Eden stared at her. A smile slowly curled up his lips as he nodded.
Elvis was confused. He stared at Eden and then at his mother. "What's happening?" Elvis asked, looking at Eden.
But Eden said nothing.
The soldiers had begun gathering around Eden and Elvis again. They were about to end them as the King would instruct.
But before they could attack, Eden used his last strength and waved his hands around them. A purple wave brushed them off. And then he muttered.
"Lenny, now."
Light filled the scene as a huge purple bird appeared. Everyone began pulling backward as the great beast flapped its enormous wings.
A purple wind filled the air, pushing people back. Some stood their ground, trying not to get blown away.
The purple bird stared down at Eden and Elvis. Then it used its wings to cover the two of them.
Elvis was still confused. He didn't understand what was happening. He could only stare at his mother, who was smiling at him—a warm smile.
