Authors note 1 - Talent and Morality

Read if you want to but this is more for myself to remember the general direction I want my story and characters to follow and sort towards.

Read what is stated below if you want but I can not stress enough that it is nor needed to understand the story and that you can just skip over it completely.

And if you do want to read it then please just copy and paste the text into Chat gpt or any other ai tool and ask for it to be abbreviated.

When existing in a Fictional Universe it is often stated that the one who transmigrated has exceptional talent and whilst this is partially true they do not actually explain why they are talented, in my opinion there are three main reasons for why the transmigrator is talented and these factors are the existence level/ talent quality of the character, the universal and Fictional understanding of the character and finally the differentiation between different identity qualities and what they actually mean for both the original character for the story and the characters that were already pre-written into the original story.

Just as a quick disclaimer this does not apply to stories where the mc gets wishes that either amplify or change their talent in anyway shape or form, as that is completely different, this merely applies to stories like Cn Translations where the mc somehow has an instinctual combat ability when they have never been given a power related to combat experience and have never done any combat sports, martial arts or Been in a real fight where they could die (or at least it never states that they have participated in a fight of any form). This does not apply to any stories where the mc gets wishes that enhance talents and other aspects as when being enhanced or given a power in any form usually the power will change the person either subtle or majorly and this change can be both good and bad as Sebastion Shaw and Peter Parker both exist and when given a power that exists outside of a humans predetermined understand of humanity that person becomes a superhuman, no matter how significant or miniscule an enhancement is, if the inherent nature of the Ability exists beyond human understand or limits it will change someone and push them beyond what they could have been, the reason this is important is because even in human societies where someone who is Suicidal (and wants to die or at least sees no point in living anymore) attacks someone it would be much harder to restrain or deal with than someone who is of a more normal social and mental state as they would care for ether life and would at least subconsciously try to avoid harm of any kind and so a power of superhuman perception could drastically change a person's outlook on life causing them to see others as nothing more than tools or statistics, it had been shown numerous times that when someone becomes confident they tend to show show a sense of fear and nervousness towards situations that they would normally feel fear and uncomfortable in, to put this into perspective there was a show during the early 2010 (I don't remember the show or when it happened or even if it was a show, you will have to look it up) where two young female adults were asked to run around and pour different liquids on people like water, soda and other safe for work liquids and they did this to like 5 people and then they moved onto another person, anyway as they were doing this the organizers of the prank noticed a certain person was in the vicinity of where the prank was being hosted and so they told these 2 young ladies to pour a liquid over the guys head, what they failed to mention was that this guy was Kim Jong Un brother and that the liquid was acid of some kind and because of the producers and the young women Kim Jong Un's brother died, anyway moral of the story is that confidence and ignorance can cause someone to lose themself to sin and so it can be understood why the Protagonist in so many transmigration stories end up undergoing such drastic personality, moral and ethical changes and generally show a distaste and almost hatred for life, this is not applied to characters like Fang Yuan, even he knows that he is an evil basterd and so applies only to characters that seem normal and drastically change from seemingly our of nowhere, last point I am going to make is that power does not corrupt, omni man said it best power enables someone to do what they want to do, it does not corrupt as corruption implies that you had no thought of doing said thing, power enables (at least in most cases, we will ignore the dark hold and other such objects and powers of similar origin for just this example) anyway that is my thoughts on the whole Talent and personality traits of webnovel mcs if fanfics and novels.

Existence level/ talent quality refers to the idea that all levels of existence have a level of quality that defines the potential that an individual can reach as someone with a higher talent might reach their pinnacle faster than someone with lower talent, they might have a lower existence quality meaning that their overall pinnacle could be lower than their opponent, take the fight between Garou and Saitama as an example Garou had much higher talent than Saitama which allowed Garou to reach the Limiter much quicker than Saitama, but he could only reach it and then partially break through the Limiter thanks to God's help, whereas Saitama had a lower talent level than Garou, but he still beat him as Saitamas potential was much higher than Garous, to put it simply the higher talent you have the faster you will reach your peak and the higher potential/ the higher your existence level is the higher you limit for growth is.

Universal and Fictional understanding, unlike Fictional character we as the viewer can see through the timeline and observe what a character can reach to at the very peak of their story (in terms of power) and we can also observe other characters in the Fictional verse and characters outside of the verse that exist on higher levels and this will allow for the transmigrator to understand what they should be pushing their power towards and what level of strength that they can reach next, and this is not true for most Fictional characters as someone like goku is always training to fight the next opponent even if he does not know who they are and so when a Strong opponent shows up most of the time goku is not ready for this jump in power and gets overwhelmed and only throughout the Arc does he manage to go toe to toe with the character who destroyed him at the Start of the Arc in order to beat him, this is best observed in the tournament of power in Dragon Ball Super as goku had no knowledge of the amount of power Jiren had and got absolutely destroyed In a single attack by Jiren in their first encounter but as the tournament progressed goku massively shot up in power to the point where at the Start of the tournament he was getting one shot in Super saiyan blue and by the end he could fight on par with Jiren in base form, this shows that it is not actually that the transmigrator is more talented but rather they know about the true limits of existence and the true limits of power so they can strive to reach much higher than a normal character from a work from fiction.

Lastly we will talk about Identity quality and what Identity quality actually means in terms of fiction, usually in a Fictional work of any kind there is usually something like Fate and plot that forces or pushes the story in a certain way this can be seen in stuff like DC as Batman Batman Superman are mostly always heroes except from the dark multiverse, injustice and owlman and so from this we can understand that to some extent Characters are pushed in certain directions because of the plot or narrative of the story, and this is important because you as a transmigrator are an unstable factor and usually would just appear out of left field if The story has the transmigrator take over a body instead of being born in the world through Reincarnation as you are essentially taking an already written book and then just implanting 100 extra pages in the middle of the story and then saying yeah this will be fine and will work out perfectly, when in fact it will not and so essentially when a transmigrator appears In a Fictional work of any kind they are basically just uncomprehendible by fate and reality and can effectively do whatever they want as long as they do not affect anything on a existent level which calls for an omni being like the presence, lucifer Morningstar, the one above all, Takatou Yogiri, Akuto Sai, Featherine, Hajun and any other omni being of similar power who can affect the narrative itself.

So these are the main traits that explain why a character seems more talented than maybe they actually are and could be one of the key defining factors on why an mc can do things that seem impossible for another character to narratively do or replicate. Anyway that's my thoughts on Talents for webnovel mcs and stuff.
