"The power of the God was even more terrifying than expected," Manigoldo only felt his own Cosmo melting like early spring snow when confronting him, "and that torrential God's Destruction poured down on him without reservation.
To outsiders, that unrestrained Cancer Gold Saint had no power to resist against Thanatos, the God of Death. After a single blow, he was sent flying backward at an extreme speed, too fast for the naked eye to perceive!
He shattered the towering mountain behind him, plowing a deep trench in the earth, his body tumbling and bouncing under the immense kinetic energy, finally, like a meteorite smashed into the earth, he heavily crashed onto the edge of an abyss seventy kilometers away. His imposing aura, which moments ago was sharp as a blade, was now as faint as a flickering candle in the wind.
"That was quite a hit, wasn't it, Thanatos, the God of Death!" Manigoldo coughed up a mouthful of bloody foam, violently propped himself up with his left hand, struggling to stand.
He endured the intense pain, as if all his bones were fractured, and his Cosmo sensing instinctively expanded once more, intending to lock onto the God of Death's whereabouts—however, that bone-chilling aura of death was already hovering directly above him!
Without any hesitation at all, relying entirely on his bodily instincts to roll and evade the stomping attack.
"Oh?" Toward the Saint he had failed to crush with a single stomp, Thanatos, the God of Death, showed a slight expression of surprise, but that was all.
Thanatos, the God of Death, gazed down at the struggling Saint, "As a human, daring to challenge a God, I don't know if you're blinded by rage, or if you're unclear about your place. Perhaps ordinarily you would have the right to be toyed with, but now, just die quickly."
He raised a finger. This was no mere gesture of contempt; a purple light sphere formed at his fingertip and rapidly expanded, at an almost infinite expansion rate, turning this entire layer of Hell into his battlefield.
Not far away, in the Great Forest of Death, seventy kilometers away, Alone, his long hair swaying, watched his dear friend, who was clashing fists with him, with a faint smile that wasn't quite a smile.
"It seems you don't care at all about your comrade's safety." Alone, pointedly, looked towards the similarly expanding purple light, "He only appeared to block Thanatos to save you. Is this what you Saints always proclaim as friendship and bonds?"
Alone said this to distract Seiya. Because after his mind, dominated by his expanding power, quieted down, he also realized that even if the power of Hades within him further awakened, he couldn't defeat his dear friend before him in a short time. For Alone, and even for many Gods of Death, this was utterly unreasonable.
Judging purely from the level of Cosmo, his Cosmo, though not weak, was only average among the Gold Saints.
But if you add his endless and highly targeted combat techniques, he could instantly reach the level of an outstanding individual.
But if you further add his Cloth and physical constitution, whose strength far exceeds normal standards, he can reach a point where even Gods are somewhat tricky to handle. But the exact reason for this will soon be revealed.
At this moment, he circled Seiya, probing and testing, his gaze sharp, like a lion preparing to hunt its prey.
Of course, the lion had no Lu Mingfei in his eyes.
"Not speaking? Then let's taste your power first!" Alone smiled and his twin fists suddenly struck out fiercely.
Countless phantom fists, imbued with a dense aura of death, tore through the air. It was none other than the Pegasus Meteor Fist!
The combat technique belonging to Pegasus was now being demonstrated by Alone.
Upon entering the third phase of awakening, Alone truly began to grasp some of Hades' core abilities, from exhibiting constellations to resurrecting the dead, from bestowing death upon all things to understanding the realm of all things.
But those meteors approaching Seiya only splashed off as light spots, as if an infinite barrier surrounded him. Then, the true Pegasus Meteor Fist covered his vision.
Thanatos, the God of Death's technique had already expanded to this area. As the purple light completely covered the real world, the Great Forest of Death, originally dominated by Seiya, had already become a dark starry sky dominated by the God.
No up, no down, no front, no back. For those without qualifications, in this world, there was only one path to take—Death.
"This space is the Passage of the Gods. However, if an ordinary human takes a single step, they will be pulverized." Alone's gentle voice echoed in Seiya's ear. He stared intently at the state of the Saint before him in this space, then he revealed a smile of profound realization.
"As expected! You can indeed survive in this Passage of the Gods. You, like me and Sasha, are not ordinary humans!"
At this moment, the pressure Seiya endured was even heavier than that on Manigoldo of Cancer, seventy kilometers away. Whether it was Alone and Pandora, or the suddenly appearing Thanatos, the God of Death, the arrogance of Gods prevented them from taking any other Saints seriously.
Only Seiya—more precisely, the God-hunting Pegasus who wounded Hades' true body in the previous Holy War—was qualified to be treated as a serious opponent by the Gods!
"Do you know, Alone?" Seiya spoke.
He paid no attention to Manigoldo of Cancer, who was barely standing in the Passage of the Gods, nor to Pandora, who was poised to attack, nor to the whispers related to himself, hidden in the void. Only Alone's figure was in his eyes.
"Arrogance is the first cardinal sin. This is the fundamental reason Gods are pulled from their pedestals, and that includes you now, too."
With a crisp sound, as if glass shattered and cracked above them.
This was not Manigoldo of Cancer, who was swaying precariously, nor was it Seiya's combat technique, but a white figure tearing through space.
It was the leader of all Saints, the representative of the Saints, the successor to the Lord of all disciples, the High Priest, Pope Sage of Sanctuary.
He, with the talisman containing Athena's power in his hand, tore open the Passage of the Gods, and at the same time destroyed the battlefield that was originally disadvantageous to the Saints.
"What?!" Alone's pupils suddenly contracted. The sudden appearance of the Pope of Sanctuary completely exceeded his expectations. This moment of shock, on a battlefield where life and death were at stake, was a fatal flaw!
Just as Sage tore open the Passage of the Gods, golden light dispelled the purple glow, and in a flash, as the battlefield's dynamic dramatically shifted, Seiya moved! He moved as if he had anticipated this moment. The accumulated power suddenly burst forth, his figure transformed into a platinum-gold meteor tearing through space, instantly lunging towards Alone!
"What kind of technique is this?" As Alone was still pondering, the Saint before him had already crashed into his embrace.
As his throat was seized, Alone suddenly realized this was no combat technique at all, but the most primitive close combat! He had intended to make Seiya make a mistake, but ultimately, it was he who was distracted!
