Chapter 9 - Leave It To Me, Mr. Davion

After they were finally separated from Yohan and Stephanie, Claudia could breathe a little easier. She felt so sick of being around Yohan and also his new woman let alone listening to their words.

Realizing that, Davion glanced at her eyes then spoke again.

"It's only natural for you to feel jealous. Yohan came with another woman and he didn't even say anything to you," he said thinking that Claudia was jealous of Stephanie being with Yohan.

"No, I don't feel jealous seeing them together," she replied.

"Really? Even if Yohan looks close to that woman, I'm sure he'll be loyal to you and won't betray you like his mother did. He's a good boy and I raised him well," the man said again.

Hearing his words, Claudia somehow felt guilty, sad and also angry because of how much Davion trusted his son. But his son was very similar to his wife who had betrayed him.

Moreover, the man was actually used, to the point of being destroyed in the past.

"You know, sometimes it's not good to trust someone too much. You can get hurt by them," Claudia said bluntly.

"Are you saying that I shouldn't trust my own son too much?" asked the man, whose tone suddenly became eager and flat.

It was as if he was not happy with what Claudia had said about his son.

"Precisely because he is your son." she turned her head towards him, looking at him with a serious gaze but still with tenderness. "It hurts a lot when someone so close to you betrays you."

Davion flinched slightly when he heard that sentence.

"You must understand how that feels, right?"

For a moment there was silence between the two of them, as if they were lost in their own thoughts thinking of all the possibilities that would happen.

What Claudia said was true, he had been betrayed by his own wife. Someone he trusted and loved so much in the past, but she chose another man behind his back.

And seeing from how Yohan's attitude had been lately, Davion seemed to realize something was indeed different from his son. It kept spinning in his head, making him daydream a little.

Until, Rowant Bridget realized their presence nearby and greeted Davion.

"Aren't you Mr. Davion Davidson? The owner of the AIHA company," he greeted them.

Realizing from his reverie, Davion turned his head then began to show his business smile and shook Rowant's hand.

"That's right, my name is Davion Davidson the owner of the AIHA company. It is an honor to meet you," he said.

"It's a pleasure to meet you too. So who is the beautiful young lady who came with you?" Rowant asked again while turning to Claudia who was next to him.

"Oh she is..."

Seeing Davion who hesitated to answer, Claudia took action by immediately extending her hand to Rowant.

"My name is Claudia Ornella, I'm a freelance writer who writes some corporate articles belonging to some big Zondalian companies," she replied and then her hand was shaken by Rowant.

"Oh, you're the famous Ms. Ornella, aren't you? I sometimes read your articles, since you always put your initials at the end. I like the way you write those articles and your way of writing is really very good," he praised.

She bowed slightly, thanking him for the compliment.

However, they met not to talk about that but business where Davion wanted Rowant to cooperate with his company.

"You want me to work with your company?"

The CEO of the AIHA company nodded his head, explaining that he needed someone like Rowant who was well versed in technology and could definitely help in the development of the health technology his company was developing.

However, when Davion intended to explain in more detail, Claudia stopped him and instead said that she would come to Rowant's house to explain further.

"I don't think it would be good if we explain it here because you must have other things to do. So if it's okay, we'd like to invite you to dinner at Mr. Davidson's residence if you don't mind," she said.

She said that they would explain about the project further after the dinner.

Actually, Claudia's decision had not been discussed with Davion, which was why the man felt somewhat surprised when Claudia invited Rowant to have dinner at his house.

"Ms. Claudia, what do you mean by that? We can't just suddenly invite Mr. Bridget to my house because he must be very busy," he whispered.

"Sshh... Let me do the talking," Claudia whispered back while tightening her grip on Davion's arm.

For a moment it seemed that the man was thinking about the decision of the offer. But finally Rowant nodded his head and he said that he would come to dinner at Davion's house.

"Well, my schedule is busy but the day after tomorrow night I have time to come to your place, Mr. Davidson. Here's my business card and number. Send me the location of your house and I'll come there," he said as he gave his business card.

Davion was again surprised because it was unusual for Rowant to give his business card to another person if he was not interested in the person's offer.

'He gave me his card? What exactly is Claudia trying to do?' he thought at that moment.

"Well, thank you and we'll be sure to contact you for my home address," Davion said, accepting Rowant Bridget's business card and putting it into his coat pocket.

The man then excused himself as he had other business elsewhere that night. Davion and Claudia nodded their heads and watched the man leave the banquet.

After he left, Davion turned back to Claudia and began to question why she had invited Rowant to dinner at his home.

"Mr. Bridget is notoriously a very picky person, including when it comes to food," she replied.

"Really? Then do you know what kind of food he likes?" he asked again.

Claudia confidently nodded her head, with a smile on her face.

"Of course I know what I'm going to cook. Just leave everything to me. I'll make the dinner and I'm sure he'll be impressed."

He knew that the young woman's cooking in front of him was very good indeed. But, would it be enough to impress Rowant and accept his project with just the food Claudia was used to making?

Although somewhat hesitant about the decision, but Davion nodded his head and said that he would buy the ingredients Claudia needed for dinner the day after tonight.

"Alright, I'll entrust all of this to you. I hope you can do well, because this will greatly affect the future of the company," he said firmly and tried to believe in her.

A confident smile now graced her beautiful face at, then she looked at Davion and said again.

"Just trust me, everything will be fine. Because I know what I'm going to do."
