Chapter 4 - time skip

(Arceus POV)

It's been a hundred years since I first arrived in this world, and a lot has changed.

First off, the various races that Discord scattered with his chaotic powers now inhabit the ecosystems he created. These environments range from snowy tundras and dense jungles to peaceful meadows. The creatures living within them quickly adapted to their new homes and began developing rapidly.

In just fifty years, they had established proper hunting methods and agriculture, to the point where food scarcity was no longer a concern. They built homes suited to their environments and even began understanding the magical nature of the land—Equis.

Fifty years after that, they had already formed small civilizations, teaching the young and passing on knowledge through generations.

Strangely enough, all the races spoke the same language from the start. They developed it during the first decade of their existence—an impressive feat of cooperation and intelligence.

I was genuinely impressed by their rapid and efficient development. Discord, however, was less entertained. He found their focus on survival and necessity rather dull.

So, he decided to introduce a little... chaos.

Periodically, he would visit the different races and shake things up, forcing them to adapt in strange and magical ways. The chaos he introduced often triggered mutations—some beneficial, some detrimental. These visits continued regularly for about eighty years after the second decade.

I, too, made occasional visits—not to create chaos, but to reverse the harmful effects of those mutations. My actions brought balance, healing those who were negatively affected.

Over time, our interventions led to the formation of a religion. The different races began to revere us and called their belief system Harmony.

According to their faith, the Chaos Bringer—Discord—would descend upon the land, bringing unpredictable transformations that changed creatures forever. These mutations often granted powerful abilities, but sometimes they were damaging. In such cases, another divine being would appear—the Judge, Arceus—who would heal the afflicted and pass judgment upon those who sought to destroy or corrupt creation.

Thanks to this religion, Discord and I were seen as gods. Creatures from all corners of the land would occasionally visit our homes.

Those who sought evolution or transformation went to Discord and received his "gift." These gifts were random—an extra limb, magical ability, or other odd changes.

Others journeyed to my mountain, seeking wisdom and knowledge. We had no real obligation to help them, but honestly, watching over them got dull, so we decided to interact with them from time to time—for guidance or just for fun.

Through time and natural evolution, one particular group of creatures began to stand out: the ponies. From ordinary horses, they evolved into three distinct races—unicorns, pegasi, and earth ponies.

They became smaller and more compact over time and learned to make and use tools. Interestingly, they could pick up and wield items using their hooves by infusing them with magic, functioning almost like hands.

They supported one another in achieving shared goals, showing signs of advanced cooperation. Unfortunately, they also developed a sense of racial superiority, looking down on any species that wasn't a pony.

This, naturally, led to tensions between the ponies and other races, making interaction difficult. Still, as long as outright war doesn't break out, things are relatively peaceful—for now.
