Unlike her house, which had a separate dining and living rooms, this place had both in the same space.
In fact, the kitchen only had a short wall dividing it from the dining area which were both easily visible from anyone in the living room.
In her mind, she was going about the cooking quietly, but Ezra woke up the moment he felt something moving slowly over his body.
It wasn't until she walked toward the kitchen that he opened his eyes and saw she'd covered him with a duvet.
He watched her set the table, then walk up to him.
She seemed to contemplate waking him before she bent over and poked him gently with her finger.
"Mr. Hale?"
He swallowed, abruptly sitting up before her finger even reached him.
Startled by the sudden movement, she staggered back, breaking out in a cold sweat.
"I-I apologize if I woke you when you didn't want to, but… I made breakfast."
Ezra stared her down, his eyes trailing to her hospital gown.
