Chapter 5 - Chapter 5: I Really Hate You

Matthias was getting more and more breathless hearing his wife's crazy idea. Even though it was clear that their relationship was very harmonious and sweet until everyone was jealous of them. Was there no hope that their relationship would return to how it used to be? Should he treat his wife coldly so that she would regret it?

His right hand clenched tightly and he felt like punching himself. If two years ago he had not followed his parents' wishes to be assigned to a foreign branch, would he have been able to maintain their relationship even though it took a lot of struggle?

"Contract marriage? Are you kidding me?"

Victoria smiled sarcastically, touching the handsome CEO's shoulder. "Yes, I actually want to test you and I will follow your wishes. You have to conquer my heart for two months. If you fail during those two months, then I will go back to my fiancé."

Meanwhile, Matthias did not show any anxious expression. He immediately kissed his wife's hand confidently. "Okay, I won't be afraid of you. I'm sure that in just a month, you will be crazy about me!"

"We'll see. If you lose the bet to me, then you will be humiliated for the rest of your life."

"No way. Dealing with this problem is much easier than work problems." His eyes narrowed at the diamond ring that had been catching his attention all this time. "By the way, why did you wear that ring as your necklace?"

"Why is that? Does that necklace seem familiar to you?"

"No. I don't think I ever gave you that necklace." Matthias didn't want to lie to his wife, but he was forced to do so because he was determined to start their relationship over.

"How about this ring?" Victoria deliberately showed off her ring confidently to encourage her husband.

"You have to take off that ring if you want to be in a relationship with me! You have to call off your engagement immediately!"

"Don't worry, I'll end all this. Are you satisfied?"

Matthias immediately kissed his wife's temple enthusiastically. "I can't wait to date you again like before."

Victoria slapped her husband's hand away roughly. "Don't be happy yet! Of course I won't easily give in just because you're being sweet to me!"

However, somehow Victoria felt familiar with the current atmosphere in the tower. Suddenly a piece of memory flashed through her mind showing a romantic scene between her and someone on a date in this tower. It was a shame that her memory was still vague so she didn't know who the man she was dating at that time was. Was it really Matthias?

She could only watch a scene when she was enjoying the view of the night sky with her lover. They laughed happily and played tag. It only lasted a few seconds, Victoria could see that the man's posture was very similar to Matthias. Now she stared at Matthias with a sad gaze. For some reason, looking at Matthias made her want to cry continuously.

Her head still hurt because for the first time a memory had appeared in her mind after two years of not remembering anything. Her vision was a little blurry and her body was still weak. Luckily, Matthias hugged her body before she really collapsed to the floor.

"Victoria, are you okay?"

Victoria nodded nervously, holding back tears of sadness. "I'm fine. I just feel tired."

"Then, I'll take you home now." Matthias immediately carried his wife's body quickly.

"Let go of me, Matthias! I don't want to be carried by you!"

"But I want to carry you." Matthias blinked his right eye casually.

"I won't forgive you, Matthias! I just asked you to have a contract marriage, but you–" Victoria suddenly felt like her head was about to explode, making Matthias panic even more.

A few minutes later on the way to the penthouse, Matthias immediately carried his wife into the elite penthouse. He didn't even expect his wife to enter the password, which was their engagement date. Does this indicate that his wife actually still has special feelings for him? One try has succeeded in breaking into the penthouse.

Matthias was actually very curious, how far Victoria could remember the events in the past. Seeing his wife's panic and fear until she turned pale, he was very sure that when she was in the tower, her memory was starting to recover.

Matthias took the initiative to lay his wife's body on the bed while covering her supple body with a blanket.

"Go away, Matthias!" Victoria screamed, turning around to avoid the handsome CEO.

"But, your condition–"

"Don't you have ears? I want to be alone now! I'm sick of seeing you!"

"Victoria… do you really hate me so much?"

"Yes, I really hate you now. That's why I made a marriage contract that will make it difficult for you to fulfill the requirements. Because of you, my dream is ruined now. I can't marry the man I love!"

In the end, Matthias chose to give up rather than let his relationship be destroyed further by his selfishness. He walked weakly towards the bedroom door while turning his head.

"Now I want to ask you. On what basis did you create your home door password?"

"You don't need to know. It's none of your business! Even though we are legally married, I never considered you as my real husband!"

"But, I'm sure your heart still remembers the meaning of your door password. Only I know it."

Victoria immediately threw a pillow at her husband. "Get out of here before I throw you out!"

Matthias was still smiling happily even though his wife hated him so much now. He was still stubborn. Even though his wife had kicked him out earlier, he still wanted to stay in this penthouse. He lay down on the living room sofa, then used his jacket as a blanket.

"Even though that date is our engagement date, you still don't remember it. Indeed, your feelings for me can't lie to me."

The next morning, Victoria woke up feeling weak because today she had to cancel her engagement with Ansel. Now she was thinking about how to make Ansel not hate her too much.

As she walked towards the kitchen, her eyes widened as she stared at the figure of the perfectionist CEO cooking in the kitchen.

"Matthias, what are you doing now?"

"I'm cooking breakfast for us."

Victoria folded her arms. "Who told you to?"

"Aren't we going to sign our marriage contract today?"
