Soft sunlight fell on the lake, turning it into a blue mirror. Nearby, the water from the waterfall splashed and roared, and next to it — on the emerald grass — sat Lin, meditating with his katana, breathing quietly and focusing all his attention on it.
Suddenly, he slowly opened his eyes and looked at his katana, slightly smiling.
"Contact is getting closer and closer... I feel that if I continue training with the blade like this, then in a week or two, I should be able to make Contact with it... That's certainly encouraging."
Lin stood up from his spot and slowly closed his eyes. He took a small step forward and swung his katana diagonally — from bottom to top!
Whoosh!
But Lin didn't stop there — he stepped forward with his other foot and slashed the blade downward!
Whoosh!
The wind parted, and Lin continued to move gracefully with the blade, as if dancing with a partner. His movements were calm, and each strike carried within it months of training.
Whoosh!
