At least he should be relieved, right? He had finally saved everyone from Kyle. He had stopped him from causing any harm forever. He should be happy, at least.
But his heart was aching so badly at that moment. It felt like he had lost something extremely important to him. He felt like he had lost someone important again for the second time.
And his heart ached in the pain of the loss as tears ran free. He didn't understand it, and he didn't know if he ever would.
While he knelt there, Lenny rushed to his side. He took a quick glance at his body and then felt his hand. Lenny was surprised.
