I thought we were done with the family meeting after discussing our strategy against Malakor, but Harrison's serious expression told me otherwise. He shuffled his papers, a grave look settling over his features.
"There's one last issue we need to discuss," Harrison said, his voice carrying the weight of someone who knew his words would cause trouble.
Beside me, Kaelen tensed, his body shifting slightly. Whatever this was about, he already knew.
"What is it?" I asked, dread pooling in my stomach.
Harrison's eyes met mine briefly before focusing on Lyra. "Dr. Ian."
Those two simple words caused Lyra to stiffen instantly. Her demeanor changed, shoulders squaring defensively.
"What about him?" she asked, voice carrying an edge.
Harrison sighed. "His involvement in our lives needs to be examined more carefully. The timing and circumstances of his presence are... concerning."
