Kaelen's eyes darkened at my challenge, pupils blown wide with desire. The corner of his mouth lifted in a predatory smile that sent a delicious shiver racing down my spine.
"What am I waiting for?" he repeated, his voice a low, dangerous rumble. He stepped forward, forcing me to retreat. "I'm waiting for you to realize what you've just started, little Luna."
I backed up, pulse quickening as my calves hit the edge of the bed. My wolf stirred inside me, restless and excited, urging me to both submit and resist at the same time. The conflicting instincts were maddening.
"Maybe I know exactly what I've started," I countered, lifting my chin defiantly even as heat pooled between my thighs.
Kaelen's grin widened, revealing the sharp edge of his canines. "I don't think you do."
