Chapter 25 - chapter twenty five

Text"Die!!"

Dunce face screams and falls to the ground, a satisfying reaction even if it is incredibly wimpy.

So what if Bakugou came diving around a corner yelling and blasting explosions? If that idiot wants to be a Pro, he'll have to get used to it.

Honestly, sometimes Bakugou wonders how the hell half the class even made it past the entrance exams.

Even those with strong Quirks, like Dunce face, also tend to be idiots. If one of them tripped and got crushed by a robot during the exam, Bakugou wouldn't be at all surprised.

"Bakugou! Give a guy a little more warning next time," Dunce face whines, still sitting on the floor.

Bakugou rolls his eyes, "That defeats the fucking point."

Today's class is all about stealth and observation. Why the fuck would Bakugou give his position up like that? Sure, he didn't make all that much of an effort to quiet down, but straight up warning his opponent is idiotic.

Dunce face sighs before climbing back up to his feet, "Still, you didn-" Dunce face cuts himself off with another scream.

Bakugou, with one arm now reaching over Dunce face's shoulder, rolls his eyes once again. His explosions weren't even aimed at the idiot this time, so no excuse for him to be acting like this.

Before Dunce face can try to whine again, Bakugou speaks, "Oi, I know you're there."

Unfortunately, stopping Dunce face from whining has only opened the opportunity for Invisa-girl to whine.

"This is so not fair! How did you even know I was there?"

"'Cause I'm not a fuckin' idiot," Bakugou grins, "And neither is my partner."

Not even a second later, Icyhot jumps down from his little ice ledge above them.

Dunce face and Invisa-girl scream, but Bakugou is too busy basking in his victory to give a shit. Winning never gets boring, not for someone like Bakugou.

Icyhot, face unmoving even with the yelling and whining of the other two, marks Dunce face and Invisa-girl up with tape. Bakugou really hates that tape; it makes no sense to use it to 'signify a win' when he could just knock someone out.

The speakers above them crackle to life, "Bakugou and Todoroki are the winners of this round. Now come back to the observation room for the after-match analysis."

Bakugou doesn't waste any more time hanging around, not when Dunce face is still whining about being up against too strong of opponents.

That's another thing that pisses off Bakugou, strong Quirks wasted on idiots. Invisa-girl should have won this round, but neither she nor Dunce face actually thought things through and used their Quirks in a unique way. Instead, they just walked around in the most predictable pattern possible.

At least Icyhot is competent; if he weren't, then Bakugou would seriously lose his mind.

-

Todoroki enjoys working with Bakugou, even if he is loud and impulsive at times.

Even if he is loud and impulsive all the time.

He's smart and has great Quirk control. His temper also gives Todoroki a chance to improve his teamwork skills. After all, someone who can work with Bakugou can work with anyone.

That being said, he is glad this stealth exercise is over. Bakugou, much like his Quirk, is not suited for staying quiet for long periods of time.

Even now, Bakugou's footsteps fall louder than anyone else's as he stamps into the observation room. No one in the class reacts, everyone's used to it by now.

Todoroki himself follows dutifully behind, his footsteps barely audible.

"Who was the MVP of this round then?" Aizawa-sensei asks, his voice a stark difference from the way All Might usually asks that question. Todoroki can't help but notice that he looks more tired than usual today. Was Aizawa-sensei on patrol last night? Then again, the day after Aizawa-sensei has a nighttime patrol tends to end with him napping through homeroom completely. That wasn't the case this morning, though.

How curious.

Jirou is the one to answer him, "Bakugou, right? He was the one who found Kaminari and noticed Hagakure."

Bakugou already begins to preen at that, which becomes comical when Aizawa-sensei shakes his head, "Not quite."

"Hah? The fuck do you mean it wasn't me?!" Bakugou's hands are noticeably lacking any explosions, likely due to the fact he knows Aizawa-sensei will just erase them anyway.

"Language Bakugou," Aizawa-sensei scolds, "I would say the true MVP is Todoroki. Not only did he show his stealth skills by hiding when Bakugou didn't, but it was he who set the trap for Hagakure." Aizawa-sensei speaks casually, a contrast to the somewhat confused looks around the room.

Well, except for Midoriya, who is muttering away– likely about said trap.

"Trap?" Uraraka asks.

Aizawa-sensei nods but otherwise does not speak. It seems like explaining will fall to Todoroki this time.

"I put a thin layer of ice on the ground; once it melted, we were able to see Hagakure's footprints," Todoroki explains. In truth, it wasn't something he came up with on his own. Once, when he was still young enough not to have a Quirk, Mother had set a similar trap to see who was eating all the leftover soba.

Coincidentally, that was the one night Todoroki decided not to sneak out of his room to eat leftover soba. The next morning, however, Mother had been quick to tease and scold him for it regardless. He hadn't truly minded being scolded as she had held him close while doing it and explaining her trap. Still, he does often wonder who the real culprit was.

Hagakure, unaware of the memory playing in Todoroki's head, dramatically sighs, "Arghh! I noticed my feet getting wet, but I didn't question it!"

Midoriya snaps out of his muttering just long enough to say, "That's such a smart move, Todoroki!" What he says next might be ideas on how to develop the trap for later use; Todoroki can't quite tell due to how he falls back into muttering.

Still, Todoroki nods mutely before turning his attention back to Aizawa-sensei.

After a few more comments, mostly aimed at Kaminari and Bakugou for their lack of stealth, Aizawa-sensei waves them off and gestures for the next group to step forward.

With the post-match analysis over, Todoroki finds himself drifting off to the side of the room while the next group prepares for their turn.

Along the same wall, although a decent distance away, sits Dazai and Nakahara.

The pair had opted out of today's training, something that Todoroki suspects wasn't all that intentional.

Yesterday, the two had mainly stuck to their rooms, or so Todoroki hears. Admittedly, after Dazai and Nakahara rejected the film night offer he hadn't stuck around much longer. Not because he didn't want to spend time with his classmates, he has now come to appreciate them and the time he spends with them after all, but rather because of how… rowdy they got.

The group behind the Comfort Kingdom did not want their efforts to go to waste and so decided to watch a film anyway, that sparked a debate on if that was appropriate when they had initially planned for Dazai and Nakahara to join, that debate then evolved into one about what film to watch, and then why a certain genre is better than another, and then-

Well, it's easier to list what didn't end up a debate.

Todoroki, with his habit of being early to class, also hadn't seen the pair this morning at the dorms.

(Mentally, Todoroki debates if getting to class a little later would be worth it. Perhaps spending more time with his classmates in the mornings would be beneficial.)

During class, there was, as one would expect, little time to chat and attempt to bridge the gap between class 1A and Dazai and Nakahara.

That is all to say, neither Dazai nor Nakahara had properly interacted with anyone else in the class since coming back. In the changing rooms, Dazai had complained, admittedly in his usual light-mannered way, about having to participate in today's exercise.

When Midoriya brought this up to Aizawa-sensei before the exercise began, thus getting both Dazai and Nakahara excused from it, Todoroki had noticed the look Dazai sent to Nakahara. Todoroki isn't the best at reading people, let alone someone like Dazai, but, if he had to guess, he would say Dazai's face said 'Well, this is an unexpected turn of events!'

It also could have said 'Why is this kid intervening when he has no place to do so?'

As he said, Todoroki isn't the best at reading people.

Todoroki's own match had ended up being the first one, so he had no chance to try and speak to the pair before going out.

Now, though, he has the opportunity.

Midoriya and Uraraka had been kind enough to give Todoroki some tips on how to approach and befriend someone, although their advice did differ in some ways.

While Midoriya had suggested taking note of what the other person likes and starting a conversation about that, Uraraka had said to just go up and say whatever comes to mind. She had claimed that the conversation would naturally flow better with a more chill start.

Another example, Midoriya had suggested talking about something Todoroki likes when there is a lull in the conversation. Uraraka had told him to ask questions about the other person instead.

Overall, Todoroki thinks there are merits to both methods. Going in with a 'chill start', as Uraraka put it, would likely end in disaster due to Todoroki's more introverted personality. Talking about himself also seems like a bad idea, for various obvious reasons. In truth, Todoroki doesn't have too many hobbies or interests outside of training to be a Pro Hero.

If Todoroki were to say that then Dazai or Nakahara might ask why he doesn't have any hobbies or interests, that would then lead to talking about his Father and the isolated training Todoroki went through as a child, which he knows isn't the best thing to bring up to prospective friends.

Hopefully, the effectiveness of the advice will not lessen if he mixes the two.

Slowly, Todoroki shuffles his way along the wall. Even if he can't do a 'chill start' a more casual one should be alright, the type that makes it feel like Todoroki started the conversation on a whim. Oh, maybe that is a 'chill start'? Uraraka hadn't been all that clear, so hopefully what he's doing works.

Once he's within speaking distance, Todoroki stops but does not speak. He'll wait a few moments before speaking, so it doesn't seem like he moved over just to talk to them. That's something people do, right? Todoroki is used to being a lot more direct, but acting like that might be too much in this situation.

On the monitors, Mina pulls a particularly impressive move, melting the wall so she can hide; Todoroki thinks this is a good conversation starter, so he comments on it, his eyes still trained on the monitors. Nakahara is a talented fighter and, hopefully, interested in the topic.

For a second, it seems he won't be getting a response. Fortunately, that doesn't turn out to be the case.

Nakahara sighs, "Yea, it was good. Using her acid to go through floors would be a useful skill, too."

Todoroki nods, the teachers are always going on about finding different applications for their Quirks. Mina figuring out how to use her Quirk to create escape routes will certainly help her as a Pro.

"If you were in this match, what would you do?" Todoroki asks, partly to keep the conversation going and partly due to genuine interest. The current match is Jirou and Sero vs Mina and Tokoyami; so far, neither team has pulled ahead. With Jirou's enhanced hearing, you would expect her team to win, and yet, both Mina and Tokoyami are doing an impressive job keeping hidden away.

Dazai and Nakahara are both strong fighters and good at planning, and Todoroki is sure the pair of them could come up with a way to win completely, no matter the opponent.

Nakahara leans back a bit, "Jirou would hear me even if I did float around… I'd use my Ability to make as much noise as possible so she would have a hard time telling where I was. Sero and Mina are easy enough to dodge. Tokoyami, on the other hand, might cause me some trouble."

Surprisingly, Dazai is the next to chime in, "So Chibi is admitting defeat to a bird- Ah, sorry, to a shadow of a bird?"

Nakahara's face twitches, "No. I'm just saying he would give me the most trouble."

"Dark Shadow is hard to defeat," Todoroki agrees, "Even if you do manage to get Tokoyami down."

"Maybe for you lot, but I face no such troubles. That pesky bird can't lay a finger on me," Dazai wiggles one of his own fingers as if to emphasise his point. Dazai's Ability does seem to be a useful one, perhaps even more than Aizawa-sensei's own Erasure.

Nakahara rolls his eyes before turning in Todoroki's direction, "What would you do?"

It doesn't take long for Todoroki to come up with an answer, he's fought his classmates enough to have basic plans on how to beat them all, "I would do something similar to you for Jirou, except with icicles. They would fall and distract her. For Tokoyami I would use my fire side to weaken Dark Shadow. I would tire Mina out with ice attacks. For Sero…" Todoroki trails off, his mind supplying him with images from the Sports Festival.

Dazai coughs, although it suspiciously sounds more like a laugh.

Todoroki can't help but feel accomplished at that. He hadn't intended to say something funny but, he decides, this is a good outcome. This conversation is definitely a success; now he just has to try and keep it going.

On the monitors, Sero jumps out just in time to catch Mina off guard. In one swift movement, she grabs his arm and shoves him down to the ground. The sound he makes as he hits the floor causes even Todoroki to cringe away in pain.

In contrast, Nakahara nods with a grin.

Todoroki is quick to remember that Nakahara had taught a few of the girls some hand to hand, he assumes the move Mina just pulled off was something Nakahara taught her.

He's proven right when Dazai slumps up against Nakahara, "Chibiiii. Why'd you teach her moves and not me? Do you want me to get hurt, is that it?"

"Yes."

Dazai is quick to look up, a scandalised look on his face, "You can't say that Chuuya… It hurts my feelings."

Upon hearing that, Todoroki attempts to figure out if Dazai is telling the truth. The teasing tone should be an indicator that he is, well, teasing. Todoroki knows that might not be the case though, after all, Dazai does hide serious things in a silly tone.

Nakahara brushes Dazai off, "Cry me a river." That… must mean that Dazai was just teasing. Nakahara wouldn't act like this if Dazai were truly upset, not when it's clear to Todoroki just how much he cares about Dazai.

A dramatic yell brings Todoroki's attention back to the monitors. Dark Shadow swoops forward, only just barely missing a sound wave sent out by Jirou.

Todoroki watches silently until Jirou pulls off a particularly impressive move. Internally, he feels quite satisfied. As long as his classmates continue to fight well, then he will have something to talk about with Nakahara and, by extension, Dazai.

So far, Todoroki's friendship plan is going well. Now, he just needs to keep this momentum going.

-

Midoriya takes a deep breath, his back pressed hard against the wall behind him.

When Aizawa-sensei had announced the theme for today's lesson, Midoriya had been excited, even more so when he was paired up with Shouji.

It would have been easy to let Shouji take the lead—which, Midoriya feels the need to clarify, does not mean Midoriya didn't do that! Obviously, Shouji has a better Quirk for stealth missions and Midoriya doesn't mind that.

It's just… Lately, he's been thinking about trying something out…

Fortunately, Shouji had been understanding when Midoriya explained. He had been content to let Midoriya sneak off during the second half of the match to try his idea out.

So now Midoriya finds himself tucked around a corner, waiting with bated breath for his classmate to show up.

It shouldn't be long now…

As if on cue, Midoriya makes out the sound of Iida's engines.

He waits for a moment, just to really make sure Iida is where Midoriya needs him to be, before jumping out from his hiding spot.

"Aha!" Iida declares, his voice taking on a comical tone, "I have found you at long last!

Midoriya keeps his eyes focused on Iida's head, with Iida's speed a single glance away could mean losing the match. "And what are you going to do now, huh?" He fights back the urge to cringe; he needs to have confidence that this will work.

"I will defeat you, Villain!" Iida declares.

"Neither of us are meant to be Villains, you know," Midoriya fires back, "Besides, don't you think you should be focusing on something else?"

Iida's dramatic hand movements falter and eventually come to a stop, "Focus on what?"

"Your teammate, maybe. Do you really think separating was a good idea?" Midoriya does his best to channel the energy of that guy. "You know how Shouji's Quirk works; his tentacles mean he can definitely hear everything in this building. Your teammate has no chance of escaping."

Iida considers this for a moment before pushing his chest up, "I believe in Tsu's capabilities! Besides, it is you that I must focus on Vill- er, Midoriya!"

"Am I?"

That catches Iida off guard enough that his Hero act drops a little, "Are- Yes, you are."

Midoriya does his best smirk, one partially inspired by Kacchan, "It's a stealth exercise remember? Why would you focus on the one out in the open?"

Iida takes a step back, "That means-" His head whips around when, with absolutely perfect timing, the sound of boots echoes from behind him.

Midoriya bends his legs, activates 5% of One for All, and jumps right at Iida.

The collision is a little painful but he manages to wrap enough tape around him that it counts as a win.

Personally, Midoriya would count it as two wins. One for his team with Shouji, and one for using that new trick—and it actually working!

Now Midoriya just has to hope Dazai won't be upset that Midoriya used one of his tricks...

-

Dazai gets up with a stretch, watching class 1A play cat and mouse was… Entertaining, in a way. Some of them played things too safe, which naturally made the match boring and a waste of time to watch. There were some interesting matches though, enough to keep Dazai from being completely bored out of his mind.

Of course, the most notable part of it all was Midoriya's match. It hadn't taken Dazai long to catch on to what Midoriya was trying to do. After all, that sort of trick is one of Dazai's specialties. Part of Dazai had been offended, honestly. First, Midoriya steals his move and then he makes a complete butchery of it? Not cool.

The other part of Dazai found the whole thing quite entertaining, so he's willing to let it slide just this once.

Midoriya is an observant kid, so it makes sense that he figured out the logistics of that little trick. He doesn't quite have the charm to pull it off though, his questions and taunts end up more like his rambles than carefully sharpened weapons.

Oh and Todoroki's stilted attempts at conversation before and throughout that match… Dazai hadn't actually expected him to try so hard at being friendly, he absolutely doesn't seem the type. Well, Dazai thinks, there is always time for him to stop trying. Maybe if Dazai is intentionally difficult to talk to, it will happen more quickly.

Dazai hums, another memory from the matches coming to mind. Aizawa had dismissed the class a few minutes ago, which, combined with the fact that Dazai doesn't need to go get changed means he should have some time to pester Aizawa.

"Hey, Sensei, I have a question…"

Aizawa turns and gives Dazai his full attention, like he actually cares about whatever Dazai is about to say—which, actually, Dazai doesn't doubt that he cares. Aizawa is a rather straightforward man; he doesn't seem to be the type to put on fake airs just to appease someone else. He feels bad about the whole suicide attempt thing and does genuinely want to make up for his 'mistake'.

That sort of look is usually sent Chuuya's way, that guy just racks up people's pity and regret. Dazai, on the other hand, is typically looked at with anger and annoyance.

"During those matches, I noticed Shinsou using something similar to your capture weapon… Could it be that you have a favourite student?" Dazai glances around the room like he's worried someone will overhear. The other class 1A kids had made a fuss of seeing Shinsou in the capture weapon so it must have been his first time wearing it. His skill with the weapon is nowhere near what Aizawa can do, but, to Dazai's eye, it was clear Shinsou had been practising with it for some time.

Predictably, Aizawa is quick to disagree, "I don't have favourites."

"So what is it then," Dazai leans in, "Is Shinsou your son or something? Is that why he gets to learn your techniques?"

Unfortunately, Chuuya elbows him before Aizawa can respond. "Don't be an idiot; they don't look all that similar… Except for the eyebags and hair, I guess."

"It takes two to make a kid you know," Dazai ignores the way Aizawa attempts to interject, "Although, Sensei… Well, I don't think many people are lining up to be with him."

Aizawa sighs deeply, a hand coming to cover his face. Dazai can't help but grin at that; everyone has been acting all serious since his suicide attempt- a little bit of teasing should get things back to normal. Dazai will annoy them all so much that they forget about the whole 'be better classmates' and 'make up for mistakes' thing.

After a moment of hiding behind his hand, Aizawa lets his arm drop before turning to face Dazai, "I've been teaching Shinsou the capture weapon and basic hand to hand since the entrance exam– not because he's my son, but because his Quirk isn't suited to fighting like others are."

"I didn't know Sensei was so benevolent! You know, Chuuya never teaches me any moves…"

"Like you would use them even if you did know." Chuuya is quick to respond. Which is true, although Dazai won't admit it. In truth, he does know some hand to hand but using a gun is far easier. And, when an enemy is too close for a gun, Dazai just waits around for his loyal dog to come and save him.

That or he just takes the beating in hopes it kills him. That answer likely wouldn't get a very good reception right now, though.

"We can talk about this more later if you want," Aizawa hesitates for just a moment, "I have somewhere to show you both. Although…." Aizawa mutters that last part while looking at Dazai.

Dazai huffs, "And what's that supposed to mean, Sensei?"

Chuuya rolls his eyes, "He's probably worried you'll try and off yourself again." Dazai resists the urge to roll his eyes back, that much is clearly obvious. The real question is where might Aizawa want to take them that could pose such a risk?

Aizawa sighs, "I'm not sure the way you said that was very appropriate, but yes, that is a worry." He hesitates for a moment, clearly debating on the right course of action. Eventually, he waves his hand in a 'follow me' gesture and begins walking, "I'll take you for Nakahara's sake but, if you try anything, we're going back to the dorms."

Dazai tucks his thumb and pinky into his palm, his other three fingers sticking up straight–a gesture he had seen in some TV show or another. He holds the hand up to his head, "Have some faith, Sensei… I'm very trustworthy."

Chuuya snorts beside him, which Dazai ignores.

He is actually telling the truth this time, trying to kill himself right now would just cause too much trouble if he were to fail (again). The staff and students of UA are already so high-strung, Dazai hates to think how they would act if he tried to kill himself a second time.

He's also interested to find out where Aizawa plans to take them, especially if it's 'for Nakahara's sake'.

Without Dazai intentionally teasing and stirring up trouble, the group falls into a silence as Aizawa leads them through UA. At this point, Dazai has a decent grasp of the layout of the school, well, the main campus area anyway. Buildings like the USJ and various training grounds are still a bit of a mystery.

That had been a point of (minor) concern when putting together this whole mission plan. UA's security has always been above average, especially when it comes to building plans. Of course, had Dazai put the effort in he likely could have found a building plan eventually… But that would have been a lot of work, which did not sound appealing at all.

Knowing the lay of the land is definitely a useful thing but, in the end, Chuuya could just bulldoze the place if need be.

In what feels like no time at all, Aizawa stops and turns to face both Dazai and Chuuya, "We'll head up now. Dazai, if you think you may try something then please tell me or Nakahara and we'll leave."

Dazai cringes back at that. Being treated like a child is the worst.

"So, where exactly are we going?" Chuuya asks, completely ignoring the second part of what Aizawa said.

Aizawa looks at him, "Yamada alerted some of the staff you may ask about visiting the school roof and said that you have permission to go up there. I thought I would show you the way now."

Chuuya immediately looks more interested, which is so typical of him. If Dazai had to guess, Chibi told Yamada about hanging out on top of the Port Mafia's headquarters and how he, presumably, misses it.

It makes sense now why Aizawa was apprehensive about bringing Dazai specifically here. Jumping from a tall building has a higher chance of success, both due to the impact of the ground and because there are few ways to stop someone already falling. Well, an Ability like Chuuya's would do the job, if the one falling was anyone but Dazai.

Aizawa shouldn't worry about it, though. Dazai has jumped off enough buildings to know the chance of death isn't worth the recovery process if he were to fail. Broken bones are such a pain to deal with…

When Aizawa begins walking again, Chuuya is quick to follow. It takes a few moments to reach a staircase tucked away around a corner, then a few more moments to climb the stairs and emerge out onto the rooftop.

The view certainly couldn't hold up to that of the Port Mafia's headquarters, but Dazai can admit, it isn't bad. Given UA's unique positioning, the rooftop overlooks a large chunk of Musutafu City. The people below continue on with their daily lives, completely unaware of who is looking down at them.

Chuuya, with his hands stuffed in his pockets, nods, "It's good." He seems completely at peace, something that Dazai cannot let continue.

With a dramatic sigh, Dazai drops onto Chuuya's back. With his brutish strength, Chuuya doesn't look at all phased by it–minus the annoyed expression on his face of course.

"It would be better if a certain Mackerel wasn't here."

Dazai gasps in mock offence, "Chuuya! That's so cruel!"

Chuuya shrugs, "It's also the truth."

Something catches Dazai's attention, specifically someone. Aizawa is still lingering by the door, although his body language signals that he's ready to jump into action at any moment. What really catches Dazai's attention is his expression. He looks… For lack of better word, depressed.

"What's wrong with you?" Dazai asks, rather bluntly.

Aizawa shakes his head, "It's nothing. Nakahara, now that you know the way up; feel free to come whenever you want. Just let someone know where you are." He pauses and then, as if realising an error, adds on, "And if Dazai is coming up here then let me know, alright?"

Dazai isn't sure if he wants to laugh or groan at that. On one hand, it's hilarious how much Aizawa is acting like a worried mother hen. It makes sense why he wants to know, likely due to his promise to 'be better'. It might also be because Aizawa is one of the few that could probably stop Dazai as he's falling even with his Quirk nullified.

The annoying side is that Aizawa is acting like a worried mother hen. Just because Dazai tried to drown himself recently doesn't mean he's going to throw himself off a roof next. Being around dangerous things or places doesn't mean he'll immediately try to hurt himself.

But, whatever, it's not like Chuuya will want to invite him up here that much anyway. Stupid Chibi likes to hide up high when he doesn't want to be spoken to.

"Oh, right," Aizawa starts, "The rest of the class will find out tomorrow but I figure I'll tell you both now, final exams are soon. You'll both be expected to participate in the written exam but we can talk about participating in the physical side."

Exams? Dazai distantly remembers being told about having to participate in exams before… Well, looks like he and Chuuya will be getting the real school exam season experience!

"I thought you said you didn't do special treatment?" Dazai teases. The written exam should be easy, the physical exam on the other hand… "And besides, what will the physical exam even be?" Knowing UA, it will be something challenging, meant to push students to their limits without being too harsh.

Of course, neither he nor Chuuya are real students so the exam will be easy no matter what it entails. It would be nice to know what to expect though, maybe Dazai can put together a few plans ahead of time.

Aizawa shakes his head, "I don't play favourites. As for the exam… You'll have to participate and find out." He finishes with a grin, one of the creepy ones he likes using on class 1A.

Chuuya takes a look at Aizawa and grimaces, "Ugh, you look like that idiot Mackerel when you act like that."

Aizawa seems taken aback by that, which Dazai completely ignores in order to glare at Chuuya, "We do not look alike."

"Oh, yea, you look dumber," Chuuya retorts.

"That's not even a good comeback."

"Says you."

-

Half an hour later, Aizawa leads them back to the dorms. Chuuya is still arguing with Dazai, which is refreshing after everything that has gone on over the past few days. Getting back into their usual arguments helps to settle any lingering nerves.

"Now you're just being stubborn Chuuya," Dazai huffs, "I'm more charmingly rugged, meanwhile Sensei…" Dazai sends an over-dramatic look to Aizawa.

The man in question doesn't bother looking back, Chuuya is pretty certain he gave up on paying attention to the argument about twenty-five minutes ago.

"Like you're charmingly anything," Chuuya grumbles under his breath.

Fortunately, he's saved from having to respond due to the cheery calls of class 1A. Internally, he thanks them for the interruption. Dazai is way too stubborn to give up on his argument until Chuuya does, which is a problem because the same can be said about Chuuya.

"Ah, Chuuya! Dazai! We were wondering where you both went," Uraraka greets with a smile.

The few 1A kids scattered around the room throw some acknowledgement in their direction, mostly as waves or small greetings.

Chuuya nods back, somewhat awkwardly.

Thankfully, the one he expected to tease him doesn't seem to notice whatsoever.

Instead, Dazai takes a step forward towards Uraraka with a grin, "Hey, Uraraka, I have a question." Chuuya immediately gets a bad feeling about it.

Uraraka, being the nice person she is, nods with enthusiasm, "I'll do my best to answer!"

Chuuya tries to say something, mainly to warn her not to bother with Dazai's antics, but doesn't quite manage to say it in time, "Who looks more like Aizawa-sensei, me or Shinsou?"

Uraraka seems taken off-guard for a second, then contemplative, then confident, "Shinsou." A few seconds pass before the class reacts. Amusingly, there seems to be a split between those who agree with Uraraka and those who don't.

Across the room, Kaminari shakes his head, "There's no way. Dazai is a lot more similar."

"Just because they have basically the same Quirk and Ability doesn't mean they look alike," Sero responds. A few other kids, such as Uraraka, around the room nod.
