The morning light streamed through our bedroom windows as I struggled to decide between two outfits for Rhys. Today was his moonlight dedication ceremony, and I wanted everything to be perfect. My son gurgled happily in his crib, blissfully unaware of the significance of the day ahead.
"Which one do you think?" I asked, holding up a tiny silver suit and a traditional royal blue ceremonial outfit. "The silver matches his eyes, but the blue is traditional..."
Kaelen emerged from our bathroom, towel wrapped around his waist. "The blue. It's been worn by Thorne men for generations."
I smiled, setting the silver outfit aside. "Blue it is."
The doorbell rang, making me jump. "They're early! I'm not even dressed yet."
"Relax," Kaelen said, pressing a kiss to my forehead. "I'll get the door. You finish getting ready."
I nodded gratefully, scooping up Rhys from his crib. "Let's get you dressed first, little prince."
