Chapter 386 - V

Ultraxion was unwilling to fail just like that. It flapped its wings, propelling its massive body in an attempt to turn over. Everyone knew that a dragon's belly was one of the most vulnerable parts of its body. Although the Chromatic Dragon had strong defenses, its chest now had a large gash from the Dragon King's Blade, and the others wouldn't pass up this opportunity to expand their gains.

It had to fight back!

But achieving that wish wouldn't be so simple—

People had finally seen the light of victory, so how could they possibly hand back the advantage that Karsus had sacrificed himself to obtain? To buy Aiden more time, everyone charged forward desperately. The four Dragon Aspects used every means to tear at Ultraxion, and even Thrall, who was in command, jumped onto the dragon's body, summoned elemental spirits, and personally wielded the Doomhammer, smashing it fiercely against Ultraxion's body.

Their actions were just a microcosm. In almost just a few breaths, Ultraxion was completely submerged by countless people and dragons.

Although the attacks of most of them couldn't truly threaten Ultraxion, not even enough to tickle it. Just like their previous actions to prevent Ultraxion from flying into the sky, it was effective, but not obvious—but for Aiden, that was enough.

He only needed the time to cut the Chromatic Dragon's heart in half, and a dozen seconds was more than enough.

When the Dragon King's Blade cleaved open Ultraxion's heart, the giant dragon's whole body convulsed violently. It struggled madly, throwing everyone on its body, including Aiden, flying off.

This time, no one stopped it from rolling over. It writhed on the ground in pain, frantically tearing at everything around it. All six heads spewed dragon breath desperately, turning the ancient beach into a sea of fire.

But this couldn't stop the blood gushing out of its heart. In fact, because of its struggles, the rate of blood loss became faster and faster.

It let out a frantic roar, and the huge gash on its chest spewed out flames of hatred, as if the blood had been ignited.

Aiden managed to regain his footing. He watched the dying Chromatic Dragon from afar and saw the Dragon King's Blade disintegrate in the black-purple flames, with pieces of varying sizes spurting out along with the blood.

But it had already fulfilled its mission. The remaining energy of the Dragon King's Blade made it almost impossible for Ultraxion's chest wound to heal. It would eventually die from heart damage and excessive blood loss.

This battle seemed to have ended just like that—they had paid a heavy price, not only Karsus's sacrifice, but also the deaths and injuries of many dragons and other heroes in the battle, especially during the final moments.

Ultraxion's angry and desperate roar came from his ear. This dragon had finally reached its end. Aiden should have been excited about it, but he still had a faint sense of unease in his heart—and this unease quickly turned into a real threat.

Ultraxion suddenly flew up. Its twelve eyes all bloomed with the deepest hatred, especially those staring at Aiden, which revealed a frightening madness.

"You think you've won? You think you've defeated me?"

The Chromatic Dragon's six heads swept across the mortal heroes and dragons on the ground and in the air who were desperately dodging its attacks. "No, you cannot defeat me, because you cannot defeat inevitable fate!"

Red Dragon Queen Alexstrasza suddenly changed color. She exclaimed, "It's not good, this dragon's body structure is becoming very unstable!"

"The energy in its body is chaotic—it's going to explode!" Ysera also noticed this terrifying change.

The Dragon Aspect sisters could feel the energy changes in the body of this crazy Chromatic Dragon, and it soon wouldn't be their patent—because this change spread outside of Ultraxion's body as they spoke to remind them.

Its whole body began to spew dark purple flames, which also flickered with strange twilight energy arcs. The power belonging to the Chromatic Dragon and the power belonging to the Twilight Dragon were affecting each other. The two forces, which were originally balanced by the perfect Dragon Soul, were now fighting against each other!

And this confrontation would inevitably lead to a very serious disaster—that is, a terrifying explosion beyond description!

Everyone's expression changed drastically because of this change—they remembered the unsuccessful Twilight Judgment in Dragonblight last time, and it was conceivable that the explosion that was about to happen would be many times more serious than that one.

Everyone knew what kind of consequences that meant—the entire Azeroth could not withstand such an explosion, and this world might be destroyed in the opponent's self-destruction!

You must know that this dangerous and crazy Chromatic Dragon originally stored enough energy in its body to destroy Azeroth several times. After absorbing the Titan Energy Orb, this number was doubled.

But whether it was ten or eight times, or a dozen or twenty times, it didn't really matter. Because even if there was only enough energy to destroy Azeroth once, it meant that this planet, which carried the fate and hope of countless people, would be doomed.

Ultraxion saw the panic and unease of these people in his eyes. The enemy's panic made it feel that its failure had become valuable. It let out a burst of laughter:

"The meaning of my existence is for this moment: the Twilight Judgment is about to come, and I will be the Chromatic Dragon that will kick off the prelude—Ultraxion!"

"The light is about to disappear, and darkness will eventually come. All that is left for you pitiful mortals and dragons is death and despair!"

Aiden knew very well what this explosion meant. No matter what, for himself, for the friends around him and the warriors under his command, for the people under his rule, or more vaguely for the survival of all living beings in Azeroth—he had to stop this explosion!

Apart from him, no one else present could do the same thing.

The guardians of Ulduar could not, the mortal heroes could not, the Naaru could not exhaust the power of the Holy Light, and even the Dragon Aspects could not sacrifice themselves!

Only he still had a glimmer of hope!

"Withdraw from here, everyone!" he whispered.

"Commander!"

"Your Excellency Aiden!"

The people around him immediately shouted.

"Leave this to me." Aiden only stared at the Chromatic Dragon in the sky, its deformed body was becoming more and more unstable.

Sargeras's Scepter and Gem appeared in his hand. At the moment, only these two things could help him achieve his goal!

Kayle conveyed his order to the heroes of Valoran. They silently took their wounded comrades and left in an orderly manner through the temporary teleportation portals created by the mages. Everyone saluted him as they passed by Aiden.

The heroes of Azeroth did the same. They knew that they couldn't help much in such a catastrophe.

The safety of the entire world had been entrusted to the leader of Valoran.

If he failed, they would go back and wait for death; if he succeeded, it would not have much to do with them. Staying here would only make the other party afraid.

Alexstrasza flew here and looked down at Aiden, saying with unusual seriousness and determination: "Aiden, we can't leave!"

"This is the duty of the Dragon Aspects, and you shouldn't have to bear it." Nozdormu also came here and stood shoulder to shoulder with Alexstrasza. Then Ysera and Malygos also came here.

The latter said to Thrall: "You should leave too, Shaman. It is our honor to fight side by side with you."

Thrall bowed to them: "It is even more my honor." During this period of time, he was spiritually connected with the four Dragon Aspects, and he could feel the courage of these Dragon Aspects to dedicate themselves and the great feelings of protecting this world.

In the past, people had many misunderstandings about the Dragon Aspects, and even Thrall was one of them. But now there was only the highest respect in his heart. For these Dragon Aspects who had guarded the world for tens of thousands of years, and also for Aiden—this human hero who had come to this world for only a few years, but had saved Azeroth from the brink of destruction several times.

They truly deserved the title of "hero"!

Ultraxion didn't care about the escape of these humans. When the nest is overturned, no egg remains unbroken? The power of its explosion could completely destroy this world, unless they could escape this world, otherwise it would be the same no matter whether these people were here, in the center of the explosion, or at the ends of the earth.

It saw the person it hated the most—the person who forced it to end in self-destruction—Aiden, who was still staying here, as if he was still trying to struggle. Its heart was suddenly filled with the joy of revenge, and there was also a kind of anger of being despised—shouldn't this person be scared out of his wits and running away in embarrassment? The result in front of him made it even more furious, and even more raging flames spewed out from its body:

"My hatred burns in darkness and pain!"

"I am about to die, but you will be buried with me! Guardian Dragons, the strongest heroes of the mortal world, and you, Aiden—" Its purple head stared at Aiden, while the other heads stared at the Guardian Dragons, Naaru, and the only remaining two heroes—Kayle and Khadgar, as well as the Red Dragon Queen's consort Krasus, also known as Korialstrasz. "This is your destiny—I will drag you into the flames and darkness together! Welcome the coming of the Twilight Judgment!"

Kayle was unwilling to leave, and Aiden didn't want to question. The angel's answer was: "If you fail, our existence will be meaningless, and I can protect myself."

Aiden had no choice but to let the other party stay.

He looked at Khadgar again and asked with his eyes. The old but not old mage shrugged: "I'm staying to verify a result."

Twenty years ago, Khadgar had seen his future death in Karazhan. During the most dangerous times before—such as the Battle for Outland and the Nexus War—he had used this death prophecy to comfort himself when people were most desperate, and he had succeeded every time.

This at least proves that the prophecy is still accurate so far.

So he showed all the smiles he cared about and said: "According to that prophecy, this is not where I die, so I want to see how you save this world."
