Chapter 29 - Singed

Barthilas swung his warhammer with all his might, completely smashing the head of the disgusting ghoul in front of him, not sparing his physical strength at all. He spat at the headless corpse at his feet and said contemptuously, "That's all there is to it!"

The Paladins who were acting with him deliberately kept a distance from him. Everyone knew that he was venting his anger by wantonly killing zombies.

A while ago, he had become famous for accusing Lord Tirion Fordring and became the acting lord of Hearthglen. But then he was deceived by the false order of Prince Arthas, who was the incarnation of a demon, and led people to slaughter a secret magic camp, indirectly leading to the failure of the encirclement and suppression of the Cult of the Damned. Afterwards, when held accountable, this acting lord, who had not even inspected his own territory, was dismissed and completely returned to his original position. Now he was following a group of Paladin brothers to clear out ghouls in the stinky sewers and capture members of the Cult of the Damned who were secretly causing trouble.

It can only be said that the ups and downs of life are really too fast and exciting.

After killing the last ghoul in his field of vision, Barthilas looked at the complex fork in front of him and instructed the other Paladins: "Let's search separately. Each person only goes forward a hundred yards and then stops. If you find anything, call for help from the others. If you don't find anything, return here to gather."

"Yes!"

The Paladins took their orders.

Barthilas lit up his weapon with holy light to illuminate the way, walked forward for a while, estimated that it was almost a hundred yards, and was about to return when a voice suddenly came from the dark front. He looked up and saw two points of dark red light flashing by. The battle experience of the past few days told him that this was a ghoul!

"Come here quickly! There's an enemy!" He loudly summoned the other Paladins in the team, and then rushed to the place where the figure disappeared.

The figure, suspected to be a ghoul, did not rush over mindlessly like other ghouls when they saw a living person, and Barthilas seemed to see some light from there: ghouls can see in the dark and do not need lighting, only humans need it.

He sensitively realized that he might have encountered a member of the Cult of the Damned.

"A big fish!"

There was no doubt that catching a member of the Cult of the Damned in the Knights would add a thick stroke to his merit book. After being an acting lord for a few days, how could he still be satisfied with the ordinary position of a squad leader?

After chasing for a while, Barthilas heard shouts of killing in front of him, which meant that brother knights were fighting over there. Surrounding them would leave these evil cultists with nowhere to escape!

Excited, Barthilas rushed forward, and the light was getting closer and closer to him. He could clearly distinguish that it was indeed a healthy human figure wearing a long cloak!

However, as soon as he rushed around a corner, he bumped into something hard and metallic. With a bang, the dizzy Barthilas fell to the ground. The familiar feeling, it seemed like he had bumped into armor…

"Quick, protect His Highness the Prince!" Before getting up, he heard such a voice.

"Lady Kayle, it seems that before deciphering the plague formula, our idea of simply using holy power to dispel the plague cannot be realized." Angel Ophiel killed the mutated infected person in front of her.

"Yes, we are doing useless work." Kayle nodded. "Then let's do something meaningful!"

"What do you mean?" Angel Pamyel asked.

"Prepare a blessing ceremony so that the remaining survivors will no longer be threatened by the plague!" After Kayle finished speaking, she went straight to Uther, the current person in charge, to tell her her thoughts.

After hearing this, Uther of course expressed his approval with both hands, but at the same time he also worriedly asked: "Will such a large-scale ceremony consume your power?"

"It will consume it, but not lose. I will recover after a period of rest." Kayle replied.

"Then, thank you angels for your help, we will remember it in our hearts!" Uther solemnly promised, "You will be our eternal friends!"

Kayle corrected: "If you want to thank, thank Valoran and our summoner!"

Uther asked curiously: "Excuse me for asking a question that is off topic. In my opinion, your summoner does not seem to be very powerful. Do you follow him because of his noble birth? Just like our Prince Arthas of Lordaeron."

"No, his background is very ordinary, but he himself is not ordinary. He is also the only one we are worthy of following and serving." Kayle's words made Uther a little unable to understand, but this Light Envoy did not know that even if these words were spoken to the person they were discussing, Aiden would not understand.

At this time, Aiden had no idea what special qualities he had that were worthy of the Valoran heroes' following, even including the angels from another dimension. What he was worried about now was how to change history as quickly as possible and summon the people of Valoran before the Time Guardian Kirin could resist the torrent of time.

Although this old man was not that lovable, Aiden could not accept his own incompetence and laziness leading to the annihilation of the other party and countless living beings.

Adhering to this principle, Aiden felt that he had to work hard to preserve the vitality of Azeroth, and eliminate the Scourge before it could cause large-scale destruction, completely reversing the history of Azeroth, so that he could obtain a huge amount of energy points.

Thinking of this, he felt that he had not been serious enough before, and even had the idea of giving up Lordaeron when he was rejected by Terenas in the previous throne hall meeting.

"Now I want to wholeheartedly save Lordaeron, so the question is - where do I start?" Aiden looked around, it seemed that everyone had their own responsibilities, and he seemed to be doing nothing.

"This won't do, I have to find something practical to do!" The most important thing at the moment is to decipher the Scourge's plague, and Aiden's greatest reliance is the Valoran Heart. Thinking of this, he immediately had a plan, and then ran to find Uther.

"Lord Lightbringer, I have something to discuss with you." Aiden found Uther, "We in Valoran have a very powerful alchemist, especially good at poisons, chemical agents, and plagues. I think summoning this hero may have a certain benefit to deciphering the plague formula. But…"

Uther saw his embarrassed look and asked, "Is there a problem? Lord Aiden."

Aiden nodded and said: "Yes, no matter in which world, people who study these things are not good people. This alchemist has also been spurned by many righteous people, and his chemical agents have indeed brought disaster to many innocent people. To be honest, although he is loyal to me, he is not an upright person. If we want to use his abilities, we must accept such a person who bears a lot of sins."

Uther almost refused the help of such a person immediately, but when he thought of the harm caused by the plague, he could not refuse immediately. He could only be in a dilemma and could not make a decision.

"This… let me think about it carefully." Uther did not expect that Aiden, who was followed by the bright and holy angels, actually had such evil heroes around him. This was really beyond his imagination.

"How about…" Uther hesitated, "I will ask my teacher for his wisdom, he will definitely be able to distinguish the pros and cons!"

When Uther took Aiden to find Archbishop Fao, he was blessing a dead infected person, with a solemn and holy expression.

After Faol listened to Uther's narration, he did not hesitate at all: "Then summon him!"

Uther was stunned, completely unexpected that his teacher would be so decisive.

"We are carrying out a righteous and great cause. In the face of the common disaster of mankind, everything can be compromised. Besides, he has not committed crimes against the people of Azeroth." Alonso Faol looked at Aiden, "Aiden, my child, I think you can guarantee that he will not make such mistakes again after coming to this world, right?"

"Yes, I guarantee you!" Aiden was convinced. As expected, he was a highly respected archbishop, and his way of looking at problems was much better than Uther's - it turned out that the problem ultimately came back to Aiden.

"I will summon him now. Uh, I must kindly remind you that his image may not be so good…"

"It doesn't matter, even if he is a ghoul, as long as it helps our research, I won't mind." Faol smiled slyly.

Aiden held the Valoran Heart and imagined the name of the alchemist Singed. The summoning circle was activated, and then a man with bandages wrapped around most of his body, almost no hair on his exposed head, and some scars from healed sores on his face appeared in front of Aiden. He was also carrying a large shield in his hand and a signature large bottle filled with chemical agents on his back.

"Ah ha, I didn't expect that I could come out so early. It feels so good to be able to breathe fresh air! Summoner, what kind of troubles do you have? Oh, I smell a special smell, what is that?" The alchemist Singed blurted out a long string of words as soon as he came out, as if he hadn't spoken for a long time. In fact, this was indeed the case. He looked at the infected people lying on the hospital beds in the nearby laboratory, fixed with belts, "I smell the plague!"

"Alright, Alright, stop talking, Singed, it's time to use your expertise." Aiden said goodbye to Uther and Lord Faol, and took Singed to Faraniell's alchemy laboratory, explaining to him the problems he was facing on the way.

A kind of fanaticism and excitement appeared in Singed's eyes: "Ah ha, that's great! Since joining the League of Legends, I haven't been able to touch my favorite chemical field for a long time. It seems that my strongest skill has come in handy again. Let the people of this world witness what a real chemical expert is!"

Looking at Singed, who was so happy and a little crazy, Aiden felt that he should re-evaluate whether this dangerous hero would be so obedient and only do the things within the scope he had set for him.
