"What is this?" Fin exclaimed, staring at the monstrous creatures.
"A.D., everyone, set your guns to the first option!" A.D. commanded. Fin immediately started shooting at the monsters' heads. "No!" A.D. yelled. "You have to shoot at their belly! Their brain is in their belly!"
The war began. They all started firing, the monsters lumbering towards them. Suddenly, a new message flashed on their watches: "IF YOU KILL THEIR LEADER, YOU CAN STOP THIS WAR."
A masked girl was visible on the back of one of the monsters, leading them. Fin, aiming for her monster, shot it down. The masked girl fell to the ground. Fin and Mira immediately moved to engage her, trying to shoot her, but A.D. suddenly saw a locket around her neck – the locket he had given to Mia.
As Mira prepared to fire, A.D. reacted instantly, throwing himself forward. A wax bullet from Mira's gun struck A.D.'s leg, and he fell. "Mira! A.D.!" she cried out, shocked by what she had done.
The masked girl, Mia, mounted another monster's back and fled. All the remaining monsters followed her, retreating from the battle.
Chapter Ninety: A Brother's Pain
Everyone rushed towards A.D., who was lying on the ground. Dunk quickly tore a piece of A.D.'s pant leg, revealing a strange, green wound.
"Why did you come forward?" Mira asked, her voice filled with regret. A.D. wasn't listening to anyone; he was crying loudly, his gaze fixed on Mia's retreating figure.
"What is it? Does it hurt that badly?" Tina asked, concerned. But A.D. was consumed by the sight of Mia, whom he had just reunited with after so long, now in this horrifying state, an enemy in this game, leaving without a word.
