Hauntusk surged forward like a living shadow, his body trailing misty echoes behind him. In a blink, he flickered through three positions—front, left, right—leaving behind ghostly afterimages.
Luna's eyes darted.
She didn't hesitate.
Fsssh!A sharp Water Gun hissed through the air—but it passed straight through an illusion.
Jimmy's fingers flicked in a sign.
"Behind!"
Luna twisted mid-air. Just in time.
Hauntusk's bone claws raked across her side, sending her spinning through the air. A collective gasp rippled through the arena.
But Luna didn't crash.
She used the momentum—flipping once, and with a growl, launched a spiralling Water Pulse. The impact burst through the mist, forcing Hauntusk to phase away with a shriek.
The crowd roared. The fight was on.
For the next thirty seconds, it was a dance of strikes and dodges—Luna weaving, spinning, leaping through the air, narrowly avoiding Hauntusk's shadowy claws. Her glowing fins carved streaks of blue light, while Hauntusk's skeletal limbs slashed through ghostly space.
Whip—Crack—Boom!
She struck back with a direct Water Gun, forcing him to retreat into the mist.
Both Whisps finally retreated to their starting positions, staring each other.
Jimmy's hand moved again, sharp and certain.
"Water Wave."
Suddenly, from Luna's legs , a massive surge of water erupted and rolled across the match arena like a rising tide.
Krav's eyes widened. "Tch. You think a slow wave can touch my Hauntusk?"
Hauntusk grinned and darted to the left, then right, zigzagging across the platform with a mocking swagger.
Krav chuckled "C'mon, show me something real, mute boy!"
Just as he prepared to phase out through the wave —Jimmy snapped his fingers.
The sound echoed.
A shimmer passed through the wave.
Krav's smirk vanished.
"What—?"
Before Hauntusk could dodge, a voice pierced his mind—
"Quickly, dodge!"
Too late.
From the very wave he underestimated, three Lunas exploded out in unison, each with glowing eyes and bladed fins.
SPLASH! SLAM! CRACK!
They struck from different angles—one upper, one flank, one from below—slamming Hauntusk mid-air.
The entire crowd jumped to their feet.
"Three Lunas?! Is that cloning?! Illusion?! How'd he—?"
"Even A-class student's whisp couldn't land a hit on Hauntusk!"
"That much control over each attacks. How did he train her?"
Announcer shouted "What just happened?! Did Luna really pull off a triple clone mid-battle?! That's… that's not in the manual!"
Krav gritted his teeth as he saw Hauntusk managed to land near the edge of the ring, panting. But Hauntusk has barely had time to recover—
FWOOSH.
A cold mist flooded the arena, crawling across the stone floor and rising around their feet. Visibility dropped instantly.
The crowd fell into awed silence.
"He's... changing the environment?"
"That's not weather control—it's her power! Aqua mist"
Suddenly, a blue glow lit up the fog.
Krav's eyes widened.
"Top. I need the high ground—now!"
He leapt, phasing upward just in time. But in the mist below, a sharp, rushing form streaked toward him:
Aqua Tackle.
Luna shot up like a torpedo, cloaked in spiralling water, aiming straight for Hauntusk.
But Hauntusk was waiting this time.
"Shadow Ball!"
Hauntusk hurled a dark orb downward with all his might. It collided with her mid-tackle, exploding in a burst of black energy.
BOOM!
Both Whisps were thrown back in opposite directions—Luna to the mist, also for Hauntusk slightly above the fog, floating.
For a moment, the mist swallowed everything.
Then—
"She's moving again!"
"Where? I can't see her!"
Hauntusk landed, disoriented. His breathing ragged.
But Hauntusk focused—eyes narrowing—trying to sense her presence.
Step. Splash.
In his sense, two Lunas emerged from the mist, one on each side.
"Which one is—" Hauntusk started.
"NOW!" Krav shouted.
"Shadow Claw!"
He twisted, slashing forward with his spectral claw—
But those Luna vanished into a puddle. A decoy.
Hauntusk staggered, off-balance.
And in that split-second he felt a power surge but vanishes instantly —
FLASH! Another blue glow surged distance in between fogs.
The real Luna dove between the fog-laced sky, coated in radiant water.
Aqua Tackle—fully charged.
"Got you!" Krav shouted and hurled all his stored power into one final Shadow Claw, aiming to clash head-on.
The attacks collided—
BOOM!
An eruption of water and shadows cracked the stone floor beneath them. The shockwave pushed mist out from the centre like a shock ring.
..............................
Meanwhile, Krav stood tall, seemingly unfazed by the latest exchange. But a flicker of confusion danced in his eyes. There were no shouts, no calls—Jimmy hadn't spoken a single command.
Yet Luna moved with flawless timing. She countered, dodged, and struck as if she could read the future.
A ripple of murmurs passed through the crowd.
"Wait a second… he's not saying anything. Rumour is true""Then how's she moving like that?""Is it—telepathy?""No, look closer… his hands."
Several students leaned forward. A few gasped.
"He's controlling her with mind."
From the blue team's bench, Velka narrowed her eyes, her voice low and stunned."He's not just giving commands… they're syncing. What a deep bond they have!!"
She watched as Jimmy simply tapped two fingers to his palm, and Luna immediately shifted posture—ready for the next move before it even began.
...............................
Hauntusk and Luna both landed back on the ground, panting, tails flickering, their energies flickering like dying embers. The mist had cleared. The water on the arena rippled from residual power.
Announcer shouted again in joy. "What a tackle. What a power showdown between two primary powerful whisp."
Krav sneered, his voice sharp and defiant across the arena.
"Don't play like kittens—fight like beasts!"
Jimmy tilted his head, grinning ever so slightly. It wasn't mockery. It was confidence.
Krav narrowed his eyes with his hands fall down .
"I didn't want to use this... but you forced my hand."
He pointed forward.
"Haunty—Go top! Use: Anti-Spiral Dark Particle!"
Gasps erupted from the audience.
"That's a high-tier ghost-type technique!"
Announcer said "No way, a Primary Pet is going to use high tier attack just in mock battle. I don't think he can withstand that!"
"This is the Hauntusk's real power! I don't he can use a high tier in primary form."
"Krav really taught him well, that A class student did not even come close to this."
Hauntusk obeyed, phasing upward fast—higher than Luna could reach. His skeletal body began spinning, curling into a spiralling vortex. Ghostly mist and purple-black sparks began to condense around him. Above the battlefield, he spun faster and faster, forming a deadly spiral of energy—like a dark meteor gathering mass and rage.
"This isn't just a move... he's trying to end it in one strike," the announcer said breathlessly.
Below, Jimmy remained calm. He raised both palms and brought them together in a single, deliberate clap.
CLAP.
Suddenly—the entire arena began to shift.
Water surged out from the tiles below like a hidden reservoir had been unleashed. Waves rippled outward, forming a shimmering current around the battlefield—but never spilling beyond the ring.
Announcer shouted in disdain this time "That's Class B strategy for you—unexpected, risky, and brilliant! I don't know what is this foolish move he is going use"
The platform was submerged in a field of raging water, shimmering like liquid glass under the midmorning sun. Luna's glowing body began to dissolve, merging with the water itself. Her fins melted into the currents. Her presence vanished.
"Where did she go?!"
"Is that... water merging?"
"Did she vanish?! No—she became the water!"
Announcer exclaimed "That is a water type pet characteristics called 'Water Body'."
From his height, Krav paled.
"Delay it, Haunty! Delay the spiral!"
But Hauntusk couldn't. The move had drained him. His reserves were nearly empty. He could delay for ten seconds, at most.
And then—the spiral dropped.
A terrifying, high-speed rain of ghost particles descended from the sky like a torrent of black comets, shrieking as they pierced the air.
Fwwwhooooooshhh!
"It's coming down!!"
"That's going to end the match!!"
But then—
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
Six massive pillars of water erupted from the arena's edges. Towering whirlpools shot upward like underwater geysers, slamming into the descending spiral mid-air.
Each strike detonated like a blast, disrupting the shape, tearing it apart.
"What?!"
"Counter pillars?!"
"He broke the spiral!"
Announcer shocked and exclaimed "Anti-Spiral Dark Particle? That's an elite finisher—and yet, Luna countered it with a water field setup! Incredible presence of mind from both tamer and Whisp."
Jimmy narrowed his eyes.
"He poured everything into that... but he couldn't finish it."
The sky cleared.
And then—silence. But in field there is still smoke of collision.
Hauntusk began to fall. His spiralling descent slowed into a tired float. The ghostly beast was smiling faintly, certain that the battle was over.
He saw Luna—still, motionless—at the edge of the ring, steam rising from her body.
Krav let out a weak chuckle from across the arena.
"Even if I lost... she's down. It's over."
But the arena was quiet.
Too quiet.
The referee hadn't blown the whistle.
Krav frowned.
"Ref? Why haven't you called it?"
Something clicked in his mind.
"Ghost sense. NOW!"
But it was too late.
**The "Luna" at the edge flickered—**and disappeared into mist.
"A clone...?" Krav whispered.
Suddenly—splash!
From the water on the arena, a hidden Luna emerged at point-blank range, her eyes glowing and fins sharpened like blades. She fired a Water Gun straight at him.
Hauntusk tried to sidestep—just slightly, barely dodging the brunt.
THWACK!
The water still clipped him. It was enough.
Hauntusk got out of the ring.
BEEEEEEEEP.
The referee's whistle echoed through the stadium like a final bell.
"Hauntusk OUTSIDE RING. Ondirael VICTORY."
The crowd exploded.
"HE WON?! HE WON!!"
"UNBELIEVABLE!!"
"Class B took down Krav!"
"That was a trap! He used the spiral against him!!"
"That wave wasn't just to stop the move—it was to set the field for Luna's ambush!"
Announcer said in loud voice "Hauntusk is out of the ring! That's it! Ondirael takes the first round—unbelievable!"
The camera panned to the scoreboard, where Team 1: Jimmy, Aaro, Velka now lit up in blue.
The announcer's voice cracked slightly with excitement:
"Ladies and gentlemen—we have just witnessed a masterclass in field control, deception, and endurance." Announcer said in loud voice
Krav slumped to his knees, stunned near to Hauntusk.
"How... did I lose?"
There was no answer.
Just a whistle. A roar.
And Jimmy, walking toward Luna—who reformed from the water, gently wobbled, and collapsed into his arms there are still battle signs all over her body.
He took her back in his mind's garden. After that you all know that.
