Chapter 25 - The Search for the Perfect Gift (1)

It took me roughly 2 days to complete my home, which would drive many contractors nuts back on Earth. The more I built and the more I did it, it became easy as hell. By the end of it, it felt like it was something I had done my whole life, despite only just learning a couple short days ago.

This also means that roughly 2 months had passed back home, but it didn't even phase me that much. The only thing that worried me was that my mom was still with that asshole the whole time. I would be going back to help her soon, but this whole ceremony was an important event, not just for Cici and I, but most of the village as well. I had actually met with and got to know a few more people in the village, and everyone here were good and solid people.

My clothes had arrived, and they were simple cloth tunics and pants, with surprisingly comfy yet sturdy shoes made from the same stuff. Apparently, the infusion of mana into the clothes you were making could alter them in many different ways, including self cleaning, extra comfort, sturdiness, and even more beyond that. They were black, of course, so I liked them, but I would definitely be wearing my "evil" outfit whenever I left the village. It just looked cool as hell, at least to me, and Cici agreed, so of course it was nice.

Our furniture was still being made, and that wouldn't be ready for another day or so according to Theodore, the man making my furniture specifically. He was a nice brown haired man, Cat Beastkin obviously, and he was nearing 60 years old, although the man didn't look a day over 30. While all of that was being done, I was moving on to the next step of the marriage ceremony, which was getting a gift worthy of Cici. I had a few ideas of what I wanted to get her, but I had no idea where to get something good enough for her in this world.

"Wait a second..." I thought, remembering the town I had rescued everyone from, "Clarissa might be able to help me."

I decided it was the best chance I had to find something nice for my lovely kitty, so I got dressed in my villainous get up, and decided I would fly there real fast and see if I could find her to ask her about something I might be able to get her. Anya had recommended a ring, which was what I was thinking, but finding one that was perfect for Cici was imperative to me. She deserved nothing short of the very best.

"Where are you going, my love?" Cici asked as I began to slip on and tie my boots.

"I need to go and find you the right gift, remember?" I said with a smirk, and she pouted.

"Stupid ceremonies. I don't need anything. Having you is enough for me." She said, and I had just finished tying my boots, so I stood up, walked over to her, and put my arms around her waist, pulling her close to me. She began to purr very loudly.

"I want to do this for you. You deserve the world, but I feel like that's a bit much, so let me do this for you instead. I want to do this for you because I love you dearly, and I want you to be my wife. I'll do whatever is asked of me to make that happen." I said, and Cici began nuzzling into my neck and chest, purring and licking me as she did so, before leaning up and capturing my lips in a delicate kiss.

"You're the sweetest man I could have asked for." She said, rubbing her nose against mine, making me chuckle.

"Only for you." I replied.

I did try to be nice to as many people as I could, but since coming to this world, I wasn't given that luxury right away, and because my change, I had no internal issues with myself over killing those that got in my way, and who deserved it. I'm pretty sure I've killed a good amount of people guilty of sexual abuse, so I saw it as a plus in any case.

"Well, you go then, fulfill the next step in the ceremony. After that, there's only one left before it is complete... and then we get the mating ritual." She said that last part with flushed cheeks, and I smirked as I held her again and kissed her one more time.

"Looking forward to it. All of it." I said, releasing her, and then headinf towards the door.

"M-me too... love you Eli." She said, her voice soft and shy.

"Love you too, kitten." I said, making her blush again.

Once I was outside, I summoned my wings, and since they were made of my Abyssal energy, they didn't tear open my clothes or anything. That wasn't true for my True Abyssal Form, which I found actually had me growing real wings and a tail. I'd have to wear clothes I didn't care about if I was going to do that. To be honest, I don't think I even had to use that form, as it seemed like overkill. I was just really pissed off the last time I did it, so it was kind of an unconscious effort.

I jumped into the air, the motion causing the air to scream around me as I took flight. I didn't have a passenger this time, so I was able to fly at full speed, and man... I was fucking fast. Flying at full speed, the town was below me in less than 10 minutes, at least if my estimations were correct. I didn't bother landing at the front, as I just flew right towards what was now Clarissa's estate, and landed right at the front gates.

There were numerous people outside cleaning up as well as rebuilding what Ixhad torn apart, although they were obviously new faces. Both men and women were in various states of dress from full armored plate to simple every day clothing as they picked up debris, rebuilt structures, and they were even using magic to full in holes. I still saw some blood residue on the ground from my little escapade the other day.

Unlike a lot of the previous people working for the baron, these people had pretty good feeling souls, at least as far as I could tell. No one has done anything so heinous that it was unforgivable. Clarissa had chosen people well, and in such a short time too. I didn't want to really deal with anyone though, so I flew around the place, hoping to find another way in to see Clarissa. I struck gold, as I actually found her overlooking the city on a balcony on the side of the estate, and she was poking and tapping away at the air in front of herself. Messing with system screens, no doubt.

I landed right next to her with a small thud, causing her to scream and jump nearly 10 feet into the air. She actually tipped backwards as she landed, and she began to fall over the side of the balcony, but I grabbed her hand and pulled her towards me.

She stood there, blinking and dumbfounded as she looked at me.

"E... Elias?" She asked me, and I grinned.

"Clarissa, so nice to see you again." I said with a smile.

She just continued to stare at me. Then, she looked at where her hand still clutched mine, and she went red, and gently pulled away from me.

"I-Its so great to see you again... I didn't think I'd see you for a while." She stammered, and I chuckled. She was kinda cute if I'm being honest.

"Well, you were the only person who I thought could help me." I said, and she perked up.

"What do you need??" She asked, her shyness now replaced with an eager joy.

"I need a wedding gift for Cici, and I was hoping you had something that I could use." I said, and she went back to staring at me again as her eyes widened.

There was a few extra moments of silence before she suddenly shouted,

"YOU'RE GETTING MARRIED?"
