Chapter 5 - Chapter 5 “The Summoning (2)”

Chen Hao blinked. "500k Yen?"

Li Tianyu crossed his arms. "Yup. That's the emotional damage fee. Plus tax. Plus my time."

Chen Hao reached into the drawer beside his hospital bed, pulled out his phone, and tapped away without a word.

Ding.

Li Tianyu's own phone buzzed in his hoodie pocket.

 "💰 You've received ¥500,000 via Alipay."

Li Tianyu slowly pulled out his phone, squinted, and double-checked the app.

"…Wait. You actually had the money?"

Chen Hao gave a shy laugh. "Ah, yeah. My family owns a few hotels. And like… a theme park. Kinda."

Li Tianyu stared.

"You're a rich kid?!"

"Technically… I'm the disappointment of a rich family, but yeah."

Li Tianyu looked back at his screen.

500,000 Yen.

His eye twitched.

I should've asked for 1 million.

No—10 million.

Chen Hao smiled, relieved. "Also… I already paid for your hospital bills. Everything. Even the hospital socks that you're wearing right now."

Li Tianyu paused. Looked down at his feet.

"You bought me the socks?"

"Yeah."

Li Tianyu squinted. "I didn't expect you to be some rich guy, man. So like… how did your so-called ex even reject you? You're loaded."

Chen Hao looked down again, face going red. "She said I was boring. That I had no confidence, bad looks. Just money."

Li Tianyu stared at him.

"…Damn."

"…Yeah."

Li Tianyu nodded slowly. "Still. Sucks to be her."

"Right?"

"Right. I mean, look at me," Li said, waving at his face. "I'm broke, Orphan,You just need to work on the confidence, looks."

"…Thanks?" Chen Hao mumbled.

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA—"

Kento Sakamoto screamed as he plummeted through an endless tunnel of white light.

His hoodie flapped like a parachute. His cracked glasses almost flew off. Somewhere behind him, Li Tianyu was also falling—arms folded, totally chill.

"This is NOT OKAY!" Kento yelled. "Where's my keyboard?! Where's my controller?! Where the hell is my snack drawer?!"

[World Transfer in Progress…]

[Welcome to the lowest-tier fantasy world available. Hope you like goblins.]

"GOBLINS?!" Kento choked. "I didn't even finish my anime backlog yet!"

[Systen: Tf Animal Backlog, shut it up]

The light ended suddenly.

THUD.

He smacked face-first into dirt. Again.

"…My face is gonna be permanently flat at this rate," he groaned, rolling over.

When Kento finally sat up, he realized three things "Huh the sky was purple, With two suns, He was in a grassy field surrounded by forest and… skeletons?!"

Branches slapped his face. Thorns tore at his legs.

Kento didn't stop running.

Behind him? Goblins.

At least five. Maybe more. Maybe a hundred. He didn't look back.

"WHY ARE THEY SO FAST?!"

One of them screeched, right on his heels.

Kento chucked a rock without aiming.

It missed. Badly.

Another goblin threw something back—a rusty spoon.

"WHO EVEN CARRIES THAT?!"

Kento nearly tripped over a root, caught himself, and grabbed a stick from the ground.

He threw that too.

It bounced off a tree.

"USELESS!"

His bag was gone. His right shoe was gone. His luck? Also gone.

The goblins kept chasing, short legs moving like demonic toddlers on Red Bull.

Kento yanked out the only thing left in his pocket—his phone.

It still had 12% battery.

He hesitated.

Then screamed, "TAKE THIS, YOU NASTY SHREK MINIONS!!" and hurled it full-force behind him.

It hit one goblin square in the nose. A loud bonk. The thing face-planted into the dirt.

"HA! iPhone 12 Pro, baby!"

[Damage Dealt: -8 HP]

[Critical Hit: Pride Wounded]

[Phone Durability: 0%]

He kept sprinting, lungs on fire.

"Why is this my life?! I didn't even do anything yet!"

A goblin tackled his leg. Kento kicked it off and threw a pinecone at another.

It did nothing.

He saw a hill. With a sharp drop.

No time to think.

Kento dove.

He rolled. Hit a rock. Ate dirt. Came to a stop with a groan.

Above, the goblins stopped at the edge, shouting angry squeaks.

They didn't jump.

Small victory.

He lay there, face in grass, shaking.

"System," he whispered, "please tell me you've got something for me…"

Then the ground under him rumbled.

"…Nope. Not even gonna ask."

"…Wait, seriously?" Kento raised an eyebrow.

To test it, he stepped backward—straight into a trap hole.

CRACK!

The ground gave way and he fell.

Again.

Right onto a haystack.

"…Are you kidding me?!"

Meanwhile…

Far above, watching through a floating system window, Li Tianyu facepalmed.

"This idiot is my first summon?" he muttered. "I should've picked a Dog instead."
