Chapter 1 - A new Life and a new world

Caleb resided on his deathbed his last moments coming fast. 'I hope the afterlife isn't boring' he thought.

After a moment of silence he decided to pray for a new life in a new world. One of cultivation and fantasy, a life filled with new powers and mystery. Little did he know he would actually get his wish. The moment he passed away he felt his soul leave his body. On a journey he went, he saw countless worlds of wonder, new things hard to describe and new sensations now lost to time. he traveled until he saw a big planet attracted by force of gravity like a new body calling him home.

"WHAA, WHAA" the baby cried, "its a healthy baby boy" the nurse said. The mom Wu Ning said " his name will be Wu Zhi, may he go far on the martial path." The women smiled as she looked at her new son. "Strange, why did this child have blond hair". the nurse said. "who knows, it could be a genetic mutation, a sign of a bloodline awaking, a gift from the heavens, or a sign that I might have cheated on my husband." Wu Ning said. "Hopefully he treats this as a good thing its unknown what this could mean." she said. "Well its probably not a big deal, time will tell what it means" the nurse said. "Lets just make sure he is healthy and safe before anything else." Wu Ning said.

In the following years Wu Zhi grew up to be a stoic and happy boy, he helped cut wood when he was 4, washed dishes when he was 5, and helped take care of laundry when he was 6. It was around this age that his dad came up to him and said "son its about time you learned about the martial path." "what's that dad", "when people posses a spiritual root in their body they are able to go down a path called cultivation". When Wu Zhi heard this he was excited, he had been having dreams and distant memories of a life once his. It whispered the tale of cultivation the art of striving against the heavens to gain enlightenment and immortality. "it is the act of growing stronger by sensing and gathering qi and then using that qi to make your body stronger or to cast spells." his father said. "Wow, sounds awesome dad." "indeed it is... so I will be sending you to a doctor to see if you have spiritual roots. We will see if you can practice cultivation or not." "Do you have spiritual roots dad" the boy asked. "Yes I do, however the quality of the root is so poor no sect would take me in. That means if I practice cultivation not only would I do it blindly I would have little to no aptitude in Cultivation. But who knows you might have better roots than I do, and I'm betting on it." "Ok dad I'll go see a doctor to get tested." the boy said

The next day the boy went with his dad Wu Hao to go see a doctor to get tested. They went from there small but relatively non-remote village to there nearby city called Rivendale city. It was a city known for its waterways and natural defenses as one side was facing a mountain while the city had plenty of fresh water from rivers. "Stay close to me son, there are lots of people in the city its easy to get lost if you're not close to me", "Yes dad I'll make sure to stick close" As the duo arrived at the city they presented there identification reason for visit and entry fee to the guards. This was the real reason they didn't live in the city, it was expensive to live in not only just to visit. After they were let in they went strait to the doctor as for the sightseeing they can do that after. As Wu Hao did not know if there would be a line outside the clinic. It turns out he was pretty lucky as there was a small line outside the clinic probably be gone in 1 - 2 hours. As they waited for there turn Wu Zhi asked his dad about the quality of spiritual roots. "There are many types of spiritual roots, they can be divided by talent, element, and specialization or quirks, for instance I have a low metal spirit root with a specialization in meditation this means that my talent is poor, my main or rather best element to practice is metal and I have an increased ability to concentrate during meditation, for spiritual roots they mostly take on the 5 main elements: Water, Fire, Earth, Metal, and Wood. However they can take on unique elements as well such as: Wind, Ice, Lava, Light, Dark, Sound, and many more. For talent, we use a convenient scale of 1 - 100 were the examine tries to measure your aptitude amongst your peers of people your age to determine how good your root is at absorbing qi. 1 - 25 on the scale is poor, 26 - 50 is considered average 51 - 75 is considered good and above average and 76 - 100 is considered to be a genius and is taken up by sects on the spot. As for specialization it determines what kind of activity your root is best used for, This is also determined by the examine and is the reason why we have to travel so far to get you examined. It is of high importance that the one examining you is a trusted professional, as they will give you the best information they can, and can't falsify things or they risk losing their reputation. sects in general make sure they are of a high quality and can be trusted so they don't waste their time thinking someone is a genius when they might actually not be."

After that conversation the time to get tested can up, now Wu Zhi was excited to see what this world had in store for him.
