Chapter 120 - Chapter 120: Is He Superman?

"Your mission is complete. Leave the rest to me." Vincent Fox's voice was calm, as if he were stating something utterly trivial.

Everyone froze.

"You mean... you're going in there alone to kill those monsters?" Dan Forester looked at him in disbelief. "Dude, are you joking?" The Black woman and the old man were equally stunned, staring at Vincent. "That's your plan? March in there and die?"

The Black woman narrowed her eyes at him, trying to figure out what trick he was playing. "Die?"

Vincent chuckled silently, offering no explanation. "Just stay out here. If any of them escape, take them out."

With that, he turned toward the alien ship.

"Wait! I'm coming with you!" Dan called, following quickly behind.

The Black woman hesitated for a moment, then followed too.

Only the old man remained at his post.

Seeing the two insist on tagging along, Vincent didn't bother stopping them. He'd told them to stay for their own good, to keep them safe.

But if they wanted to risk their lives, that was their choice.

When he saw Dan still lugging the crate of explosives, Vincent kicked it apart.

"You can come, but no explosives."

"Are you insane?" Dan looked at the wreckage, then up at Vincent in disbelief. "Do you even understand how dangerous the White Spikes are? You're going to get everyone killed!"

"Shut it."

With a low grunt, Vincent leaped up and landed cleanly at the entrance of the alien ship.

It was at least three meters off the ground no ordinary human could jump that high.

Dan and the Black woman stared in shock.

"Whoa! This guy... is he Superman?" the old man's voice called out from behind.

Dan and the Black woman exchanged a glance, then silently climbed up after him.

At the entrance, they found a door completely frozen shut.

Dan, panting, said, "Looks like we need a cutting tool. Hold on, I'll go grab one from the truck."

"No need," Vincent replied flatly.

Before Dan could react, Vincent drew his fist back and slammed it into the door.

Boom!

The ice-crusted metal shattered under the blow, revealing a pitch-black passage inside.

Dan and the Black woman looked like they'd seen a ghost.

"Oh my God... how do you have that kind of strength? Are you even human?"

Vincent didn't answer. He just stepped inside.

The others quickly followed.

As soon as the three entered the ship, soft lights flickered to life as if sensing their presence.

"I can't believe it," Dan murmured. "It's been over a thousand years and this ship still has power."

They continued forward.

After walking through a long corridor, they reached a wide chamber filled with grotesque corpses.

Because they'd been frozen so long, the bodies were well-preserved. One look told them these were alien beings.

"Looks like we found the cockpit," the Black woman observed, carefully inspecting the corpses. "These aren't White Spikes."

"They must've been the ship's original owners. They didn't plan to land here. This was a crash," Dan speculated.

Vincent ignored them and kept walking.

He'd seen the movie. He knew exactly where to go. The White Spikes' hibernation chamber was located in the ship's hold.

Soon, they arrived.

The ship's cargo hold resembled a massive prison, divided into countless small rooms.

As they entered the first chamber, they looked up and saw large pod-like sacs hanging from the ceiling. They resembled wombs.

Bathed in red lighting, the shadows inside the sacs were clearly visible.

There was no need to guess each pod held a White Spike.

The creatures were still dormant.

The group could even hear their slow, rhythmic breathing and heartbeats.

There were about twenty White Spikes in this one room.

And in the entire cargo hold, there were at least a hundred similar rooms.

That meant...

This ship carried thousands maybe tens of thousands of White Spike monsters.

"Shouldn't we have come back with the explosives after all?" Dan asked nervously, terrified of waking the monsters.

He glanced at Vincent with some resentment for smashing the crate earlier.

Meanwhile, the Black woman pulled a vial of toxin from a case and loaded it into a syringe.

"As long as we kill them silently, we won't need explosives."

She walked over to one of the pods, carefully inserted the syringe, and injected the poison.

Vincent stood nearby, watching silently.

He already knew from the movie that the toxin worked on White Spikes.

But what they didn't know...

Was that their death screams would wake every single one of them up.

That was exactly what Vincent wanted.

He would block the exit and trap them all inside.

Moments after the poison entered the White Spike's body, it began to spasm violently, then thrash about.

Soon after, its body began to dissolve.

"It's working!" Dan shouted in joy.

But the joy vanished in an instant.

As the dying monster let out a screech, the others inside the pods started to stir.

Claws slashed through the sacs.

Pop. Pop.

One by one, the sacs burst open.

One by one, White Spikes dropped to the floor.

"Damn it!" Dan flicked off his rifle's safety and aimed.

The Black woman's face went pale. Seeing Dan raise his gun, she raised hers too.

Just as they were about to shoot, a hand pressed down on their weapons.

"Don't panic. You two get out of here," Vincent said calmly. "Leave this to me."

Dan opened his mouth, wanting to argue, but the words caught in his throat as he remembered Vincent's earlier display.

"Vincent, are you sure? If these things escape, the end of the world might come early!"

"As long as I'm here, not one of them is getting out," Vincent said confidently.

Just then, one of the stronger White Spikes noticed them.

It opened its bloody maw full of razor-sharp teeth and let out a roar.

Then, without hesitation, it charged straight at the Black woman.

Her pupils shrank in fear and she instinctively pulled the trigger.

Rat-a-tat-tat!

A stream of bullets struck the White Spike, but they had no effect.

Its body was covered in thick armor. The rifle rounds couldn't pierce it.

Ignoring the bullets, it lunged at her.

She was frozen in place, seconds from death.

And then, a fist appeared out of nowhere...
