With one wish fulfilled, Saitama felt completely relaxed in both mind and body.
Every Root Ninja Danzo had brought was also finished off by Saitama.
Of course, Saitama wiped away all traces, though some residual marks might still remain. However, no one would be able to determine from those remnants who exactly killed them or which methods were used.
Due to the outbreak of Hashirama's cells, most of Danzo's body had become part of the tree, yet his head outside remained intact, still wearing an expression of unwillingness on his face.
After confirming Danzo's death, Saitama simply walked away without sparing a glance at his corpse. Around Danzo's remains, he casually piled up the bodies of dozens of Root Ninjas.
...
"What a spectacular fight that was!"
White Zetsu extended half of his body, cloaked in Zetsu leaves, from a nearby trunk, looking at Saitama.
"I'm really curious how you managed to avoid Danzo's [Inner Four Symbols Seal] technique."
White Zetsu stared intensely at Saitama, eyes filled with amusement.
"It's the power of the Mangekyou, a ninjutsu dwelling within my right eye! Similar to the Uchiha Clan's forbidden jutsu [Izanagi], except it doesn't destroy one of my eyes after just one use."
"Still, this jutsu consumes quite a lot of ocular chakra. After using it once, I need a long time to recover."
Saitama sat on the tree trunk with his legs swinging in the air, his pants flapping loosely in the wind.
He didn't seem to care, just telling Zetsu about his right eye's ability without holding anything back.
"Oh, that actually sounds pretty powerful!" White Zetsu nodded while Black Zetsu remained silent, eyes flickering as if deep in thought.
"When will we go capture the Four-Tails?" asked White Zetsu.
"Let me rest for now. Just used the Mangekyou, feeling a bit drained."
"That works. I'll go ahead and keep watching the Four-Tails until you're ready to come over!"
"Yeah, be careful not to get discovered by the Tailed Beast! Rumor has it the Four-Tails Jinchuriki can communicate with the beast and harness a significant portion of its power!"
Saitama turned his head slightly, gazing deeply at White Zetsu.
"All right! All right!" White Zetsu smirked, his facial expression showing impatience before gradually sinking into the tree trunk and vanishing from sight.
Saitama continued to stare at the spot where Zetsu had vanished, his expression never changing.
Inside his right eye, if examined closely, one could see a red blood vessel threading through the pupil, connecting diagonally across the eyeball.
His right hand rested on the rim of his right eye socket as Saitama silently sat there, saying nothing.
As he had just explained to Zetsu, after extensive research, he had finally figured out the ability of his right eye.
It was an upgraded version of [Izanagi]. And the price paid for using it once was only a portion of ocular chakra.
Yet, the ability of this Mangekyou was somewhat different from [Izanagi].
While [Izanagi] seemed usable only after the caster's death, Saitama's ability could be activated at any moment.
Even more significantly, Saitama's power was to "record" previous physical states, then "summon back" those states when casting the jutsu.
In other words, if Saitama recorded "State A" at a certain moment and then activated the Mangekyou technique in his right eye under "State B," he could return to "State A"?
Of course, as long as he set the trigger condition for this ability inside his right eye, even if he died, he could still return to the saved state.
It was like saving your progress in a game—an idea Saitama knew all too well from his past life as a gamer!
So Saitama named this technique [Save].
Holding his hand over his right eye for a long time, Saitama could feel the stinging pain inside his eyeball slowly disappearing.
"Haa!" Saitama lowered his hand and placed both palms on the tree trunk, gazing at the distant sky.
This technique consumed ocular power—something Saitama certainly wasn't lacking.
In his current condition, the right eye's ability could be used multiple times, but each activation of [Save] would drain the ocular energy. Even after returning to the previously stored state, that power couldn't be instantly restored.
But fortunately, Saitama had an abundant supply of ocular power—at his own estimate, it allowed about three consecutive uses.
That meant, during a single battle, Saitama had at least four chances at life.
And [Save] was essentially his lifeline—a second chance when all else failed.
Left eye: [Amaterasu], Right eye: [Save]. Now, the nature of Saitama's Mangekyou abilities had become clear.
[Amaterasu] had emerged when he was surrounded and desperately seeking escape, while [Save] came into existence when he was near death, wishing for "one more chance."
The Sharingan developed its abilities based on the ninja's deepest emotions and desires.
Therefore, the appearance of these two abilities wasn't really surprising!
"Next up is the Four-Tails!" Saitama said with deep eyes and an expressionless face.
Now that he'd chosen to cooperate with Madara Uchiha, Saitama had already found his path.
He naturally remained wary, fully aware that Madara's intentions were treacherous.
However, gathering the Tailed Beasts was still necessary—only by collecting these strategic weapons could he force everyone to submit.
Though this approach felt slightly uncomfortable to Saitama, it truly seemed the best method available.
Total unification of the Shinobi World—this was Saitama's ultimate goal. True peace could only come through absolute unity!
Whether it was clan feuds, village rivalries, or bitter enmities between villages—all would fade away in the face of total unification.
As for Nagato, Saitama had already thought through how things would go between them.
Once he gathered most of the Tailed Beasts, Saitama planned to lay his cards on the table with Nagato.
What path they'd take would be decided together, when the time came.
From what he'd imagined, Saitama believed that Nagato—who claimed to be a "god"—would likely accept his opinions. After all, both of them aimed toward spreading peace across the Shinobi World; their differences were only in methods and approaches.
"Alright, time to go find Zetsu first!" Saitama narrowed his eyes, thinking about Black Zetsu.
Black Zetsu had always been a problem. Saitama was ready to deal with this shadow manipulating the Shinobi World someday soon—it was necessary to wipe it out before he could feel at ease.
In his previous life, Madara Uchiha had implanted a Cursed Seal over Obito's heart to control him, completely suppressing any thoughts of trying to remove it.
The control of the cursed seal was in Black Zetsu's hands.
Knowing all this, Saitama, on the day he awoke after being saved by Madara Uchiha, immediately scanned for the cursed seal's presence but found nothing.
But this only raised more suspicion in Saitama—was Uchiha Madara really that confident in him?
So he had been quietly monitoring his body's condition ever since.
The fact that he was even thinking like this meant the cursed seal inside him must've been different from the one Obito had.
So far, though, nothing seemed off with his body.
...
Within [Sensor] range, White Zetsu deliberately released chakra fluctuations, guiding Saitama from afar.
This kind of chakra signature similar to Hashirama's could only be produced by a few individuals across the entire Shinobi World—and even fewer could sense it.
Tracing the trail, Saitama soon linked up with White Zetsu.
"How's it looking?" Saitama stood atop a tree branch as the Venus flytrap slowly emerged beneath his feet.
"Roshi's just ahead in the civilian village. Since leaving Iwagakure, he's been living like a hermit."
"Although the tailed beast's influence makes his temper short and explosive, through strict inner cultivation, his current state is actually quite good."
"Hmm, then I'll head over now! I can already feel his powerful, scorching chakra!"
Saitama glanced sideways at White Zetsu, who looked eager to explain further, then bent his body and shot straight forward.
Thanks to his past-life experience, he had a certain understanding of the Four-Tails' Jinchuriki's abilities. And in the books left behind by Madara Uchiha, he'd memorized every detail about the tailed beasts' traits and powers as if they were family heirlooms.
"Cheh! What rude behavior!" White Zetsu stared at Saitama's retreating figure, clearly dissatisfied with his attitude.
