Chapter 50 - Sisters

"Don't forget that you are a guest in my house." Ira's words made Veera freeze on her place. She realised that she is in Ira's house.

"And we don't want to welcome any problematic guest in our house. So behave yourself." Warning was clearly heard in Ira's voice. Her eyes glaring at Veera, giving chills down her spine.

Veera gulped. She never expected that Ira will threat her like this. They used to argue when Ira was in Aaro. She used to talk back to her sister and brother whenever they try to humiliate her but the look on Ira's face is giving a different vibes today.

Veera clenched her fist "You....you- doesn't matter if it is your house. It doesn't cover up the fact that you stole my wristlets."

Ira chuckled as if Veera is joking "What? Your wristlets? I think your memory is getting weak day by day, sister. Don't you remember that this wristlet belongs to mother? And she can give it to whoever she want. And she, gave it to me. So now it's mine."

"But I am the eldest daughter of chakravarthy family. I deserve to have this wristlets instead of you." Veera didn't wanted to step back. She want this wristlets at any cost.

"Is everything fine between them?" Emperor asked when he saw the atmosphere between two sisters getting tensed. He can't hear what they are talking about but he can clearly see that there is something off between them. Even though Ira was smiling sweetly at her sister but her sister was looking at her with clear hatred in her eyes and it was seen from the distance.

Dhishva looked at his daughters and understood that they are again arguing. 'This girl! I shouldn't have brought her here! Does she want to ruin our family image?'

He glanced at the emperor and saw him suspecting on Ira and Veera. He have to cover up the matter and make it look normal infront of emperor as emperor thinks that chakravarthy family have a good image in society and all the members love and care for each other. The emperor shouldn't get to know the secret and dispute of chakravarthy family.

'I am sure Veera is fighting with Ira because of those wristlets.' Viraaj thought. He was still sitting on his chair 'I am sorry Ira. You have to bear your sister because of me.'

"Yes your majesty. Everything is fine." Dhishva said. He was trying to make everything look as he want emperor to see. "See! How Ira is smiling at her sister. They are sisters and they love each other very much. Don't worry, everything is fine. Veera must be reminding Ira some manners and how she should behave infront of so many nobels. As you know Ira didn't participated in any royal events before, so may be she is feeling a bit nervous and shy. Veera must be helping her."

Raksheet clenched his fist when he heard Dhishva saying that Veera is reminding Ira some manners. Does he mean Ira don't have any manners? Does he mean she don't know how to behave?

'Shame on you father-in-law! I am so disgusted with you. You don't deserve any respect but I have to give you because you are my wife's father. I wouldn't have let you step in my palace if you weren't my father-in-law. You got such a sweet daughter but you never loved her. Infact, you don't deserve her!'

'Well, you asked for it yourself father-in-law.' Raksheet smirked, he got a plan to leave Dhishva toung twisted.

"By the way father, may I ask why princess Ira didn't attended any royal events?" Raksheet asked.

Hearing Raksheet's questions, Dhishva fell silent. He don't know how to answer.

"Yes, I have the same question as Raksheet. Even I didn't saw her in any of your family functions. I didn't even know that you have one more daughter. I heard about princess Ira last year when I heard that Aaro's younger daughter got a marriage proposal." The emperor asked.

Now it got more difficult for Dhishva to answer. He can't tell the truth. The only answer he can give is by putting all the blame on Ira.

"It's...it's because of Ira. She is so shy and she don't have much confidence. Whenever we used to ask her to go with us to attend any event or family function, she used to refuse and prefer to stay in her chamber. She don't like to meet people."

"Really?" Raksheet asked, raising his one eyebrow doubtfully.

"Yes!" Dhishva replied. When he thought that everyone was satisfied with his answer, at the same time Raksheet spoke

"But, I don't think princess Ira lack confidence. I still remember when we organised a welcome party for her, on the next day after our marriage, she wasn't looking underconfident. Yes! She was a bit nervous. But not because she have to face so many people arround her. But because she never faced them before. She never attended any event before. And when she met them, i observed that she wasn't feeling nervous or shy. She was talking to everyone, she was greeting them."

Raksheet turned towards emperor and said "You know what your majesty, my wife is so brave and confident. She know how to treat people well and how to behave infront of her elders and nobel. She know when to raise her voice against any offence or misdeed."

Embarrassment started to rose in Dhishva's heart. He can't protest Raksheet's statement. Ira have spent a small time in Jwalana, compared to Aaro. But Raksheet know her well than Dhishva. Dhishva don't know anything about her daughter, except for her name that reminds him the awful past that his fate gave him.

He didn't even know Ira's age until she got a marriage proposal from Bayar kingdom. Then he realised that his younger daughter has come to age of marriage. It's because he never paid attention to her and always ignored her.

It looks like Bayar Kingdom know about Ira more than Aaro.

Raksheet turned his gaze towards Dhishva and understood that he is lack of words. How will he answer now? Does he still have the guts to put it on Ira.

"Father, i think you should have persuade her more. May be you saw her nervousness as lack of confidence." Raksheet smiled sweetly and leaned towards Dhishva "Trust me father, your daughter is such a well mannered and sweet princess. She don't need anyone to teach her manners, because i know her grandfather have raised her very well." He then looked at Viraaj "And it's seen in her behaviour."

Viraaj's heart filled with happiness. He smiled brightly and nod in agreement. Finally, there is someone who is protecting Ira and her dignity. Viraaj realised that he didn't failed in choosing the right life partner for Ira. Now he don't have to worry about her happiness and safety much. But he will still think about his granddaughter and love her always.

Dhishva averted his gaze. He don't have more words to reply to Raksheet.

Emperor was looking impressed by Raksheet's explanation. And it's possible now that he would ask more questions regarding Ira. It would be better to change the topic before Dhishva and his family get exposed.

"Ah...yes, you are right." Dhishva said to Raksheet "Well, I think Ira should meet his majesty the emperor and her majesty the empress, right?"

"Yes, we want to meet her as well." Empress said, smiling excitedly to meet Ira, the most beautiful princess she have ever seen.

Seeing his wife's excitement, emperor chuckled and said "Raksheet, please summon your wife here. We would like to meet her, especially my wife."

Raksheet nod and was about to go to bring his wife to meet them but Dhishva stopped him.

"Raksheet, you stay here. I will bring my daughter here. I didn't met her for such a long time, i would like to be with her for sometime."

Raksheet had a hunch that something is going on in Dhishva's mind. But he can't refuse his request infront of emperor. Being Ira's father, he have rights to meet her and talk to her whenever he want.

"Ok, father. As you wish." Raksheet replied.

Dhishva then left from there and went towards his daughters who were having an cold war.

Viraaj was watching his son's drama. He was wondering how his son can pretend to be a good father when he never saw Ira as his daughter. He always pushed her away and now he is acting like he have always loved and cared for her. But Viraaj can't do anything except for watching this quietly as he is not in the condition to scold his son.

Dhishva walked closer to his daughters and spoke in a low voice "What the hell you both are doing?!"

As soon as Ira saw her father, she quickly looked down and joined her hands. "Greetings father. Nice to meet you."

Dhishva ignored her and continued "I asked you something. Can't you both spend a one day without creating a scene? The emperor is still here. He noticed you both arguing. I somehow managed to cover the matter!"

"But father she-" Veera tried to defend herself but her father is not in the mood to listen anyone's explanation.

"No buts! I told you already to behave yourself and don't fight with her." He said to Veera while pointing towards Ira. "You are in her house, so it would be better if you behave yourself. You are a guest here."

Veera hump in annoyance and looked away.

Dhishva then looked at Ira. His eyes narrowed and his gaze sharpened. "And you..."
