Chapter 2 - Chapter 002: My saviour.

She looked up, her eyes widening. There was a man standing in front of her; his back was facing her.

Before Jasmine could thank her saviour, Rover and Angelina rushed to her side, giving their hands to her.

Rover was the first to break the silence.

"Are you okay Lady Jasmine?"

"Surely, your not hurt right?"

Questions were being followed after one another leaving Jasmine to answer their questions rather then look for her saviour. She just smiled at everyone who was concerned for her and thanked them all for worrying about her.

When everyone stopped crowding Jasmine, she rushed to find the man from before but he was gone. He had vanished.

The host seeing that everyone was stable in the ballroom cleared his throat to gather the attention of everyone that is present in the room.

"Is everyone okay?"

"The knights Including I do not know how the monsters broke in but we are deeply. We were careless and almost put everyone here in danger including Lady Jasmine."

He stated while looking away from the crowds eyes feeling ashamed and regret.

Jasmine smiled at him through the crowd and walked up to him through the crowd; patting his shoulder, she looked at the crowd and spoke softly:

"I'm sure none of us here could have predicted that we would be attacked, so please don't put pressure on yourself as life is truly unpredictable."

Someone from the crowd raised their hand, speaking their question.

"Was sir ares not meant to come?"

Collective agrees were heard through the ballroom filled with dead monsters, when the host answered their question.

"I believe, he won't be coming. I thought I saw him enter and help us, but he's not here, likely meaning he never came."

10:15 PM.

Jasmine was curled up in her bed thinking about the man that saved her. If only she hurried then she would have been able to save her saviour and thank him. Now her mind is all focused on him and him alone.

She remembers seeing the sword being covered in blood when he had pulled out that sword from the monsters chest. It was filled with blood, more blood then she had ever seen in her entire life growing up, but then again her father never let her leave the castle without escorts and at that, she was only allowed to go to the annual festival.

She got up and just walked towards her mirror staring at herself, trying to remember anything more about the man but nothing came to mind - leaving her disappointed.

Before she could process anything else, someone barged in and hugged her so tight she felt like her life was being squeezed out.

She managed to mutter a single sentence,

"Cant...breathe...."

The figure who was hugging her tightly let her go instantly, as jasmine stared at her father who seemed to have concern written all over his face.

Despite being her father, she never resembled him. Not even a tiny bit, from what everyone and her family members would say: "Your an exact copy of your mother and not your father."

"Daddy."

"Daughter."

As he gulped before hugging her again and then letting her go.

"Why didn't you tell me you were attacked in the ballroom? Should I have that hosts head that invited you? I knew I shouldn't have you go alone."

He started rumbling talking about the worst scenarios about anything happening to his daughter.

"Daddy, I'm right in front of you, am I not?"

Those words made him stop assuming the worst and just nodded.

He started rubbing his white hair and sighed.

"I'm just worried. I don't want to lose you like your mother."

"Daddy, I know that."

He threw himself onto the bed and just stared at her with his emerald eyes before patting the seat next to him as jasmine joined him. He wrapped his arms around her shoulder and laid her head against his shoulder.

"Who saved you? what knight was it? Which estate did that knight belong to?"

"It wasn't a knight.."

"really? it was a noble man then?"

"No."

"Lady?"

"Not exactly."

"Then who was it?"

"I don't know. When I opened my eyes, he was standing there with his back facing me and then all of a sudden when the monsters are dead, he was gone as if he just vanished."

"That seems like a shame, I would have payed him money for saving my daughter and thanking him personally."

"Do you remember anything about him?"

He added.

"No, the only thing I remember is his sword, it was long and covered in blood."

"Maybe, if you ever see his back again then you'll recognize him?"

"That's not how it works father."

"Okay okay, well after todays events, you should rest. I'll see you in the morning at the dinning table?"

He kissed her cheek and left closing the door lightly.

Jasmine just stared at the ceiling before crushing into the blankets and letting sleep take over.
