Chapter 74 - Loss of Control

Lily's hands were clearly shaking, but she was completely unaware until someone pointed it out to her. At the same moment, the broken porcelain pieces she was holding crunched and turned to dust, as if completely out of control. "I... I don't know what's going on..." Lily waved her hands nervously. "I didn't use any force..."

Kevin was also filled with questions, but seeing the panic on Lily's face, he was the first to calm down. "Don't panic. Relax. Don't move. Vivian, do you know what's going on?"

Vivian carefully observed Lily's eyes, which were brighter than usual. "It seems like you're inexplicably aroused... Did you eat something weird? Stimulants?"

Lily was on the verge of tears. "No, I only had one steamed bun this afternoon. I was so hungry just now that I had no energy..."

Kevin didn't even bother eating. He noticed that not only were Lily's hands shaking, but her entire body was trembling slightly, as if she was losing control of her muscles. He quickly helped the werewolf girl up. "Go to the sofa and rest for a while... Relax!"

As Kevin helped Lily to her feet, he noticed her muscles were incredibly stiff. He felt as if he were holding onto a piece of unyielding steel. Lily, however, simply shook her head vigorously. "I can't let go. If I do, I'll lose control of my strength. Landlord, please don't help me. I'm afraid I'll accidentally throw you out... ah, I really did!"

Lily's arm moved carelessly, and Kevin felt as if he were being swept away by a speeding truck, even knocking over Vivian, who was closest to him. The werewolf girl was filled with panic and fear. She wanted to help, but seeing her hands trembling and losing control, she could only stand still. She carefully sat down on the sofa, but as she placed her hand on the armrest, she scratched a large hole in the sofa. Kevin and Vivian awkwardly helped each other to their feet. Luckily, their physical enhancements were still strong enough; in the past, this injury alone would have kept them hospitalized for two weeks. They cautiously approached Lily and saw the werewolf girl huddled stiffly in the corner of the sofa, afraid to move, as if she feared the slightest breath would tear the house apart. "It's probably a sudden loss of power, along with some unexplained mild excitement, but he's still quite conscious," Vivian, the only person on the scene with some familiarity with werewolves, had no choice but to act as a doctor. She told Lily not to move, then bravely stepped forward and flipped her eyelids. "There's a slight congestion under your eyes. Open your mouth so I can see your tongue... So, you really haven't eaten anything strange?"

Lily shook her head mournfully, "No, I really don't know what's going on!"

The werewolf girl was nearly in tears. She had never been sick in her life, rarely even experiencing a scratch, leaving her completely inexperienced with illness. This was the first time she'd encountered any physical problems, and the normally timid woman was instantly panicked. Kevin was also desperate, helpless, and could only pin his hopes on Vivian: "Do you know how to treat werewolves?"

"I don't know at all," Vivian shook her head frankly. "...You look quite professional, rolling your eyes and checking her tongue."

Vivian turned away. "It was only after I finished the examination that I realized I couldn't treat illnesses!"

"What should we do?" Kevin spread his hands. "Take her to the hospital?"

Vivian pointed at Lily's ears and tail. "What department do you think we should see? What doctor can treat this?"

Kevin thought for a long time and decided that if Lily really needed treatment, he would probably have to find a veterinarian. "Oh, right, the veterinarian!" Kevin slapped his head. "Lily, aren't you a veterinarian yourself?"

The werewolf girl slammed the back of the sofa. "I usually treat dogs, but I'm a werewolf! I can't treat myself, okay... Oh, sorry, the sofa's broken."

Kevin silently stared at the broken backrest, too busy to get angry. He could only pin his hopes on the last important figure present: "Yzaks, do you have any ideas?"

Yzaks shook his head bluntly: "There's no such creature in the Demonic Abyss, and I'm not a doctor."

Kevin translated the Great Demon's words, and Lily immediately lowered her head dejectedly. "What should I do then... Am I infected with some terminal illness? Bat, do you know what to do when a werewolf gets sick? You can't treat them yourself, but at least you've seen a lot of werewolves, right?"

"This..." Vivian's expression was odd. "Usually, when a werewolf gets sick, I celebrate with a nice meal."

Everyone: "..."

"You're just being sarcastic!" Lily's tail bristled with anger. "Maybe this is your fault! Ever since I saw that red moon you created a few days ago, I've been feeling unwell. Maybe today..."

"Wait!" Kevin interrupted Lily. "You mean the red moon? What red moon?"

"It was the day we first met the big guy," Lily pouted. "The bats summoned a huge red moon. I took one look at it, and I felt sick instantly. I felt sick for days afterwards. It was all because of the bats."

Kevin finally remembered the wonder he had seen that night: the demonic sea of fire floating in the sky and the blood-red full moon summoned by the vampires facing each other. The spectacle was still vivid in his mind. However, he didn't think anything of it afterwards. He just thought that Vivian, who seemed so calm and composed, could be so powerful in a crucial moment, capable of facing off against a demon of Y'zaks's caliber. As for the blood-red full moon... he didn't feel a thing at all. But now it seems Lily is reacting to the moonlight.

"Is it really related to the moon?" Kevin looked at Vivian, expecting her to retort, but surprisingly, Vivian nodded hesitantly. "It's hard to say... The Blood Moon does affect many races. I used it once, a long time ago, and it drove a tribe of werewolves mad. But I was controlling my power that night. The moonlight only made the big dogs a little uncomfortable, so there shouldn't be any aftereffects. Besides, hasn't it been all these days? My Blood Moon should have been ineffective after canceling it."

"Oh, right? We can ask that Raven 12345!" As everyone was in trouble, Kevin suddenly thought of a powerful outside helper. "She asked me to take care of you, so if anything happens, you should report it to her. How about Vivian, please spare a moment and we'll take Lily there now..." "No, at least until tomorrow morning," Vivian stopped Kevin, pointing out the window. "The full moon is still four days away, and the moonlight right now is irritating to Lily. If she goes outside, her condition will probably deteriorate immediately, and she might even go berserk."

"The question now is how we get through tonight," Kevin nodded, his gaze returning to Lily. Her shivers had subsided for the moment, but her hands were still shaking violently, and her golden eyes were a little cloudy, their increasingly bright golden light unsettling. "Lily, are you still conscious?"

The werewolf girl nodded, "Fine."

Kevin, worried, asked again, "What's one thousand nine hundred and ninety-nine plus one hundred?"

"Two thousand."

"That's it... This is just insane!"

"Insane," Vivian slapped Kevin on the shoulder. "She's not always right, and this is her normal state!" Vivian and Kevin fiddled with each other, but saw no results. Finally, Y'zaks, standing by, offered a crucial idea: "I think the most important thing is to stop this little girl from moving around. She's too destructive right now, and she can't control herself. Forcibly suppressing her like this would not only waste our energy, but also easily hurt others. Do you have a sturdy rope or chain?"

"Don't bother," Kevin sighed. "She could easily break a chain as thick as a bowl with one hand. She doesn't have any special skills, but her strength is simply outrageous."

Y'zaks spread his hands: "Then the only thing left is to knock her out."

"Even dropping a ten-ton rock on her head might not knock her out," Kevin said, looking at Y'zaks. "But if you take action, it should be possible."

Y'zaks waved his hand: "I won't fight. I can't do it. It doesn't go against my rules."

Kevin wanted to explode: As a demon, what on earth are you doing with such high moral consciousness? "Then I'll do it myself..." After Kevin translated Y'zaks's suggestion, Lily looked pitifully at the three people around her, deciding to thank them for their concern by actively cooperating. However, she raised her hand and gestured at her head a few times, still feeling a little uneasy. "I'm not going to accidentally kill myself like this now, am I?"

"If you can't bring yourself to do it, let me do it," Vivian gestured. "But I don't think I can knock you out immediately, and magic might not be enough, so it'll take a long time..."

Just as she finished her words, there was a loud bang, and Lily knocked herself out with a single punch.

Kevin stared in astonishment at the werewolf, who had fallen asleep and was breathing steadily. "Actually, I was going to say... the data terminal just said it has a way to temporarily control Lily's symptoms."

Vivian: "...Ha, ha, let's go eat, let's go eat..."
