The three garrison soldiers hung way back behind the Shield Guards.
"It's weird, why did they send us to collar Demi?"
The tailing job was boring as dirt, so one of them started grilling his buddies.
"What do you mean?"
Another didn't get it, so the last guy spelled it out:
"He means that among small-time fighters, Demi's no pushover.
We three are pretty run-of-the-mill ourselves among the small-timers."
"?"
Seeing his buddy still looked lost, the guy kept explaining with a sigh:
"Going by how we usually do things, nabbing such dangerous criminals would definitely mean sending a sure-fire team.
Normally, the squadron leader would head up chasing low-level psychics."
That guy looked thoughtful:
"...Now that you put it that way, it really is fishy!
It's like..."
The three looked at each other:
"...They wanted Demi to get away!!!" × 3
But they were even more stumped.
If that was really the deal, why not clue them in ahead of time?
