at the darkness swirling in his eyes.
The current Laziel was scary. She had never seen him like that.
There were also flashes of realization in his eyes, as if the things he had been ignoring placed themselves like missing pieces of a puzzle.
