Chapter 70 - Chapter 69 – A Farmhouse for Four

The farmhouse, once a modest structure nestled in the gentle hills of Uji, now felt completely transformed. After weeks of renovation, rushing orders, and system-aided logistics, it stood proudly—modern yet warm, polished but peaceful. It no longer just reflected Phuby and Hana's dream. Now, it had to accommodate something far greater: a new family.

The morning after Hana was discharged from the hospital, soft rain fell outside as they pulled into the gravel path leading to their home. The trees along the road dripped with fresh dew, and the green fields swayed gently in the wind. Despite the cloudy skies, the inside of the car radiated warmth.

Phuby glanced at the rearview mirror. His mother, Mrs. Wulan, sat in the backseat with Hana, who now cradled the twins in her arms—one in each, both wrapped in soft white blankets. Hana had a sleepy glow about her, her head leaning against the headrest, still exhausted from labor, but filled with joy and a quiet strength.

Om Luky drove carefully, occasionally glancing over his shoulder. "We're almost there," he said gently.

Mr. Haruki and Mrs. Aiko followed behind in the Alphard, filled with the remaining supplies from the hospital and gifts they had received—some from the local staff, others from friends back home in Japan who had sent packages once they heard the news.

As they pulled into the courtyard, the motion-sensor porch lights blinked on automatically. Hana looked out and gasped softly. "It's beautiful…"

Phuby smiled. "Welcome home."

The moment they stepped inside, everything felt perfectly timed.

The air smelled faintly of tatami and freshly polished wood. Soft, warm lighting from modern hidden panels gave the whole living area a golden hue. The nursery, placed just across the main bedroom, was already prepared—thanks to both Mrs. Wulan and Hana who had chosen every piece with care.

On each side of the room stood twin cradles, one marked with a blue ribbon, the other with pink. Hanging above them, a mobile gently spun with handmade felt stars and clouds. Everything was calm, quiet—ready.

They took a moment to sit together as a family. Hana, too tired to say much, simply handed one of the twins to Phuby and leaned her head on his shoulder.

"I still can't believe they're real," he whispered.

"They're ours," she replied, her eyes already fluttering closed.

Later in the day, while Hana rested, the family took turns watching the twins. Mr. Haruki, despite always being the composed one, was surprisingly good at calming the babies. He hummed an old lullaby from his hometown, something so gentle even Mrs. Wulan was moved.

"You'll make a great grandfather," she said softly.

"And you already are a perfect grandmother," he replied.

They both chuckled.

Meanwhile, Phuby slipped away quietly and walked into his office, which now also served as a system planning room. As soon as he sat down, the system shimmered to life in front of him with a soft chime.

The door opened behind him.

"You're shopping again?" Hana teased, peeking in with sleepy eyes and a faint smile.

"It's baby stuff," Phuby said defensively. "Totally justifiable."

She walked over and leaned down to kiss him on the cheek. "Thank you, Papa Phuby."

That one sentence made his heart skip. He'd been called many things in his life. But Papa… it hit different.

That evening, with the farmhouse filled with laughter, baby cries, warm tea, and the smell of grilled salmon from the kitchen, Phuby stood outside for a moment.

The stars had begun to peek through the clouds. The tea rows glimmered under the moonlight, and the lights from the nursery spilled onto the porch through a paper screen.

He took out his phone, opened the system, and bookmarked the Family Essentials log, then added a note:

"A home for four. This is only the beginning."
