Chapter 14 - 14 - Arriving sensitivity

Johan arrived at the company walking like he'd just run a half marathon and taken a pillow beating at the same time. Suit sharp, face closed off, but… limping just a little. Kang, on the other side of the room, smiled like he'd just won the lottery.

— Why are you walking like someone who fell down the stairs and actually liked it? — Adrian said.

— Back problem.

— A back that arches nicely. — Kang muttered from the back.

— ...Ah. I'm gonna pretend I didn't hear that.

— Me too.

— Kang Mingell, stop pretending you work here. The project's over.

Adrian turned to the younger one.

— Then why do I still have access?

Adrian looked at Johan.

— Johan, access should've been revoked after three months! That was the plan.

Johan shrugged and replied:

— He has access until the end of the year...

— Why only until the end of the year? Johan, I'm not leaving that soon.

He said without getting up from his desk.

Adrian could have kicked him out, could have done anything. Johan always kicked out his exes. Adrian would do anything to see his boss doing well… And Kang seemed to be doing that better than him.

So, he left the room.

Kang didn't take long, he left the room and quickly came back heading towards Johan's desk.

— Good morning, President. — Kang said, placing a cup of coffee on his boyfriend's desk without even hiding the look scanning him from head to toe. — Slept well?

Johan, with a "don't mess with me" air, just walked by. But the blush on his ear gave him away.

— I'm fine, thanks.

— You sure? You're walking like you fought the furniture... or someone very dedicated.

Kang raised an eyebrow.

Johan clenched his jaw.

— Cut it out. We're professionals.

Kang shrugged, smiling.

— I'm working too. Just evaluating the side effects of my performance. So far: excellent.

Johan almost choked. Kang came closer, voice low in his ear, without even touching.

— If you want, I can do the service again today. But I can go slower this time... or not.

— Kang! — Johan growled, but his shaky breath gave away that it wasn't a real no.

Kang stepped back, satisfied.

— Relax, boss. Today it's just security installation. I'm here to make sure your body's system is still sensitive to touch.

And it was.

And it would keep being.

[3 years and 6 months later]

The old Kemun company headquarters was now just an empty building with "for sale" signs.

And him? Jailed for fraud, money laundering, and drug trafficking affiliation.

They say his pride cost him everything.

No one cried for him.

Not even his son. Who, by the way, was the one who kept his promise to put his father behind bars.

Meanwhile...

At the top of a modern building, with a panoramic view and decent coffee, Mingellcorp, now renamed KG Solutions, Kang was coming down the elevator.

Johan arrived by car in front of the new headquarters. His hair was shorter, sunglasses on. He stopped, and Kang came out the main door.

Johan rolled down the window:

— Mr. Hild, I need you to come with me.

— Court order? — he asked.

— Kiss warrant.

Kang got in the car, smiling.

— Three and a half years, and you still catch me off guard.

— That's so I never forget why I married you.
