While Frieza prepared his massive assault, Raditz returned from the Supreme Kai assembly. The meeting's greatest revelation had been discovering the Angels' awakening, confirming that terrible prophecy. Arak had taken responsibility for reporting the situation to the Grand Priest, while the remaining Supreme Kais returned to their respective universes. Following Raditz's suggestion, they'd all begun preparing for potential conflict.
In the Sacred World of the Kais, dazzling light touched down on the verdant grass. Four figures materialized—Raditz, Shin, Old Kai, and Kibito.
Shin and Old Kai both breathed profound sighs of relief, their entire bodies relaxing. Taking Raditz to that meeting had been nerve-wracking. Everything they'd taught him about proper etiquette had been completely useless! They'd genuinely thought a physical fight might break out. Regardless of whether Roh, Supreme Kai of Universe 9, had been right or wrong in his criticisms, such direct confrontations between Supreme Kais were extraordinarily rare.
Now that they'd left the assembly venue and escaped that oppressive atmosphere, Shin suddenly felt waves of cool comfort washing over him.
Tapion, who'd been resting beneath the ancient tree, hurried over. "Lord Supreme Kai!" he greeted enthusiastically, a pure smile brightening his face.
Tapion wore a flute hanging from a cord around his chest. His outfit resembled Kibito's formal robes, though he lacked the Potara earrings that would mark him as an actual Supreme Kai. He was currently receiving instruction from Old Kai, and as a legendary hero, he'd become the elder deity's sole disciple.
"I'm surprised you returned so quickly."
"The meeting was unusually brief," Shin said with a nervous laugh.
"Did something important occur?"
"Very important matters, yes—but you're not ready to fully understand them yet. I'll explain in detail later," Old Kai said gravely, hands clasped behind his back.
Tapion's study period had been relatively short. Many concepts remained unclear to him. Subjects like the Angel race and the Ancient Ruins couldn't be adequately explained in one or two sentences. Old Kai turned his attention to Raditz. "Was what you said at the assembly actually true? Does our universe genuinely possess top-five level status?"
"Our universe..." Shin started to respond, then trailed off awkwardly.
He knew the true state of affairs under his leadership. He couldn't contradict Raditz's bold claims during the meeting itself, but privately he maintained realistic assessments of their actual ranking.
"Have you forgotten the comprehensive development plan I implemented five years ago?" Raditz said with absolute confidence. "I guarantee that after five years of systematic improvement, we've achieved our objectives. Even if Universe 7 hasn't quite reached top five, we're certainly among the strongest now." At minimum, compared to Universe 9 and similar rankings, they'd grown stronger to an incomprehensible degree.
Seeing Raditz's unwavering certainty, both Old Kai and Shin found themselves choosing to believe him.
The shock reverberating through both of them was incomparable. In merely five years, Raditz had accomplished what they'd failed to achieve across millennia. It was almost beyond comprehension.
"What should we do next? Should we prepare for potential threats?" Shin asked.
"What's coming will come regardless. For now, we simply wait and observe—business as usual," Raditz said, waving dismissively. "I'm departing now."
"Going to train!" With that declaration, Raditz vanished from sight with a whoosh.
Peaceful life continued across the universe. The world hadn't changed dramatically. The ominous prophecy seemed indefinitely postponed, with no further developments.
But good news arrived in waves.
Nappa and Ariel gave birth to a baby boy. Two days later, Krillin and Pepara's daughter was also born. At the last major gathering, both mothers had been heavily pregnant—no one expected they'd deliver their children within weeks of each other.
Nappa's son was named Chard. From the moment of birth, this child displayed extraordinary power level. He cried with tremendous vigor. The defining Saiyan characteristic—his tail—was perfectly preserved, marking him as a robust, healthy infant.
Krillin's child, on the other hand, was distinctively unique. She possessed a Saiyan tail like her mother, but also inherited her father's lack of a nose. With large, expressive eyes, she looked absolutely adorable. Her name was Pikan. Pepara showed tremendous patience with the baby, even revealing a rarely-seen gentle side. She spoke in soft tones, and when Krillin occasionally walked too loudly or made sudden noises, she'd silence him with intimidating cold glares.
Both couples were first-time parents who didn't understand many aspects of childcare. They sought advice from Bulma and Zangya, who'd already navigated early parenthood successfully. Seeing Nappa—usually mighty and domineering in battle—now acting cautious and careful, handling everything with delicate precision, even changing his walking pace, was almost surreal.
When Raditz heard the news, he immediately flew to Bulma's residence. He arrived to find Nappa, Ariel, Krillin, and Pepara learning about infant care from professional instructors.
The four sat in a neat row, listening attentively and taking rapid notes in their notebooks. Their posture caused young Trunks to peek curiously around corners—these uncles and aunts looked exactly like students in his classroom!
"HAHAHAHA! This is definitely not like you, Nappa!" Raditz descended from the sky, unable to contain his hearty laughter.
His abrupt interruption disrupted the entire teaching session. After a moment, the surrounding area fell into deathly silence.
Suddenly, everyone turned to stab Raditz with knife-like glares, causing cold sweat to break out across his body.
Especially Nappa and Pepara—they seemed to enter combat stances, no longer intimidated even by Raditz himself. As expected of new parents... utterly terrifying. Can't provoke them. Absolutely cannot provoke them.
"Master, what brings you here?" Tarble's voice came from behind.
"Ah, Tarble! I came to see Nappa and Krillin's children."
"The babies are in the nursery being looked after by professional caretakers. Nappa and the others have been more devoted to learning childcare than practicing martial arts lately. They've been discussing parenting techniques constantly while walking around," Tarble whispered. "We shouldn't disturb their lesson."
"I completely agree," Raditz said with an awkward smile, following Tarble away from the impromptu classroom.
The instruction continued in the courtyard. The four students re-entered their state of intense concentration, which genuinely amazed Raditz.
Finally, Raditz followed Tarble to the nursery. He saw the two infants sleeping peacefully in their cribs. A simple ki sense revealed both children already possessed power levels in the hundreds—with Chard's reading notably higher. With such innate strength, by previous Saiyan rating standards, they'd both be classified as genius-level fighters.
These children had inherited genetic material from two powerful warrior parents. Their future strength would likely surpass even Nappa and Pepara's current levels.
This was the hope embodied by newborn life—representing the future itself.
Raditz smiled with genuine satisfaction. The emergence of a next generation was tremendously positive. The older generation was formidable, but age would eventually diminish everyone. A steady stream of new warriors was essential to sustain their civilization. The scattered handful of surviving Saiyans had slowly developed families and produced offspring. This was the true beginning of the Saiyan race's revitalization.
Today's Saiyans were stronger and more civilized than ever before. A vast universe of possibility stretched before them—a bright, hopeful future waiting to unfold.
