"Save us Ryn, help us," the loud voices screamed into his ear, and Ryn gasped out loud, his body jerking upward and his eyes fluttering open to see Mira and Thane staring down at him with concern.
"Are you alright?" Thane asked with a worried look.
He nodded weakly and let out a groan as a sharp ache spread across his forehead. "What happened here?" Ryn asked as his gaze shifted towards the sea of fire.
It was still blazing hot, yet there was no sign of the monstrous creature anywhere. He remembered clearly that the creature had vanished the moment they defeated it and he had blacked out afterward.
But even now he could not help imagining where it had gone. "How long was I out?" he muttered.
Mira lifted her hand and began counting on her fingers. "I have no idea since time here flows differently," she said, pointing toward the dark sky above. "We cannot even tell if it is day or night, but all I can say is that you have been sleeping for hours."
