Chapter 46 - Chapter 46

"System 92, can you translate the herbs from Earth into herbs with similar effects in this world?"

"Yes, Master."

With that confirmation, Elara looked up at Oswyn.

Oswyn didn't really understand why she suddenly asked that, but he still answered.

"Yes."

Elara waved her finger to signal him to come closer.

Oswyn froze a bit when he saw her gesture, but since he had just agreed to help, he forced himself to take two steps toward her.

Elara saw his stiff movements and didn't tease him. She leaned closer and spoke softly.

"I used to read some simple prescriptions and herbs when I had nothing to do. Each recipe had only a few herbs, and they mostly helped with colds and infectious diseases. Do you want to hear them?"

Oswyn thought she just suddenly felt like showing off in front of people. He didn't expect her to start talking about medicine.

He didn't really believe the usually idle princess knew anything about prescriptions. But he was curious enough to nod and listen casually.

Elara began to recite the useful prescriptions and herbs she remembered from her past life. System 92 translated them for her one by one into the world's language, and she whispered them in Oswyn's ear.

After she recited about a third of the list, she noticed Oswyn's face had turned serious. He raised his hand to stop her and told the confused medicine boy beside them to bring a brush and bamboo slips.

He wrote down everything Elara said without missing a word. Then he looked at her seriously and asked her to continue.

Elara held back a smirk and kept reading with the help of System 92. Oswyn wrote everything down carefully and neatly.

When Elara finished, and Oswyn also stopped writing, he stared at the unfamiliar herbs listed on the bamboo slip. He read them several times before looking up at Elara.

"Your Highness, how do you know the properties of these herbs and the recipes?"

At first, he didn't believe her. But as he listened, Oswyn, who had studied medicine since childhood, realized that if the effects of the herbs she mentioned were real, then these recipes would be extremely effective and practical.

Not only could they save a lot of materials, but they could also reduce the time needed to prepare the medicine and improve the efficiency of treatments.

But all of this depended on whether the herb properties she mentioned were true.

Elara replied simply, "I told you I came across them by chance. If you don't believe me, just try boiling a few bowls and see for yourself."

Oswyn stared at Elara, trying to read her expression. But unfortunately for him, Elara's nerves, or rather her calm mindset, were far stronger than his.

Even with his eyes locked on her, she stayed completely calm. In fact, she stared right back at him, making him uncomfortable.

He couldn't read anything from her face and ended up shifting his gaze first.

"Ahem, then I… I'll go try it."

Oswyn turned his head away and quickly walked back into the house with the new herbs and recipes in hand.

He still had doubts and didn't quite understand, but what if the things written on the bamboo slips were true? Then medicine would take a huge step forward, and people suffering from diseases could finally get better treatment.

With this thought, Oswyn walked faster, and an old sense of excitement bubbled up inside him.

The last time he felt this way was years ago when he first discovered the root cause of a rare illness and created his first original prescription.

This time, he hoped she wasn't lying to him.

After Oswyn's figure completely disappeared into the main hall, Elara stopped smiling. She looked around the area and brought the two silent people behind her toward the back residence of the estate.

System 92 took the chance to speak. [Master, just now you talked about kicking those people out of the Princess Manor... do you really plan to drive them out?]

[Of course.]

System 92's voice instantly sounded uneasy. [But even if they're not sick, they might catch the illness again outside, or... just starve to death.]

After all, they are already displaced refugees. If they're kicked out from here, where else could they survive?

Elara smiled lightly at System 92's words. [I just want them to leave this estate. It's not like I want them to die. And honestly, I won't raise people who do nothing.]

Hearing this, System 92 brightened up again. [So, Master, you mean... you still have other plans for them?]

Elara gave a soft "hmm" in her mind. [Even if I drive them out of this place, do you think this is the only estate I have?]

System 92 became more excited. Its voice even carried a bit of anticipation. [So Master, you mean...]

Elara didn't answer again because they had already reached the main residence.

Elara brought Damon and Mathias into the main bedroom of the residence. She waved away all the waiting servants and personally went to the back quarters to fetch three sets of male servant clothing. Two of them she tossed to Damon and Mathias.

Then, while both of them looked at her, Elara took the last set of clothes and walked toward the side room. Her voice floated out calmly.

"Hurry up and change. Later I'll take you to another place."

A few minutes later, Elara came out dressed in rough men's clothes, holding her own dress and palace robe in her hand.

Damon and Mathias had already changed and were standing outside waiting.

Elara glanced at them both and told them to tie up their hair. She only nodded after their backs looked completely different from before. Then she looked up and called to the ceiling.

"Dos, Tres, and the eighth, come out."

The top ten guards of the Wei group were always close to her.

As soon as Elara finished speaking, three tall and lean figures appeared in front of her.

Mathias didn't react at all, clearly used to it.

Damon, however, looked surprised at the skilled guards. He hadn't noticed anyone around at all just now.

Elara looked at Dos and the eighth. She thought their builds were similar enough to Mathias and Damon. So she spoke to the two men standing there with different expressions.

"Give them your coats."

Mathias silently handed over his coat without saying anything.

Damon came back to his senses, glanced at the eighth, and also gave up his outer garment.

Dos and the eighth put on the coats. Elara walked around them and made sure that, unless someone looked closely, they couldn't tell the difference from behind. Then she handed her own clothes to Tres, who had played her role once before.

"Just like last time. Before we return, the three of you stay in this room in our place. No need to open the door for anyone."

The opposing forces in the capital were too many and too strong. Just people like Lord Gregory and his group were enough to keep eyes on her.

So before heading to her new territory, Elara needed to distract those people's attention and change her identity.

This was her main reason for opening this estate today. There were many refugees here, with all kinds of people, making it easy for her to confuse others and slip away.

"Yes, Princess."

After giving all the instructions, Elara led Damon and Mathias toward a small gate at the far end of the back residence.

Uno, who was also in disguise, was already waiting there. As soon as they arrived, he led them through a hidden path.

At the end of the path was a plain and unremarkable carriage parked beside a remote mountain road.

Elara, Damon, and Mathias got into the carriage. Uno then started driving it away slowly.
