Victoria tried to hold back her tears in front of everyone, because if she did, it would prove she was weak and defeated. She actually wanted to laugh at everyone in the room for carelessly slandering her without first knowing the facts. She felt like she wanted to spill her secret to avoid any further misunderstandings.
However, on second thought, if she had just revealed that she was married to Matthias, would the situation have improved? This was what made her still doubt her decision. Should she keep quiet about this until Matthias allowed her to tell him about their marriage?
