Chapter 4 - Sp ells ; Ma gic

Ryn carefully flipped to the next page with growing excitement, his tiny hands trembling slightly as he prepared to learn even more about this incredible magical world. The paper made a soft rustling sound as it turned, and he could smell the old ink and leather binding of the ancient book. His eyes were already wide with wonder from everything he had learned so far, but he had a feeling the best parts were still coming. The anticipation was almost too much for his small heart to handle.

"In the world of Magic, there are exactly 3 different types that every spell falls into. These categories are Elemental, Subelemental, and Universal, each with their own unique properties and levels of difficulty.

Elemental magic is by far the most common and widely used magic attribute out of all the different types—it's pretty self-explanatory and straightforward to understand. The four basic elements that make up this category are Wind, Fire, Earth, and Water, which form the foundation of all magical study.

Subelemental magic is a much rarer and more advanced type of magic where two or more of the common Elemental attributes are skillfully combined together to create a completely new element, hence the name Subelemental. The known Subelemental types include Lightning, Light, Magma, Shadow/Dark, and Sound, each requiring mastery of multiple basic elements. But these five aren't all that exist in the world—there are still many more combinations waiting to be named and discovered, some have been lost to ancient times, and others are soon to be discovered in the near future.

Universal Magic is by far the most mysterious, powerful, and rarest type of magic for anyone to obtain or master. There's only one single attribute that is currently known to mankind with this incredibly rare type. That legendary attribute is Time Manipulation, which allows the user to control the flow of time itself."

―Oh damn, this is way more complex than I thought it would be!

Ryn thought to himself, widening his baby eyes in complete shock and amazement at the sheer scope of magical possibilities. He honestly didn't expect there to be this much depth and complexity to the magic system in this world. All he had known about before reading this book were the four basic elemental attributes that everyone talks about—Wind, Earth, Fire, and Water—but now he realized there was an entire universe of magical knowledge waiting to be explored.

He excitedly flipped to the next page, his heart racing with anticipation as he prepared to dive into the practical application of magic. The next section looked like it would finally teach him how to actually cast spells instead of just theory. His tiny hands were practically shaking with excitement as he saw what was written at the top of the page. This was exactly what he had been waiting for since he first opened the book.

"Basic Wind Magic - Your First Spell"

When he saw that exciting subtitle written in bold letters at the very top of the page, he instantly leaned in even closer to the book to focus completely on every single word. His nose was almost touching the paper as he prepared to absorb every detail of this crucial information. The moment he had been dreaming about was finally here—he was about to learn his very first real magic spell. Nothing else in the world mattered except the words written on this page.

―This is definitely the most important part of the entire book!

He exclaimed wildly in his thoughts, his baby brain buzzing with pure excitement and anticipation.

"To cast your first Wind spell, extend either of your hands straight out in front of your body—this is the exact spot where the Eons stored in your abdomen will exit your body and form the magical attack.

Focus at least one-fourth of your total Eon Supply and direct it toward your mouth, then clearly chant the following incantation word for word:

O Goddess of Wind, heed my desire, for thy believer hast requested assistance from thou. Wind Cannon!

If the spell does not activate on your first attempt, gradually add an additional five percent of your Eon Supply to your mouth and try again."

―H-huh... that's really all there is to it? I honestly thought you'd need to use your imagination and visualization skills and stuff like that for the magic to properly activate. But I'm wondering if it will still work even if my way of talking is... complete gibberish and baby nonsense?

Ryn seriously doubted himself and his abilities, since he couldn't bring himself to speak properly yet in this new body. He still didn't know how to talk like a normal person, which was definitely going to be a major problem for casting spells. But despite his concerns and worries, all he could do now was give it his best shot and see what happened.

―Screw it, I'll just try my hardest and see what happens!

He took a deep, steadying breath to calm his nerves, getting mentally ready for his first attempt at real magic. He carefully extended his tiny right arm straight out in front of him, and when he did—he could naturally and weirdly feel the warm Eons flowing around in his core like liquid energy. He didn't waste a single second thinking about that strange sensation, and instead immediately focused less than one-fourth of his Eon Supply toward his mouth area. The energy felt tingly and powerful as it moved through his small body.

"O goeoe f wiii, ee yi er, f yoeoe, beleleoioi, as ououou. Iiii ananaon!!!!"

He waited patiently for something to happen, staring intently at his outstretched hand. He waited for what felt like five long seconds of absolutely nothing happening at all, which made his heart sink with disappointment. Ryn was incredibly disappointed and frustrated—he had wanted to successfully use magic as soon as he possibly could, but there seemed to be no luck at all. Maybe his baby speech really was too garbled for the magic to understand what he was trying to say.

―See, I told myself this wouldn't work because—

Before he could finish that negative thought in his head, a bright green gust of powerful wind suddenly shot forward from his tiny right hand at absolutely insane speeds. The magical attack flew across the small storage room and impacted the wooden wall with tremendous force, completely destroying a large section and revealing the beautiful, grassy yard behind the house. Pieces of wood and debris scattered everywhere as sunlight poured through the massive hole he had accidentally created.

―S-shit... d-did I actually do that incredible thing..? I MADE A FUCKING MESS OF AN ENTIRE WALL!

Ryn immediately panicked, knowing that if everyone in the house sees this destruction, they'll surely get incredibly pissed off at him instantly. He quickly crawled over to the broken fragments and pieces of the wooden wall scattered on the floor, desperately trying to put them back together like a puzzle. Despite knowing deep down that it wouldn't actually work, he had to at least try to fix the damage he had caused with his first magic spell.

"R-Ryn! What happened in here!?"

Ophelia was the very first person to rush into the destroyed storage room, her beautiful face filled with worry and concern as she took in the scene. She hurriedly ran over to where Ryn was sitting among the wooden debris and immediately scooped him up in a tight, protective hug. Her motherly instincts kicked in as she began checking every inch of his tiny body for any possible injuries or cuts. The love and concern in her voice was obvious as she examined him from head to toe.

"Are you okay, my precious baby!? Please tell me you're not hurt!"

She exclaimed frantically, her hands gently but thoroughly checking his arms, legs, and head to make sure he hadn't been injured by the flying debris. Her voice was shaking slightly with worry as she held him close to her chest, feeling relieved that he seemed to be completely unharmed. The maternal love radiating from her was warm and comforting, making Ryn feel safe despite the chaos he had caused.

"What were you doing in here all by yourself, and how did—"

"M-Magic!? You can actually use magic already!? At this incredible quality and power level!?"

"RYN! DARLING! WHAT HAPPENED IN— OH MY GOD!"

As Jan suddenly barged into the room with his usual loud energy, he was completely shocked and amazed to see the incredible destruction his tiny son had somehow managed to cause. He stood there staring at the massive hole in the wall with his mouth hanging open in disbelief, feeling a mixture of worry for his son's safety and overwhelming pride at his magical abilities. His eyes went back and forth between the destroyed wall and his baby son, trying to process what had actually happened.

"H-he's going to become an incredibly powerful mage when he grows up..!"
