"Leaf Strong Whirlwind!" Might Guy unleashed his spinning kick for the third time, and its power had once again undergone a qualitative leap compared to the second.
"Even with such a massive wound on his right thigh, it's as if it hasn't affected him at all."
"Truly impressive," Kisame remarked.
"This level of pain—I've long since grown used to it!" Guy shouted, smashing the cliff behind him into rubble with a single kick.
After opening the Sixth Gate, Guy's speed had reached a point where even Kakashi's Sharingan struggled to keep up.
"Earth Release: Earth Dragon Bullet!"
A rock dragon lunged toward Guy, but it was completely ineffective, shattering under a single punch.
"Water Release: Water Cannonball!"
"Water Release: Water Fang Bullet!"
Kakashi, true to his title as the Copy Ninja, effortlessly unleashed a variety of jutsu. Unfortunately, against a Sixth Gate Guy, none of them had any effect.
Damn it!
Nothing could harm Guy in his current state.
"Water Release: Hidden Mist Technique!"
Kakashi attempted to use the mist to his advantage again.
Standing still, his face flushed red from the strain of the Sixth Gate, Guy declared, "Kakashi, I'll break through this mist with this move!"
Clenching his fists tightly, Guy expanded his chest and unleashed a barrage of rapid punches. The friction between his fists and the air ignited flames, creating a spectacle resembling the unfurling of a peacock's tail.
"Morning Peacock!"
This is bad!
A cold sweat dripped down Kakashi's face. Whether by luck or intuition, the Morning Peacock's attack trajectory was aimed directly at him. With his vision also obscured by the mist, it was too late to dodge.
Kamui!
In desperation, Kakashi resorted to his trump card. Blood streamed from his left eye as the Mangekyō Sharingan spun, creating a vortex-like spatial distortion that absorbed the Morning Peacock entirely.
This ability... it's just like that mysterious man's Mangekyō Sharingan technique, Kisame thought to himself. Looks like this Kakashi really is Uchiha Obito, his former teammate.
Inside the Kamui dimension, Obito was busy preparing his Six Paths.
Suddenly, a searing wave of flames erupted toward him. The worst part? Being in the Kamui dimension, he couldn't phase through the attack!
Almighty Push!
The shockwave and intense heat of the Morning Peacock were repelled.
Fortunately, Obito now possessed the Rinnegan—otherwise, he might not have survived this.
But how could an attack suddenly appear in the Kamui dimension? Unless...
Obito's pupils dilated in shock, his expression a mix of surprise and complexity.
Kakashi, you've awakened the Mangekyō Sharingan too, haven't you?
His gaze shifted to the corpses he had been preparing for his Six Paths. They were now charred beyond recognition, courtesy of Guy's Morning Peacock.
Back on the battlefield, Kakashi dropped to one knee, utterly drained. For a non-Uchiha to use the Mangekyō Sharingan, the price was steep. After just one use, he felt completely spent, barely able to continue fighting.
"Let me handle the rest," Kisame said, stepping forward with Samehada in hand. The previous battle had already stirred his fighting spirit.
"Water Release: Great Exploding Water Shockwave!"
A massive sphere of water engulfed the battlefield. Kisame leisurely floated within it, a confident smile on his face.
"I've already figured out your last move. You create shockwaves and flames through rapid punches and friction with the air."
"It's an impressive taijutsu technique, but in an environment surrounded by water, flames are snuffed out instantly!"
"Youth never backs down!" Guy roared, charging toward Kisame.
Kisame smirked. "Water Release: Thousand Feeding Sharks!"
He didn't bother dodging. Although he frequently used ninjutsu, Kisame still considered himself a taijutsu specialist. A direct clash was something he relished.
Surrounded by a swarm of sharks, Kisame wielded Samehada as he charged at Guy.
The two engaged in a fierce taijutsu battle, exchanging blow after blow.
"Is that all you've got?" Kisame taunted.
"Your taijutsu is strong, but this is water. With the sharks aiding me and Samehada absorbing your chakra, you're no match for me."
Indeed, the aquatic environment, combined with the sharks and Samehada's chakra absorption, gave Kisame a significant advantage. As the battle dragged on, Guy accumulated several minor injuries.
Although none were serious, this couldn't continue.
With a loud clash, Guy retreated, his expression more serious than ever.
"That look... Do you have an even stronger move?" Kisame asked, intrigued.
"If that's the case, then I have no choice but to open another gate."
"Seventh Gate: Gate of Wonder, open!"
Guy crossed his arms in front of his chest, unleashing a powerful aura that pushed the surrounding water away, creating a vacuum.
The green chakra vapor surrounding him turned blue, becoming even more violent and terrifying. In an instant, the sheer force of his aura shattered Kisame's massive water sphere, sending waves several meters high crashing outward.
"Oh my, this is something else!" Kisame's expression turned serious.
"I didn't expect Konoha to have someone of your caliber hidden away."
"But I'm the type to grow stronger when faced with a challenge. I won't lose to you!"
The two faced off, their eyes locking. As if by mutual understanding, they attacked simultaneously.
"Water Release: Great Shark Bullet Technique!"
Kisame clasped his hands together in a lotus shape before thrusting them forward. A massive shark, as large as a Tailed Beast, materialized and charged toward Guy with its jaws wide open.
Guy, however, remained unfazed.
"Watch closely!"
"A one-hit kill—this is something you don't see every day."
"Daytime Tiger!"
Guy pulled his hands back and unleashed a seemingly ordinary straight punch. But when the speed and power of the punch reached a certain threshold, it became anything but ordinary.
"Roar, youth!"
A colossal white tiger appeared, meeting the giant shark head-on. The two titanic beasts clashed, tearing into each other.
"Hmph, my Great Shark Bullet can absorb chakra from enemy ninjutsu and grow even larger. Your technique can't possibly defeat mine," Kisame said confidently.
But then, his eyes widened in disbelief.
"What?!"
"My Great Shark Bullet isn't growing? It's being overpowered?!"
The Daytime Tiger's speed was overwhelming. Kisame, overly confident moments ago, had failed to dodge in time.
As the white tiger closed in, a vortex-like spatial distortion appeared once again, swallowing the ferocious beast into the Kamui dimension.
Kakashi collapsed entirely, barely able to stay conscious. He mustered just enough strength to explain, "All of Guy's techniques are taijutsu. Your chakra-absorbing ninjutsu is useless against them."
"Is that so..." Kisame muttered.
"Then I'll keep my distance and use ninjutsu. As long as I avoid close combat, I'll be fine!"
"Water Release: Thousand Feeding Sharks!"
In the Kamui dimension, Obito reacted much faster this time.
Almighty Push!
Impossible! What kind of attack is this? A regular Almighty Push couldn't block it? Obito quickly increased its power, using an enhanced Almighty Push to barely fend off the Daytime Tiger.
The Kamui dimension, however, was left in chaos from the attack's shockwaves.
Obito clenched his fists in frustration as he looked at the corpses he had just gathered for his Six Paths—they were ruined once again.
What the hell is Kakashi doing?!
Back on the battlefield, Kisame attempted to maintain his distance and use ninjutsu to fight. But Guy suddenly stopped moving.
"Kakashi, I'll get to the bottom of this," Guy said, his tone resolute.
With that, he turned and left.
Continuing the fight would mean opening the Eighth Gate—a move reserved for the most critical moments. Now was not the time.
