Chapter 1 - Prologue – The End Before the Beginning

Life was never easy for Lucien.

Born as the only heir to a powerful and wealthy lineage, his only living relative was his grandfather. His parents had died when he was a child, taken from him in a plane crash. That left his grandfather—a fierce war general turned iron-willed businessman—to raise him.

But fate can be cruel.

When Lucien turned nine, his body became a prison. He was diagnosed with a rare, incurable disease that left him bedridden. His once-strong limbs were reduced to bone and pain. Doctors from all over the world tried everything they could think of. His grandfather didn't care about the cost—money was never the issue.

Time was.

And yet… Lucien smiled.

He smiled because even though his body was failing, his mind soared across worlds. His hospital room became a library filled with manga, manhwa, comics, and light novels. Series like Solo Leveling, Re: Monster, Marvel's Mutant Saga, DC's Multiverse, Tensura, and one of his favorites—High School DxD.

These stories were his escape.

Using his family's fortune, he began to support struggling authors. Small manga studios, unknown web novelists, aspiring comic artists. He poured money into their dreams, naming it his isekai investment fund. He asked that his name never appear in the news, but for those creators, Lucien was a silent guardian angel.

Near the end, the machines around his bed beeped slower, their sounds growing hollow and distant. The nurses and doctors shed quiet tears in the hall, questioning why such a kind young man had to die so young. His grandfather, looking older and more tired than Lucien had ever seen him, grasped his grandson's frail hand just tightly enough not to hurt him. The old man didn't say a word—he just held on, silently begging any god who would listen.

Then Lucien spoke, his voice barely louder than a whisper.

"Grandpa… please don't cry. I can finally leave this pain behind… but promise me—spend the money you used on my treatment for kids. Orphanages. Schools. Give someone else a real chance."

The old man choked back tears and made a silent promise.

Lucien closed his eyes, taking one final breath. The scent of paper, ink, and sterile air filled his lungs. His final thoughts weren't of anger or self-pity—but of regret.

That he couldn't take those worlds he loved with him.

His only wish was simple:

If I had another life… I'd want it to be one of those crazy fantasy worlds. Magic, devils, dragons… adventure.

And then—

The Voice

Came the voice.

["You who knows the fate of many… shall be born among them. Rise, child of Crimson."]

There was no tunnel of light. No peaceful descent.

Just raw power—cosmic, ancient, eternal—shattering and reforging.

Lucien's soul burned.

Twisted.

Transformed.

Knowledge and chaos spun around him. Divinity hummed in his bones.

And then… silence.

[Underworld – Gremory Mansion, Years Later]

Grayfia Lucifuge cradled her son in her arms, her ever-composed face softened by a rare warmth. Her silver hair shimmered under enchanted lights, and her steel-blue eyes—so often emotionless—glowed with maternal pride.

Sirzechs Lucifer, her husband, stood beside her. Tall. Regal. Crimson eyes burning with quiet power and fierce love.

"He's special. I can feel it," he murmured.

Grayfia nodded. "He's ours… and he's aware."

The infant stirred.

Lucien—no, this Lucien—opened his eyes. Weak in body, but unbroken in mind. He looked at the woman holding him.

Grayfia. The Silver Queen. My mother.

Sirzechs Lucifer. The Crimson Satan. My father.

And I know exactly how this world ends if no one steps in sooner.

His tiny hand gripped Grayfia's finger with unnatural strength. His newborn eyes shimmered with quiet resolve.

This time… I won't be a bystander. I'll protect Rias. My family. Maybe even Issei. But I'll do it my way.

Life as a Devil Prince

Lucien's childhood was unlike any other.

The first child was born from the Crimson King and the Ice Queen. A symbol of power. Legacy. Hope.

He was raised with the weight of nobility on his shoulders—endless lessons in magic, tactics, etiquette, and devil history. Every move was observed. Every mistake was noted.

But Lucien met it all with quiet focus.

Only one person ever saw the real him.

Rias Gremory.

She was just a month older—technically his aunt—but titles didn't matter to them. From the day they met, they were partners in chaos.

"Lu Lu, if you stole my pudding again, I swear—"

"It was in my fridge. Possession is nine-tenths of the law, Ri Ri."

Their bond was forged not through blood, but through friendship. Trust. And something else—

Otaku Royalty

Lucien never forgot his old life. Not the books. Not the authors. Not the dreams.

He asked his parents to find certain books and comics from the Human World—specific ones by name and description. Sirzechs and Grayfia, curious and indulgent, managed to acquire them through both diplomatic channels and magical means. Eventually, rare volumes of manga and manhwa began to appear in the Underworld.

He introduced Rias to them, and she devoured the stories with the same hunger he once had. They held late-night reading marathons, arguing over which characters would win in crossovers, mourning tragic endings, and dreaming up stories of their own.

They debated Rimuru vs. Ainz. Plotted rewrite arcs for Solo Leveling. And once cried for an hour after finishing Your Lie in April.

To the rest of the Underworld, they were noble heirs.

To each other?

Supreme otaku royalty.

But there was one title Lucien never found in this world.

High School DxD.

The only story missing. The only truth he kept locked away.

Because in that story, he knew too much.

And in this world—he had the power to change it.

The Eve of Change

Years passed.

Lucien and Rias neared their coming-of-age ceremonies. Soon, they would receive their Evil Pieces. Soon, they would form peerages. Forge legacies.

But Lucien had trained for more than ceremony. He prepared for threats no one even knew existed. Kokabiel. Rizevim. Trihexa. And the silent wars fought behind dimensions.

He didn't want to control the story.

Just protect the people in it.

This world gave me a second chance. I won't waste it.

Far above the Underworld skies, beyond the eyes of gods and devils, something ancient stirred. A formless presence—watching.

Waiting.

Its attention is fixed not on Sirzechs.

Not on Rias.

But on the boy with memories of another life.

He was Lucien Lucifuge-Gremory.

Son of the Crimson King.

Heir of the Silver Queen.

Scion of two worlds.

And his story…

Was just beginning.

**

A/N

There will be a system but won't come into play till later chapters.

The Mc and Rias will not develop feelings for each other but the same is not for her other peerage members.

There will be a harem, romance, and r-18 chapters but later on in the story. Lucien will build up his relationships.

Hope everyone likes the chapter and I'm open to feedback.
